    Hi Mod, I think you made a little mistake in the Thai text, in "he looks forward to see his child", shouldn't the word "he" not be เขา instead the เค่า that you used?
    I like the way you explain the Thai language very much, it is very clear and structured, I watched a lot of your videos! Greetings from The Netherlands!

    Hello Mod, Love your vids!! Just wondering if you can you speak any southern language? I've been here in Phuket for a while now but still find southern dialect difficult to listen to. Possible southern dialect video in the future??

    • @ThaiwithMod
      @ThaiwithMod  6 років тому

      Sawatdee ka James, I am actually from the South, but it is very embarrassing to tell you that I can't speak Southern accent. I will sound funny if i try because I was born in Bangkok and moved to my mom's hometown Nakhon Si Thammarat when I was 7. My dad is from a northern province so my mom doesn't speak Southern language at home. At schools teachers don't speak Southern language to students either. I know all the vocabulary and understand everything, but I can't speak in the southern accent. Maybe I will ask my mom to help do a lesson. :)

    • @ThaiwithMod

      ตั้ง /dtâng/ means "to set up something such as business" or "to put something at a certain place", ตา /dtaa/ means "eye" and หน้า /nâa/ means "face"
      อาหารไทย /aa-hăan tai/ is Thai food and แซบ sâp means delicious.

    Hello!
    I am from Brazil. I speak Portuguese but, I also speak English.
    I have a favor to ask you. Can you, please, make a video explaining the correct pronunciation of the words "krup" and "kha"??? Because sometimes people say those words but, they sound different.
    For example, the boys say KRUP but it sounds like KRUB or just RUP with no K. And the letter R sounds like H as in HOUSE or Home, in English, or the letter H sounds like J in Spanish.
    Another example, the girls say KHA but it sounds like HA with no K and the letter H sounds like H as in HELLO or Hi.
    Also, for Portuguese and English speakers, the letters P and B do not have the same sound.
    So, which one is the correct one? Krup or Krub? And what about the number 8 in Thai? Is it Pad (as in Ipad) or Bad (as in Bad Boy)?
    Also, it is a little difficult for me to understand the pronunciation of the letter J in words such as JET (number 7) and Jai (heart). I am not sure whether the letter J in those two examples are similar to the letter J in English or the letter J in Portuguese.
    Sorry for bothering you.
    Thanks for your attention in advance.😊

    This is the first video of yours that I am watching. What is the word ‘láew’ in your first example? Thanks for your channel.

    • @RobertHeslop
      @RobertHeslop 6 років тому +1

      แล้ว - its used as emphasis or confirmation at the end of clauses, at the end of sentences is shows the past tense eg กินแล้ว (kin laew - I ate), or when used with จะ it can indicate the future tense eg ผม/ฉันจะ ... แล้ว (ผมจะไปพรุ่งนี้ซุปเปอร์มาร์เก็ตแล้ว - pom ja pai supermarket laew - tomorrow, I'll go to the supermarket). Also used at the START of words when asked like a question, so like แล้วทำไม? (laew tammai? - and why?) and compound words like ที่แล้ว (thilaew - ago, ห้าวันที่แล้ว haa thi laew - 5 days ago).

    Hi I am actually really confused on how to say "later" in Thai. Eg. Later do you Want to watch a movie.
    Or maybe later
    Or where will you go later etc.
    It'll be really awesome if you could make a video on this please

    • @hubertsaw9958
      @hubertsaw9958 6 років тому

      Rogue Male yeah. But those aren't actually the words for later and before/just now.
      For what I know is
      Later:
      Dieow
      Koi
      Dtor(to be used at the end of sentence only)
      And then/later:
      Leaw
      Leaw gor
      Leaw Koi
      Just now:
      Meûa gee
      Meûa kroo (formal)
      Meûa kroo Nee
      However it's not as straightforward as English. Sometimes when I use dieow koi. They wouldn't understand.
      But when I change to use dtor. They do.
      So basically I don't understand when should I be using the words at which situation. Lol.

    • @hubertsaw9958
      @hubertsaw9958 6 років тому

      Rogue Male yes you used it correctly. What I meant is. It isn't what I am askimg
