    Cut from 18 min footage.
Dynamic and dramatic cup final. Baxter played his last match for Rangers before the transfer to Sunderland. He created at least 3~4 clear goal chances. Brilliant player.
Dundee was directed by famous Bill Shankly and proceeded to European Cup semi final in 1962/63 season. They even beat AC Milan once in their home. Rangers won three cup finals in a row and completed "treble" (League, Cup, League Cup) with this victory. Baxter achived everything he could in Rangers.
(He strolled back for defence as if he was jogging in the park. Two-faced player as always.)

I was there as a 15 year old with my uncle. He was a Dundee fan and I supported Rangers. I never thought we’d get past Slater. He played a blinder in the Dundee goal.

Remember it well. Over 60 years ago. Where does all the Time go?! I managed to get all the Dundee teams autographs, courtesy of Alex Hamilton, God Bless him, he was a wonderful character. The Dundee team were staying at the Hydro Hotel in Crieff on the run up to the Cup Final. I’m a Rangers Fan but the very first game I saw was at East End Park, Dunfermline, (my Uncle played in Goals for them several years before), playing Dundee. One stand out memory was Gillie scoring a header. Both sides were playing great football at the time. The 1960’s were a Golden Age for Scottish Football. Great Times. If you weren’t around then you really missed something very special.

Gee the standard was dreadful back then compared to today. So many missed chances. Our memory tells us how good that Rangers team was but it wasn’t, just poorer opposition.

Looks so slow compared to modern football. But then surfaces weren't as good in those days. The balls were heavy leather and boots probably weighted four times as much. Makes you appreciate the pace of those Lyon forwards on Thursday night.
