Update 2! Managed to create the extra space I needed to translate the short and long names in the character select menu.
Mostly machine translated, gave a quick pass to fix some obvious errors but a few slipped through (shout outs to TANABASHI)
You might notice a few names spilling over to the left, not sure where it's pulling these but I'll track em down.

They've been playable to a western audience forever. Translation guides were on GameFAQs for each of the PS2-era Japanese games.

This is amazing. Are you going to somehow translate things like the story/career mode at some point? I know that's probably a huge challenge but to be able to understand every part of the game one day would be awesome

Wish the ps2 emulator for this game worked for me. im not allowed to move and can't seem to install the mod to make it in english.
