Hi Bill, i love your playing and i love you...so many years we didn't see or hear...hope it will change soon! Hasta la victoria siempre, your friend Johannes Barthelmes
So good to see and hear you after these many years. I remember fondly the time you spent in our humble little band back in Massachusetts during the mid-sixties. You opened our eyes and ears to the sonic possibilities of the drum set and to your philosophy of a life well lived.
I had the pleasure to play and record with Bill Elgart at the beginning of my own career as a Jazz-organist when he lived in Salzburg, Austria. His totally own melodic playin´ was very helpful to develop my own ideas also as a composer offside from traditional styles, cliches and niches. Video with Bill Elgart from my very first live recording-session anno 1985: ua-cam.com/video/lVPU7g-OtuM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Prof.T.C.Pfeiler
Just discovered this guy. Fucking brilliant player. And apparently thinker as well. Beautiful. Thank you for the upload :)
My Boston (Saugus) roommate in 1973. Thanks for posting (and hi to Bill!).
One of the most underrated Drummers in the history of modern Drumming.
One of a kind approach.
