Really interesting to hear what other people think about America! As an American who has traveled across the country, and lived in a different state than I was born in, I think the best part of being in America is the fact that you can live an incredibly diverse and different way just by going to a different part of the country while still being a true American. I can't wait to experience Germany for myself. Love You Connor!!!!!

Excellent video, Connor. When I was a foreign exchange student in Goettingen (1975-76), there was no internet or WWW, of course. I did speak to many Germans as well as foreign exchange students from other countries. I had relatives in Austria. I enjoyed hearing their opinions and thoughts about the USA, but certainly had my eyes opened a number of times about what others think about the US. This gave me a much more complete picture of the place of the USA in the world. Gives one a whole new perspective on American "exceptionalism."
I also did a clinical rotation in Koeln during medical school in 1982. It was fabulous to see how medical care could be approached differently in Germany, esp concerning the health insurance system. As you know, our health insurance system in the USA has so many flaws and so many people excluded from coverage for various reasons. This drove me crazy for the 32 years I practiced urology.
BTW, even as a Nicht-Muttersprachler I can tell what a great command of German you have! All the best to you. :)

I personally like america. I like especially the people, when I was lost (here in Germany) I encountered a friendly american who helped me to find my way. He was not very formally but still very kind and helpful. He was a kinda easy going and relaxed person and very pleasant to talk with.
I also love the music, especially Frank Sinatra. And the movies and TV Shows.
The food is a little bit too fat and hearty to me, I prefer italian kitchen, however sometimes I like to eat some Burgers If my health allows it.
But what I don't like is the fact many of them are racist. I mean sure, racism is a problem in every country but in the USA this seems to be much more "fundamental" (I find no other word for what I want to express I'm sorry) I think. Many seem think that germans are still Nazis and we Italians are Mafiosi, Pizza-Baker or plumber with mustaches *cough*
Okay in my case the stereotype with the mustache is accurate 😬
Also their law system and the fact that it is based on revenge.
A criminal is no human for them anymore. For them, from my impression, it is probably okay to torture them, to kill them or other things. Just look how the inmates are treated like animals. If you treat people like an animal they eventually turn into one.
This is what I find hypocritical about them: On the other hand they like to preach the Bible but when it comes to these things they do the opposite of what the Bible says.
Didn't Jesus teach to love and forgive, to fight evil not with evil?
Also their education system is not really effective, alltough I have to admit that our german education system is also not very up to date.
These are some thinks I really don't like about the USA. However I have to say many of those things are not really the fault of the regular american people, more like a problem of it's government or law.
But I really hope that these things will change in a few decades.
I think the Friendship between Europe and America is really important because we have to make sure there is safety, freedom and democracy in our world.
Sorry for my bad english, I really liked this video. Thanks for your work 🙏

Liberalism and pacifism isn’t a Christian value. You like to use that to subvert scripture and try to spread agendas with it. With the crime issue, the U.S is way too soft on it. Look at San Francisco, it looks like a third world country and now shops are closing down out there. This sort of weak and passive mentality is how countries become destroyed. As for the race issue it’s pretty much common sense. The U.S. is extremely multicultural and diverse, so you have all of these different ethnic groups from around the world with different interests. Historically speaking, this leads to ethnic conflict and disaster (a perfect example being the Yugoslavia Wars). It’s easy for you to virtue signal about racism that you see on TV propaganda, while you live in the comfort of a mostly homogeneous 1st world country where there is common roots and ground.

I wouldn't take politics to build myself an opinion about a country. A country is mostly made by the people and there are a lot of countries with fucked up politics but great people. For example Russia or China, well both aren't democratic but also Poland is technically a democracy and I do like them even though their government only does shit. But I can agree with you that the US probably has a too big ego and too much patriotism (of course not everyone is like this)

Sehr gut, junger Mann!

It's kinda interesting how conservative and liberal are two different concepts between the US, and most other countries. Many European and Asian countries are much more culturally conservative, with traditions, societal rules, ect.. Where as here in the US, freedom rings true and people do what they want to do long as they aren't getting arrested or sued. Also while Americans are very social and open in public, people here are also a lot more likely to aggressively confront someone, stand your ground so to say. I guess here in America we're friendly thugs? We're socially open and chat with strangers a lot, but double cross us and we can be quite vindictive. It can also vary state by state, region by region. The US is a big place with many different sub-cultures and ways of life, and like in many places of the world. rural areas tend to be more hospitable, helpful, and friendly. Urban areas tend to be a bit more hostile, and indifferent.
Politics here in the US are also quite different, much more black and white, or really red vs blue. Not all but quite a few treat politics almost like religion, me and my sister for example have been at each others throats a few times, all over differing views in politics. If your open about your opinions here, be prepared for love and hate. I've had friends and co-workers as well as some family cut ties, after I became outspoken about my political views, one reason I stopped using social media all together. (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, ect..)
The US is a strange, wonderful, and unique place compared to most other nations. I've never been outside the US, but my ancestors are mostly from Germany, and the UK. (Just a dash of Cherokee too, my great great grandpa was a Cherokee) Interestingly enough I was born in Guam, because my mom was in the Air Force. Surprising how many people here in the US I've talked to don't even know where or what a Guam is lol. Considering the role it played in WW2..😅

The one thing Americans don't care for is when you move here and make no attempt at assimilating into our culture. I appreciate German candor and I consider sincerely constructive criticism. However I don't care for the way Germans can, for example, go to the Sistine Chapel and see only the garbage can in the corner. "Look how it's rusted. The smell is just awful. When is the last time they emptied it? It's such an eye sore and they failed to put it in an inconspicuous location." And they do this with everybody and everything everywhere, not just when expressing their opinions about some one country like America. It's mentally draining when they can't bring themselves to balance the bad with the good.
