the insane part about Geoff is that the lad doesn’t even consider himself a bass, he calls himself a baritone with bass range, but his normal talking voice is literally underground lol.
No one does Disney like VoicePlay. Nearly all (if not all) of the guys have experience working as musical performers for the park, and DIsney has even asked VoicePlay to create some arrangements for some of their projects (you can find a video about this on VoicePlay's channel ("Behind the Scenes- Disney Sessions (Aladdin)"). They did a series of videos called ACA Top 10, and included in this series are Top 10 Disney Heroes, Top 10 Disney Villains, and Top 10 Disney Sidekicks. Unlike most of VoicePlay's videos, these are live recordings, so you can hear just how tight they actually are. They've also done a Frozen 2 Medley. Other Disney songs (not medleys) that they've done include We Don't Talk About Bruno, Go The Distance, Friends on the Other Side, and more.
They have a Frozen2 medley and several "Aca top 10" Disney videos as well as full length versions of We Don't Talk About Bruno and Friends on the Other Side as well as most of Nightmare Before Christmas
It's the smoothness of Geoff's tone that sets him apart from most bass singers. And yes he has a wide range of five octaves, and the smooth tone carried across thema ll. Some liken it to honey or butter, but whatever it is, it's special. They've done a Moana Medley too, also Wicked, and The Greatest Showman, for starters.
Layne has a wonderful voice. He wasn't always the beatboxer for the group. He stepped up and took over when Scott Porter left the group to pursue his acting career.
Geoff has a range in 2022 of A0 to A5 for a range of 5 octaves. Astounding. Wicked is great. It took Geoff a couple of years to get the arrangement just right. Phantom of the Opera, and We Don't Talk About Bruno are also great.
A lot of people think it is a different singer when they first hear Geoff flip from his very low to his higher ranges. He has said that he gets that comment a lot, that it sounds like a completely different person, but he himself doesn't hear that. I think I found it more disconcerting when I first started listening to him to hear him singing in his upper ranges and realize that it was still Geoff. But now I've gotten kind of used to the beautiful sound of his voice no matter where on the piano keyboard he's singing at the time.
Honestly as someone who has gone deep into the VoicePlay/Geoff Castellucci rabbit hole I am realizing I actually like his tenor/falsetto a bit more than I like his bass voice
Rachel Potter worked for Disney in Orlando, singing Ariel for several years. She reckoned she sung that role >9000 times, so she really is representing Ariel here. VP has We Don't Talk About Bruno, Frozen 2 and a lot of Aca Top Tens Disney side-kicks,villains etc.
If you want more Disney I have to recommend their ACA Top 10 Disney Heroes, ACA Top 10 Disney Villains and ACA Top 10 Disney Sidekicks. And also if you just want more medleys from them the Greatest Showman Medley and Wicked Medley they did are both amazing performances. Also I have to recommend their covers of the Halo theme and the Dragonborne Comes Skyrim theme.
Geoff’s vocal range is almost 5 octaves. B0 - A5. Check out the songs “High and Dry” and “Blackbird” on his own channel to get a good listen to his range.
They have done a lot of Disney medley‘s and covers as well as their ACA top 10 assortment. One of my favorites, especially around Halloween, is their Grim Grinning Ghosts from the theme parks haunted mansion. They also did four songs from Tim Burtons nightmare before Christmas. Oogie Boogie‘s song is my favorite from those four. Also check out their mini channel! They recently did a couple of shorts from the theme park: the tiki room (absolutely delightful) as well as the pirate song from the ride Pirates of the Caribbean. You can also find Remember Me from Coco and Surface Pressure from Bruno. On Geoff’s personal channel he did the Headless Horseman from a movie from my childhood, (and I am very old) the legend of sleepy hollow. But don’t limit yourself to the Disney stuff as great as it is because they are simply phenomenal. If you are a Disney fan you *need* to check out PattyCake Productions. It is co- owned by Layne Stein, the insanely talented beatboxer with Tony Wakim, who had been their baritone from 2010 to 2016. (He took that position when Lane switched from baritone to beat boxer.) PattyCake has done an original series called villains lair where they have actors portraying the cartoon villains from the Disney franchise. They are trying to get back in power after being banished. Extremely entertaining and it’s fun to catch all the new characters as they show. They’ve also done several other Disney related videos in their unexpected musical series as well as an original Cruella song. One of my favorites recently is the villains in the haunted house. It is a series of villains from the live action Disney franchise. The likenesses are pretty spot on. All of Patti cakes things are so underrated and I would love to see you do a reaction to one of them. I would probably start out with the villains in the haunted house so that you can see just how particular they are about portraying the characters.
