I was taking Amtrak to VA December 14, but because of the cold, we were 7 hours late and missed our connecting train in Chicago(Amtrak's fault). Amtrak put us up in a hotel downtown near Sears Tower in Chicago, paid our food voucher and taxi voucher, so on Dec 16, the next day, I got to hang out in Chicago for hours the next day and check out the city. I didn't realize it was so nice, but too big for me. I was born in NYC, lived in Hollywood, L.A., Miami, etc. now I'm in a town of oly 2500. Happy to see your beautiful baby.
I'm playing catch up from over the holidays. The hometown trips made my week! It made me feel like I was apart of the family! Bonus, I got to see a Hatchimal in action. Thank God my 5 year old lil man didn't want one!!!

Your mom's family lives down in my family's neck of the woods. I'm from a small town called Carterville. I am also friends with, I believe, your cousin Cindy Vaughn. Love seeing your travels and your time with family. You are right....there is not much to do in Shawneetown or in any of the small towns unless it's summer and you can hike.
I feel so bad for you guys that you had all the problems you did at the airport with United! I don't blame either one of you for being mad including baby Lawson. Who could blame that adorable little munchkin for being so irritable? I would be!! Honestly, from all appearances, Lawson seem to do really well on the flight to Charlotte, the flight to Chicago, (once you finally got on one), and in the car to Shawneetown! You two should consider yourselves very lucky!! Lawson has such a sweet, calm disposition and seems to go along with the flow! I admire how you both manage to find the levity in every situation, even the tough ones like at the airport! Don't ever lose that quality, and Jeff, I have to say I'm very proud of you for being so patient during the airport craziness. I expected you to be all fired up!! I'm glad everything worked out in the end with your flight. Every time my husband or my mother in law fly with United they lose their luggage. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It's crazy! We now stick with Delta. Happy New Year, and I hope you all are doing well!

Hey Jeff, Jordan and Lawson! Loved the Christmas update, Baby Laws did so good! I am sorry to hear about United, I would have been upset as well. I really hope they compensate y'all well for their crappy service! Shoot, you came right past or through where we live on your way to Shawneetown, we live in Mattoon, IL. Your mom's family lives down in my family's neck of the woods. I'm from a small town called Carterville. I am also friends with, I believe, your cousin Cindy Vaughn. Love seeing your travels and your time with family. You are right....there is not much to do in Shawneetown or in any of the small towns unless it's summer and you can hike.
I feel so bad for you guys that you had all the problems you did at the airport with United! I don't blame either one of you for being mad including baby Lawson. Who could blame that adorable little munchkin for being so irritable? I would be!! Honestly, from all appearances, Lawson seem to do really well on the flight to Charlotte, the flight to Chicago, (once you finally got on one), and in the car to Shawneetown! You two should consider yourselves very lucky!! Lawson has such a sweet, calm disposition and seems to go along with the flow! I admire how you both manage to find the levity in every situation, even the tough ones like at the airport! Don't ever lose that quality, and Jeff, I have to say I'm very proud of you for being so patient during the airport craziness. I expected you to be all fired up!! LOL Maybe you just didn't put that part on film! LOL I guess that comes along with becoming a husband, father and head of the family? Anyway, good for you!
