Heres the most nuclear hot take that makes people call me a contrarian, poser, whatever, But I believe it fully.
Fromsoft has only made 7 good games. Kingsfield 1,3,4 Shadow tower 1 and Armored core 1,2,3. After 2002 their game design started to take turns for the worst, introducing many flaws upon already working formulas. Armored core 4 and 5 were ruined with a boost centric gameplay, turning the strategically heavy mechs into literal jets. And the entire soulsborne formula is ruined by 1 dimensional gameplay where all that matters is rolling and press r1, Aka roll spam. I was so appalled by dark souls 3's boss design that I write off Elden ring as a joke and see no reason to force myself to play a bad game like that one.
