Or earth bags, you can use sand or dirt. Fill the bags up with dirt and stack. If you could find a bunch of free emply sandbags after a river flood.

Just watched an underground house video from Texas. That stays the same 65F year round. Although his home took years to build because he used multiple very strong concrete dome structures he buried.
You can build a smaller underground or hillside dugout for cheaper and easier and add to it.

Forget houses. Live in a hot tent. Cheap and no bills.

Idaho seems very overpriced........I like the whole earthship home concept. It's basically like an underground home. Or has so much dirt built up around it. It stays close to the same temp inside yr round....I had an idea, similar to foamcrete but stronger. Gather up free discarded Styrofoam from dumpsters everywhere and some type of free binding agent like free scrap screws & nails and other shredded scrap metals. The shedded Styrofoam added will reduce weight while adding insulation and shredded scrap metal mixed in makes it incredibly strong.
I seen a guy became a billionaire from a very simple invention. He made little slivers of stainless steel (so it doesn't rust in storage or transport) and when these little slivers of steel are mixed into cement/concrete. It makes it insanely strong. The simple invention/discovery made him rich. It's similar to how sawdust added to ice. Makes the ice crazy strong.
I really regret not buying an acre of land and building underground or gathering a bunch of free pallets and building a large, tiny home/cabin out of mostly pallets. To save a bunch on building materials. You could also gather a bunch of free Styrofoam. Shed it up pour it in between the walls for insulation. Another cheap well insulation building material is hay bales. Or if you bought an acre that had some tree. You could build a cool cordwood hobbit cabin. Cut 1ft logs and stack them up with mortar.

I noticed that about Idaho as well. The mid-west will be the better place to find relatively good housing prices. It's getting expensive everywhere though. I still feel like all of it will change. it can't sustain itself like this forever especially with how many people are starting to suffer in thier housing situation.

Northern part, but there are many towns that I have seen all over the state that are pretty good. It is just around the bigger cities that are not as good in general I think.
