Wild series of events that led to this old Northern Wisconsin bruiser of a Musky!! Side imaging & upsizing lures to catch a fish that already ate once in the figure 8!!
Most people say to downsize when the fish is in a negative or neutral mood. This fish was not, as it had just tried to eat the mid size medussa. Throwing back a bigger presentation at an active or aggressive fish will trigger the strike more so than downsizing in my experience. Reading these fish’s mood is part of the success.
