I built one style of spool holder that my wire loop sits about 3” above my spool on a separate stand. It’s a large spool about 3” in diameter. But what I’m finding is that it really come off the spool too quickly and also twists the thread, thus creating loops. I noticed that yours is quite tall. Would that help eliminate or lessen the twisting?

My machine is sewing, but the stitches are very lose. How do you tighten the stitch?

You can adjust the tension with the two tension disks or the holes in your bobbin shuttle. For starters try matching the upper and lower tension before you start sewing.

Hi, my name is Martin, I asked this question ones before, but I can't remember on Wich Video I posted it, now I can't find it. My question is, can I use this kind of Shoe repair Sewing machine to do the sewing when I'm making a 3,000 lbs cargo load strap?

What size thread are you using?

@@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks I don't have the Sewing machine yet, I want to use it for fixing and making load straps and towing straps. I just need to know if I can use strong enough string to do that kind of job, before I buy it.

I am sorry, I thought you were currently sewing the straps and was wondering if this machine could handle it. The largest thread recommend on these machines is 207 which is pretty thick and strong but I am not sure if that will be strong enough. Another important question is how thick of material are you sewing through? If it's over 3/4 of an inch it will not work.

@@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks Thank you for the reply. It will be 1/4" to 3/8" of an inch at the most as far as I know now. I'm fermiliar with the thickness and strength of threads, I think one of the Utube Videos I watched were using # 207 thread, than I think I can order me that kind of sewing machine. I'll keep watching your videos, and I'm impressed how well you explain it all. Thank you.

I am not sure, I will check my tool box to see if I still have the die I used to thread the rod.
