Have seen this movie several times. There is a lot of detail in it that I appreciate. The music for the Red October was chosen very well. It really describes how her crew felt. Also listening to this song over and over.

I love this composition and the movie is one of my favorites of all time. Fun fact: when "The Hunt For Red October" premiered in 1990, then-president George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara, invited the cast (and Tom Clancy - writer of the original novel) to the White House for a private screening.

Basil is one of the greatest!
It strikes such a chord with me that this song, which sounds like it should be the national anthem of a nation as powerful as the Soviet Union in its prime, or a grand religious hymn, was made for a movie about submarine warfare
made by an American ... so ironic !!!
I have a similar feeling about the piece "Valkyrie ha", it manages to be a better anthem than many real life anthems, while representing a space empire in an animated show.

Magnificent, beautiful rendering of Basil Polidoris work. Thank you. Such a shame Mr Polidoris isn't with us anymore.... the world of film badly needs talent such as his now. Movie scores have fallen to such lows by 2021.
C'est sublime. Basil Poledouris, qui est aussi connu pour avoir fait la BO de Conan... ha ha ! Un compositeur grec qui compose pour des films hollywoodien un chant des coeur de l'armée rouge... l'ironie s'efface devant la beauté de cette musique universelle et qui rend malgré tout compte du grandiose lié à la Grande Russie fantasmée.
Je pense que c'est son chef d'oeuvre... Il a vraiment mis du coeur a créer la BO de ce film. J'enrage toujours quand je pense qu'il a disparu il y a plus de 10 ans, dans l'indifférence la plus totale...