Oh, my friend, you have no idea how much I enjoyed this reaction. Watching you see/hear and appreciate them made my heart happy! For your next reaction, you should check out their We Don't Talk About Bruno. For a great medley, they did Wicked. It is astonishing, trust me. The bass, Geoff Castellucci, started doing solo work during the pandemic. He has more than a dozen pieces with another coming in a few days. Sixteen Tons was the first one I saw, which led me to Voiceplay. I highly recommend House of the Rising Sun and Shenandoah as well. Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay!
I love this medley from Voiceplay. I am always happy to listen to it because it's just so well done. I adore Ursula, she is one of my very favorite Disney villains and I think Pat Carroll was absolutely perfect as the voice of Ursula in the movie. But, I think Geoff has an absolutely stunning take on Ursula and would be completely perfect in a new version of The Little Mermaid. I feel this way because the original movie version was very pushy "listen to me, do what I say, I'm not going to give you even enough time to think about what is going on". But Geoff's version has a smoother vocal tone, far less brassy and pushy, so it comes across as far more subtly manipulative and coercive rather than pushy. Which is both amazing and terrifying at the same time. I think Layne is hilarious as the chef (one of my favorite almost non-sequitor songs), Eli makes a weirdly fantastic seagull, Rachel and J. None are just perfect... yeah, the whole thing is just wonderful and on my very short list of favorite songs that can be played more than once every day or two.
Voiceplay does an amazing version of Enemy from Arcane. AleXa is the featured singer. They also do a great version of Rich Man/Girl from Fiddler on the Roof with Ashley Diane.
You have CLEARLY not watch the Oogie Boogie song by VoicePlay. Your amazement about his range loudly tell us that much. Go head and react to this one, but make sure to bring a pillow to softed the hurt when your jaw will fall and hit the floor.
Looks like you haven't reacted to their covers of Wicked (with Rachel, who played it on Broadway), or We Don't Talk About Bruno - both of which are stunning Disney performances. I don't remember if you did Hoist the Colors - that's another spectacular Disney (Pirates of the Caribbean) And of course, if you're going to get to know VoicePlay, sooner or later you're going to have to do Once Upon a Dream. It's inevitable and memorable. Put it on your list. (It's also Disney). For Mermaid: Layne (beatbox) did the arrangement. If it's got deranged comic elements and/or Geoff goes from low bass to a tenor rock scream - probably Layne arranged it. (Layne also arranged Bruno, and Geoff arranged Wicked.) As here, Layne often grabs the comic character voices, but he has also has a breathtakingly angelic baritone singing voice.
Great reaction!! I recommend frozen 2 medly by voiceplay. Its one of my favorites. Also would love to see a reaction the "the bass gang" their cover of centuries is amazing.
Frozen 2 is not one of my favorite movies, but I watch their medley over and over again partly because it’s Adriana’s first. It was a surprise birthday gift for her 15th birthday from VoicePlay and her dad who is very close friends with Geoff.
If you haven't heard of Voctave you might wanna check them out...11 member a capella group (all of whom have worked or continue to work for Disney in Orlando) with no beatboxing, but they are amazing.
Geoff has at least 5 octave range, try his own channel and Blackbird by the Beatles or High and Dry for demonstration of his higher ranges, beautiful mid range as well as phenomenal bass
Check out VPs Hellfire (Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame), Wicked is wonderful, Boy Bands in 5 Minutes, Queen in 5 Minutes, We Don't Talk About Bruno, Greatest Showman.
the insane part about Geoff is that the lad doesn’t even consider himself a bass, he calls himself a baritone with bass range, but his normal talking voice is literally underground lol.
Their We Don’t Talk About Bruno is obscenely good. For Geoff’s range I live for Oogie Boogie’s song from Nightmare Before Christmas
He 100% needs to do a reaction to both! Asap!
Yes, and yes. Both are great!
He did oogie boogie earlier

