So S2 came out, and it broke me
But my mind immediately went to this song, because it just fits the vibe so much? So I needed to vid this as quick as I could, which was tricky because I'm in the middle of a home-repair and wall-painting, and everything around me is chaos, but here we are.

oh my GOD, Azi's face just after the kiss... the heartbreak is SO CLEAR. It's like he was sobbing with every emotion at once. I can't get over how amazing these guys are at acting. I'm glad we got the kiss, cause now I get to have that until season 3, but I gotta have faith they'll be back together. They're ineffable

the fact that "he poisoned the well, I was lying to myself" was set with Aziraphale post kiss WRECKS mine, Aziraphale can't handle everything he's feeling, including the seemingly contradictory feelings he has for going back to Heaven and being with Crowley on Earth
I think a lot of it was shock; he'd convinced himself (with some manipulation from Metatron, who I'm convinced knew just how Crowley would react), that he'd found a way to have a life with Crowley AND fulfill the purpose of his existence, which is alleviating suffering, particularly the suffering heaven kept inflicting on humans.
ALSO the "us traitors never win" (on the breakup!!!) and "last place where I saw you" WERE SO ON POINT WITH INEFFABLES OMG
"SHADES OF GREY IN CANDLELIGHT" IS CRAZYYYYY

The Getaway car being both the Bentley and at one point the elevator for Azi, and the Bonnie and Clyde ref for them, the "he poisoned the well (Crowley), I was lying to myself (Azi)" OOF this was both positive and tragic and a perfect way to heal and acknowledge the pain in GO2

This video was wonderful! I'm so heart broken over how the series ended. I never even shed a tear watching TV but by the end of this I was crying my eyes out. They need to make a season 3 to fix this. Aziraphale needs to realize that he just made the biggest mistake of his very long life. Him and Crowley belong together.

They were so close 😭. Crowley fine took that leap witch was big for him and then Aziraphale broke his heart like a coward 😭💔 freaking nightingales man!
I don't think it has to do with Aziraphale being a coward. He genuinely believes he can do good in heaven and change it for the better, which would ultimately be better off for everyone in the long run.
Crowley, however, can see past heaven's bullshit and knows they're just manipulating Aziraphale. He knows they'll never let Aziraphale do anything too catastrophic to deviate from God's plan.
Aziraphale has been manipulated by heaven far more than we've seen in the show: heaven being the "good guys," and God's will being the end goal that justifies atrocities because "it will be alright in the end," these things have been so drilled into him for thousands of years that, even though Aziraphale sees the flaws in heaven, he sees it as a failure of the angels in heaven carrying out the will of God properly rather than of the system of heaven itself.
In his mind, all he has to do is take Gabriel's position, and then he can change heaven to be good. If he can fix heaven, he can fix everything. Even Crowley would be restored.
Please, don't be mad at Aziraphale, be mad at heaven for manipulating the shit out of him for thousands of years, be mad at heaven for taking advantage of Aziraphale's love and humanity. Because Aziraphale believes he's doing it for everyone, including Crowley.
@@sassylittleprophet valid but when I say coward, I mean in this universe he thinks heaven is the good guys (Crowley & the viewers know better) and Aziraphale says nothing last forever, referencing each other but he believes heaven will. Crowley believes they could last as their own team but Aziraphale doesn’t, at least not in the same way. It almost feels like he hadn’t been listening to Crowley all those years because I still can’t believe Azir would ask him to go back with him like it was some amazing thing. I understand them in a psychology & behavioral way but just because I understand it doesn’t mean I have to like it.

You are going to be the reason Getaway Car is in my top 3 songs of the year. I've been coming back to this video multiple times a day since last week because it makes me feel better about the ending in a way. When you matched Aziraphale looking at Crowley one more time before getting into the heaven elevator with "that was the last time you ever saw me" I'm hit with so much pain. It brings me back everytime. So heartbreaking. You did this wonderfully.
Just replying to say Getaway Car was in fact my third most played song of the year. Because everytime I played the song I thought of this edit and Good Omens in general.

Oh lord... I have been rewatching this video over and over again. Such a great job! I used to make fanvideos all the time when I was younger, but then I started working in video editing and that kinda took the enjoyment out of the whole thing for me. But when I see videos like yours, I swear to you I feel the motivation to edit for just my enjoyment again and to fulfil my fangirling needs. :D Yes, this video is THAT good.
