Wow this is so exciting and Amazing!!!! You are such a successful person!! I really look up to you! Congratulations on your move and what you have accomplished so far!!🎉👏🥳
Welcome to Taiwan!! Hope you have a great time here =D I think you can travel around the island if you have time to travel, the south and east of Taiwan have beautiful scenes!!
Why do you have a bag from 侯漢廷, who is a city councilor of Taipei. As a Taiwanese, I am a supporter of his political party and he is a fantastic person for the job. Just curious about that bag. Welcome to Taiwan, I am also at Taiwan!
Hey! That’s great to hear. I’m also moving back to Taiwan for a year (I’m Taiwanese Canadian) after taking some time off school. I really hope that you can enjoy your stay in Taiwan and have chances to improve your Taiwanese! Just as a side note, depending on where you are - if you’re in a big city, there’re plenty of language exchange meets at cafes and or bars that you can drop in to (some have fees). They generally have Mandarin tables (and tables for other foreign languages) where you can practice speaking with other people. You can find out about these kinds of meetups by looking for language exchange facebook groups in your city / area. I have been to about 8-10 meetups in the past (during the summer) for German, French, and Japanese, and they always had a native speaker stationed at each table to guide the conversation. I find those to be super helpful in improving your speaking skills, so if you get a chance, do check them out!
Being of similar heritage and frustrated that I couldn't really understand 華語和台語, I did the same thing after graduating in 2018 (CLD NTU). It was an unforgettable experience. Enjoy your time in Taiwan!!
Huge WELCOME!!! Taiwan is a fantastic , convenient and "tasty" place~~enjoy it! (though I just came to US from Taiwan for graduate school this semester~~lol)
You want to learn “ Chinese “ okay, in Taiwan we call mandarin as Taiwanese national language , you are Taiwanese American not Chinese American, you are ABT, not ABC.
Does the "langoo" tastes like a cross between an apple and a pear? Could you film somebody making those "tea" eggs? hope you will film street food and describe how to attempt making those food at home. Are cherry blossoms popular? a big to do in Taiwan?
It’s called Lian-bu (蓮霧, liánwù in Mandarin Chinese). Imho It tastes more like a less-sweet version of apple, but the texture is very different, like styrofoam, not in a bad way though.
Omg you are so cute >< I discovered your channel while in quarantine in Taiwan haha. Congrats on completing your 14 days :) I'm still in quarantine atm so I'm using my time to plan the things I want to do in Taiwan since I'll have to leave again in June :(( I still have to work remotely for the time I am here too (btw I am also a software engineer! so cool that you studied CS at freaking Stanford what a queen) But It's definitely a lot harder to enjoy everything if you are also working. Happy for you that you decided to come live in Taiwan before you start your job, really wish I did the same ._. Anyways great video happy I found you :)
If I go back to taiwan I'd likely be arrested at airport and transport to the breach as reserved ground troops waiting to be shelled and digging sandbags
You have been living your life so chilled and all by yourself, I wonder where are your parents and siblings ? I wish to live a life like this. I am tired of giving answers and reasons for everything to my parents!
Hello! Taiwanese studying at berkeley, I really want to do what you're doing one day!! I speak Chinese but it could definitely be better, can't wait to see more of your experience in taiwan! definitely do food vlogs, the food there is the BEST :) Also, how are you financing this trip?
as someone who is korean born but moved to the united states v young, i 100% understand and support moving back east to explore who you are; definitely something i plan to do after i finish med school
Good luck for everything in the future! 🙂🤞 I made the transition from College/Uni to working life decades ago now, but I remember it was *very* different. My guess is it might be a bit tricky to Vlog within the Reddit grounds themselves, I know where I work would be nervous in case I accidentally film someone's personal details on a monitor 35 metres away 😜 So I'm not sure how you'll tackle the Vlogging in the new life but hoping you do keep it up (if only to show an old dude like me how to do it!) 🙂
@@doga1981 No no, I meant the National Taiwan Normal University, not the National Tsing Hua University (they do not accept students from non-partner universities, that's why I choose either NTNU or NCTU :))

I love 茶葉蛋too, but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to have more than 2 per day....I had 1 per day when I was in high school as it’s the cheapest breakfast I could get, and I found that I had high cholesterol before graduation
ideas for future videos. Are you allowed to walk around ( covid restrictions) in Taiwan? If yes, in a future video, can you answer a question at a cafe? with a pastry of the place? then in front of the library? or another cute building we should know about? Take us on a hike in a park? or is it like the US, a lot of homeless people in parks? i do not know. Show us Taiwan like if you were a star in a Kdrama. They always film their scene at different cute spots around Seoul and such. I love it. i feel i am traveling
I just applied to the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship!! Will find out in May if I got it 😊 I’m wondering, we’re you able to go to Taiwan on a student visa? I was told that even if I get the scholarship I may or may not be granted entry to Taiwan 😮
Anyone from Taiwan knows if people there are ok with black and people from latin america? I'm black and latina, and i wish to know if theres a big prejudice or its ok 😊
Just be careful when you walk on the street in Taiwan. Sure, Taiwanese people are friendly, but the Taiwanese traffic is down right SCARY dangerous. In fact, a common Taiwanese farewell is "Be careful of the traffic on your way home.". That should tell you how chaotic Taiwanese people drive. Even my own parents still drive like stereotypical American teenagers who just got their licenses over there.
yayyy! welcome to taiwan !! taiwan is truly the most safe place on the planet! so safe you're gonna be scared once you're out travelling (if this happens anytime soon lol..) you're gonna love the warm people around you! and the food are so so good that you will need to control eventually xD last but not least the outdoor activities are just so convenient, so fun and amazing !! ;) 😉

Hi Tiffany. I came across your channel for the first time and very happy to hear that you're moving to Taiwan! I'm in Taipei. Let me know if you need any help here! =)
Hearing about ur relatives dropping off food made me tear up a lil 🥲 a second gen immigrant experience not talked enough about is missing out on building relationships with extended family. You often grow up with few accessible family members. And its overwhelming, in a good way, when you occasionally visit the motherland and get lovebombed with love by so many strangers who know who you are and your entire history, even though you've never heard of them in your life. It's so different than the experience back home where youre constantly having to identify and explain who you are to yourself and to others.
