For those who haven’t checked my description box, this video is NOT sponsored. Amika didn’t pay me for this review and don’t even know that I made this video for the product. I purchased the brush and kit with MY OWN money because I enjoy reviewing hair tools! Please check my description box if you’re ever curious which video is sponsored. I will also ALWAYS mention in the video if the video is sponsored and if the products were sent to me. These were NOT. I TRULY LOVE using this hair dryer round brush.
That brush is made for Caucasian women as a hairstylist I know that round brushing isn't very easy to do on yourself. If ur black and have 4c hair dont buy this it will pull out alot of hair. Stick with the Revlon brush.

This blow dryer is suppose to mimic a salon blowout so you don’t have to hold a round brush and a blow dryer at the same time. You’re suppose to rotate the brush continuously, well based on the blow out tutorials I’ve seen.
Right! I was hoping she would eventually start turning the brush. She tried after it was dry but you have to do it while the hair can be manipulated while wet.
Well!...Yall str8 up sound like yall know what yall talking about...so? Any vids of youtubers with 4c hair using this tool that any of you can recommend?
Well guys, I bought the melanin shampoo and my hair loves it. It has a bouncy stretch which I never had. I use all the hair products ( oil, conditioner and curl definition). I'm serious, my hair is thicker and have grown over 2 inches since October 2020 to now. My hair loves these products. Thanks for all you do for the natural women.❤🙏
Agree Whitney - the Rev fries my hair with high heat too and I could see by how much with your direct comparison of the brushes. Suggestion for next video comparison - comb attachment blow dryers. I love this method and feel like it’s the most gentle on my hair (4b/c)x
I love you so much. One of the main reasons why I went natural and I like the fact that you’re always willing to try new things and you are willing to listen to your followers
I just bought that Revlon blowdryer today after watching your older vids, lol. But I borrowed one before and loved the results, so I'm still excited to get it! Love to see you back with a new one!!
Round brushes are used to put a bump or bend towards the end of the hair and create smooth body while drying the hair. You have to rotate/twist it multiple times towards the end of one pass to achieve the styling objectives. Hope you this helps.
Hey I just purchased the Revlon weeks ago, and still haven't used it yet! So, thank you for the comparison video and seeing how to use it too! Be blessed!😊
Yes I couldn't find the paddle one so I actually got the round one to begin with. I think I would prefer the round brush over the paddle though if I ever got a paddle brush dryer. $100 is a lil too steep a price im willing to go for. But I can't be talking about prices I'm willing to put up with when I'm always buying natural hair products that cost like $30 bucks each lol 😅🤷♀️
I absolutely love your leave in conditioner, my hair has never been so soft. It sells out really fast at my Ulta . Last time I was there I bought three. I don’t want to run out. I have a ton of hair.
Listen I have type 4 (most likely 4B) hair and your Multi use Leave in Conditioner does everything is says. I can detangle my hair and my son's hair so nicely. Also, leaves our hair so moisturized and soft. Can't wait to try the other products. Love you girl!
So happy I came here, I googled the best blow dryers/blow dryer brushes for curly hair and this came up in both searches and your video sealed the deal. Thanks for an honest review 🥰
Ahh!! 😭😭🙏🏾 Thank you so much Purnell!! I’m so happy you love your Melanin Haircare products!! 🥰🥰🥰 I’m so happy to have been able to help along your hair journey!! 🤗❤️❤️❤️
This came out great. I was recently looking into blowdryer brushes because im tired of how long it takes me to blow dry my hair with a regular blowdryer and brush. Great video!
Go back to her old videos from 10 years ago. She has been consistent using other product. It's the techniques that helps with hair growth and overall health of your hair. Also knowing your hair porosity and what is best for your hair. So it's not her product alone. And she just put out this product maybe a year ago
@@mariecharles212 she did use other deep conditioners and shampoo sometimes, but her products are based off of her diys, which she has been using for years.
@@mariecharles212 exactly. It's not product alone. Overall health. If you take away the products and replace with something else new... send still have to maintain inner body health. Facts!
I finally purchased your products at Ulta. The day I went in they had received a shipment that day. It’s priced the same, and they said it sells out fast. I’m loving the elong cream. Thanks for the review on this brush. I was hoping the price point would be lower. Since being natural, I only added heat less than 5x since 2011. I’ll keep checking for a discount.
Get your Melanin products...they were out of stock for a while...but baby its worth the wait...i learned so much from you...and i look forward to learning more
I was so pleased and a little surprised to see that you uploaded a video. Though I've been subscribed to your channel for years I haven't received any notifications from you. It's odd. UA-cam does that sometimes. So I'm glad that I watched a video of yours. I would like to try the Amika (I apologize if I misspelled it) if the results is soft hair. It's been a while since I've blow dried my hair. Normally I use the black hair bands on sectioned hair and sit under the hooded dryer to stretch my hair. It was good to see you. Congratulations on your hair care line being in Ulta! I don't know you but I'm proud of you. Have a great weekend.
I'm late (by a month) but just in case, when you get to the ends, spin the brush under ( or over) as you pull to the end, and keep doing the gentle tug towards the ends in tandem with spinning the brush. It should glide not tangle as you spin. The result is smoother/straighter, less puffy ends. As you get better at the technique you can do the gentle tug and spin about halfway up the length of your hair. Again, the hair should not get caught if you're doing the spin and gentle tug with the correct tension.
I love love the Revlon brush. I got it for myself last Christmas. This Christmas I'm going to Ulta to get your whole collection. Can't wait to try Melanin out. Good thing i live somewhere with not many poc. It's sold out everywhere online.

