Notes I took on this video:
    1. You can learn about life in the classroom
    2. Failure builds character. Although failure sucks, sometimes its the best thing for you.
    3. Don’t waste time being someone you’re not.
    4. How much you put in doesn’t always correlate with how much you get out. That’s just life. Either work harder or choose to pivot.
    5. Allow yourself to wander and explore and discover what your interests are.
    6. Getting older is cool. Getting older opens up so many more doors. Things come with time age and maturity.
    7. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Don’t tie your identity to one thing. You’re bound to get disappointed at one point.
    8. Reach out to people! People are way more willing to help you than you realize. People are willing to help as long as you show you are genuinely interested.
    9. If you see something you can change it, you have more power than you know. She started a CS mentorship program at Stanford :) it happened cuz she was willing to talk about her frustrations with the President
    10. Adults are still figuring it out too. There is no age where you hit where everything will suddenly make sense. Take opportunities as they come. You don’t have to have every detail figured out.

I'm not in college yet but here are two things I learned in 2020!
    1) Your happiness does not depend on other people or the events that life throws at you, you, you're the only person that can make you happy.
    2) There is no need to compare with someone else's successes or to be jealous about something you don't have, be genuinely happy for others knowing that you have more in store in your future as well :)

HI Tiffany, I would like to ask what are job titles you considered when you knew that prefer interact with people rather than sitting and coding all day
I fear that I might be in your position in the future, but have't figured out the advantage of having a CS conversion degree.(i had management degree for my bachelor )
Is that also possible you might share more details being as an intern in reddit, how you prepare reddit PM interview,
and what's the foreseeable daily life of working as a PM based on your intern observation. I would greatly appreciate if you could share, thank you

This is so great but now I'm no longer a college student but sharing my experience is that
    1. Sometimes you work hard everyday and it'll not give you the expected results and at that point don't be sad or loose hope just take a day off and start again with a fresh mindset maybe you will find something you never thought before.
    2. Sometimes the answers are very simple and obvious just need to think with a different perspective

One thing that I have learned in my 3 years of undergrad, is that everything around us, from the financial systems to the laws of physics were either constructed or discovered by people not much smarter than us...they just had stronger intellectual vitality and fervent passions for their respective fields. So you shouldn’t discount yourself. If they can do it, why not you or I?

Enjoy listening and watching 👀 👌 I'm curious what Reddit does and what products you will be promoting. You are following a similar path that I started on, you follow Steve Jobs (I follow Bill Gates), you got a Bachelor in Computer Science (I was programming in computer science in high school). Graduation was slim pickings for jobs due to a "bad economy" (not sure how it compares to now). You spoke of another internship at Reddit (yet did an internship at Lenovo), why not a full-time position at Reddit? I was promised a product management position if I did certain things then reality hit hard that I was not being told exactly what was true. Now, I wonder why there were no computer science Bachelor's offered on the East Coast. Love to set up a time to speak with you if at all possible. Women in the sciences is the focus.

How can you trust in God's existence? Like what makes to believe in God? How you are consistent in seeking God when you are surrounded by people and technology which challenges everything you believe?

    • @TiffanyOng
      @TiffanyOng  3 роки тому +1

For me, believing came down to a long journey of research and questioning where I examined the history and evidence of the events in the Bible (through talking with Christians and taking classes). As for your second question, I don't see technology and religion as opposites in any way.

As someone planning to take Computer Science, this really helped me feel better about deciding on a career choice. Some schools ask what dream job is or what you plan to do during/after college, and I never really know what to write; I want to be a CS major but I don’t know much about the field so I’m hoping to use college as a place to learn what type of career paths are out there. I’m happy to know that this is normal and that I don’t have to force myself to fit in with other CS majors & what they want to do. Thank you!