geoff can sing both really high and really low man can do both easy

@@joshuaebel7096 I admit, I like listening to the karaoke tracks he releases for the patrons in order to hear those beautiful bari/tenor vocals.
I’ve also found that he can basically sing onto most “keys” of the piano, and still sound amazinf
Some personal favorites from them for future notice: hoist the colors, if i was a rich man/girl, halo, the dragonborn comes,…
Just to name a few
ooogie boogie is one of there best ones
Yesssssss
You should definitely react to their queen medley as well. It’s amazing to me, and the acting on top of the vocals is top tier.
The greatest showman medley and the Wicked medley are absolute fire.

"worked for Disney in Orlando" same for most of the original member of VP hehe
All the ones you listed are bomb, but like all of them are so

@@mattc8637 Really? Where does he hit the A0 or B5?
@@melissag1976 he hit an A0 growl in Enemy apparently
Geoff Castellucci (the bass) is incredible. I really hope you watch more of him.

Geoff Castellucci is such an insane vocalist! Also of you want more Disney you should watch Voctaves' Disney medleys.
Check out Geoff’s version of High and Dry if you want to hear how insane his vocal range is.

Look into their Aca Top Ten vids too. They are short but quite entertaining
We definitely need more Voiceplay, pleaseeeeee
Friends on the other side by voice play is another great Disney song they do.
Excellent reaction! Definitely check out more Voiceplay-and Geoff has his own channel with lots of great songs.
Deep voice is Geoff Castelucci he has his own channel and does covers of other songs not just Disney, check it out when you have the chance

Gotta check out boy band medley

Can u please react to Geoff sing Shendendoah!
You need to do their Wicked Medley, it is unreal!
He did his own cover of Ain't No Sunshine. Doesn't show his full range, I don't think, but MAN is it good. You owe it to yourself to watch it.
Definitely do we don't talk about Bruno by them. It's FABULOUS
I highly recommend the "Hoist the Colors" and "Enemy" videos if you're looking for more VoicePlay to react to.
I just love this reaction! You are genuinely so enthralled. I love it!!!
Glad you enjoy it!
"We are definitely gonna be doing more Voiceplay." He says... 8 months ago.
2:32 a glottal flip. Haha
Todrick Hall & Shoshana Bean - 90’s Disney Medley. Todrick may be in hot water at the moment, but can’t dent his brain works so good artistically
You should really do "This Is Halloween". It's one of my favorites from them.
Geoff has at least 5 octave range, try his own channel and Blackbird by the Beatles or High and Dry for demonstration of his higher ranges, beautiful mid range as well as phenomenal bass
More Voiceplay please!! ❤
If you want to hear fantastic Disney medleys, then you gotta head to Voctave. Voctave Disney Princess medley is so damn insane
Check out VPs Hellfire (Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame), Wicked is wonderful, Boy Bands in 5 Minutes, Queen in 5 Minutes, We Don't Talk About Bruno, Greatest Showman.
Cool.
I feel uneasy every time a reactor takes a drink on Voiceplay videos - it's to easy to get wrong
please you gotta react to hoist the colors by voiceplay
MayTree is great but the songs are mostly snippets.