I saw you in Elle magazine again 🥳🙏🏼 I let my hair air dry then blow dry with a comb attachment. Using a rotating blow dryer brush on wavy/curly tailbone length hair takes forever, even when a stylist did it for me 🤭

OMG thank you for this. The revlon one gets way too hot for me. I am purchasing this one. Also I’d seen your videos years ago and it was great to find your channel again!!
I have the Revlon rounded dryer and on damp hair the way I use it is working my way up from the ends (as you did) and when I reach the roots I start rotating the brush to create tension then smooth all my strands downward. Mine is '4a/3c' hair but I've used it the same way on other types. Also, it does get hot but that's why I air-dry for a bit first and work quickly to avoid damage. Thanks for sharing
Hiiiiii Whit, glad to see you're back:-) I have the Revlon one-step (it's made just like the one you're using) and I actually love it. I was really surprised at how quickly I was able to dry my thick, shoulder length hair. You should give it a try (less than $100}. Love your videos and products. Keep up the good work!
Is that the one step dryer that looks like a paddle brush? I'm debating getting it for my 4c hair tbh, I've also seen the Revlon volumizer one and both are at reasonable prices I think
@@michanforever i just bought the Revlon one. I was afraid at first because I have different textures throughout my hair & but it was great 👍. My only thing is I don't want to get heat damage so I'm not sure how frequently I can use it.

Great review, Whit! But I think I'll pass on that one, those bristles would not work on my type 4b hair.
🥰
I see nap, I click. Forever a fan. 🖤🖤🖤
Love u gurl please post more🙏 however I do have that Revlon blow dryer brush and I will try the Amika brush because I love a round brush 💖 also love love love your hair care line even caught hubby using the shampoo lol 😂
OMG thank you for this. The revlon one gets way too hot for me. I am purchasing this one. Also I’d seen your videos years ago and it was great to find your channel again!!
Whitney good to see you your hair look nice and smooth merry Christmas 😉😉🎄
Welcome back... Happy to see u❤️❤️
Appreciate the comparison of the two
Looooving the results for both 😍
Great timing, lol I was just about to get one of these blow dryer brushes! Thanks for your insight!
You do the best comparison videos. I love the details. Thank you ❤
We missed you too Whit!!❤️
Whitney I just love you so much!💖 Your hair looks good and I'm so happy with your products. I finally found something for my dry hair. Keep going up!😘
Aw! Thank you Breanna!! 🥰🙏🏾❤️❤️
Revlon has a newer brush dryer that looks like the amika one. I will stick with the revlon brush. It was a game changer for me.
Is that the one step dryer that looks like a paddle brush? I'm debating getting it for my 4c hair tbh, I've also seen the Revlon volumizer one and both are at reasonable prices I think
@@michanforever Kurlyphro has a comparison on the two revlon products from 11 months ago.
@@michanforever i just bought the Revlon one. I was afraid at first because I have different textures throughout my hair & but it was great 👍. My only thing is I don't want to get heat damage so I'm not sure how frequently I can use it.
@@Goldlion10 thank you for the heads up! I’ll check that out :)
@@riychu070 awesome, glad it’s working for you! Personally I don’t blow dry more than every two weeks and I’ve never had heat damage, so I’d say every two/three weeks maximum and use heat protection on damp hair
When Whit does a review I keep my credit card close. Your reviews have never left me astray. I got the Revlon brush on your recommendation and it has been amazing. I'm just here awaiting my melanin haircare order. 😁
Hi everyone!
As of December 6th, Sephora actually does have the set Whitney showcased in this video.

amika take returns. send it back!! ghd had one, im waiting on it to go on sale hopefully for christmas! I forgot to get it on cyber monday!
Hi Whitney,
I’m concerned how this dryer sort of jerks through your hair. Have you tried the Dyson hair dryer with the wide comb attachment. Wish you or I lived near because I’d let you try mine.
Yeah she has, I watched the video a while ago. She wasn’t a fan
Naptural you are the Queen!!
LMBO! Whit yes. You got it. You are hilarious with your expressions. Round brush from underneath holding the brush horizontal to the floor. It gives lift at the roots. Great vid as usual.
Yes!...ur back, i have ur products and waiting on the styling cream and im so excited about styling my hair with them its gonna be like Christmas!...lol
Does the handle get hot in a certain area like the Revlon dryer brush?
Hey Cherish! The handle never gets hot, but the plates on the inside of the brush can! So just don’t touch the actual brush part itself! 👍🏾👍🏾
