Sorry for my english,I used only 01/w sequencer and sounds programmed by me,nothing more. I realized lots of sounds and MIDI song for that keyboard when I was a korg programmer. Thanx for your comment!
Ho posseduto almeno 6 Korg 01WFD, ogni volta rivendute e riacquistate dopo averle risistemate a dovere (vedi retroilluminaizone).. Una macchina meravigliosa, nonostante l'età. Beh, COMPLIMENTI VIVISSIMI E SINCERI PER QUESTO CAPOLAVORO!!! Chitarre meravigliose.
I programmed the Korg 05R/W for 4 years through college and still didn't completely tap its potential. The thing is so deep. You have done wonders, and I can only dream of sending your youtube video back in time to 1992. If I could have felt this song I would have been in shock, awe, bought and programmed the 01/W to death and made all this sounds and then certainly would have been your best friend!!! Pink Floyd they were total Gods on earth and must have changed history but we don't know it yet.
I am positively surprised! I've owned this synthesizer, it seems now like ages ago, but I never thought it was capable of stuff like this. Incidentally, it was the same keyboard, that helped me secure first song on second CD (set) for 50th Anniversary's Jean Michael Jarre tribute album :)
I had an O3R/W for years around that time. Loved it. Pushed it to the limits with my Kawai Q-80 sequencer. before I upgraded to a used K2000. Oh the glory days of editing sequences on a 2 line ~16 character LCD screen. The K2000 was a big screen upgrade but still limited. Truth is, I feel like I worked better in that paradigm, for some crazy reason. All this high-rez full-screen power now - too easy to get distracted I think. Maybe I should run Cubase at 320x480 and see how much I like it :-)
@David Storfer - "All this high-rez full-screen power now - too easy to get distracted I think. Maybe I should run Cubase at 320x480 and see how much I like it :-)" - Made me crack up - lol. I know I'm too attached to my Cubase on dual monitors to dare that.
I owed an 01/WFD from 1993 to 2003... it was a great tool to use for songwriting at the time. I miss it sometimes. It has some very unique sounds on it that is very hard to replicate.
How many artists that have owned one of these suckers have explored the tone programming in real depth? It’s even more rare than coming across people that know how to program their own sounds on a DX7.
+Lyan Savona I really can't believe what you've done with the O1/W. You've really pushed the envelope, & utilized the full power & potential of the O1/W. I don't think I've ever heard better O1/W demos, than the ones you've created. Great job, really!
Lyan Sav ii own a korg t1 now. Waited long to get one in best condition. It is an icon. And i treat it like an icon. I feel so blessed with this masterpiece and i want to thank all people who created this icon. You are heroes and will never be forgotten.
Even if the technology to create this sort of presentation has improved since the 90s, not to mention all the synthesizers I’ve purchased since then, I still find myself longing to own and play an 01W, specifically the Pro X edition for its keyboard touch and rugged construction.
I didn't have the Pro version--just plain 01/W in 1992 or so, but... wow. Stunning. And I've been a Floyd fan since the vinyl of Atom Heart Mother and Umma Gumma came out. Way to go. :) The 01/W was my first foray into using a synth-workstation (I used to be a singer-songwriter-singer (aspiring for a long time, but life went in an other direction). The 01/W opened a whole new world to me, and for an untrained, never studied music, I was kind of blown away at what I could compose. Don't have it anymore (got a used Trinity HDR a few years later) -- but wish I could have been able to transfer some of the 01/W's patches. A unique classic workstation.
I panicked and sold it before I got my Trinity. (On an OT, can't figure out why my posting above is almost all struck out.... Nothing weird or offensive. Never seen this before.)
Love it! I still have an 01/W Pro... Do you perhaps have the disc (or file) for this brilliant rendition I could purchase from you just to show off the 27 yr old "Workstation" in all its glory to my friends? The 01/W is still IMHO one of the warmest sounding digital synth ever made! Can you also verify that the name "01/W" was coined after a Korg engineer mistakenly wrote it down that way while looking at a prototype unit called "M/10" while it was facing away from him? Ha! Thats the urban legend I heard at least!
@GIULSAV Ciao davvero complimenti!!!!! Grazie in anticipo.
