Thing is they can synth a voice for CT..... no need to have an big name actor voice him. Just get someone with the right tone and cadence to their reading the lines that closely emulates the speech mannerisms and synth of the rest
yea he was asking for a pay increase my guess since both Borderlands 1 and 2 did so successfully but the company refuse and Randy attack him and if I remember correct he end up sue the company and Randy and won and what I heard that it wasn't even alot money he was ask for to and when he won it they had to pay him alot money, they should just pay the guy and everyone hate Borderlands 3 to
Whoever wrote this movie, casted this movie, and approved this dumpster fire needs to be fired ASAP and never hired into anything that requires braincell usage.
"I feel weird... right now... I feel weird" is how I felt about watching this trailer. I'm glad they are wheeling out some of these veteran actors, but maybe they could have looked at some new blood for some of these roles?
Moxxi is already 50 in the games, she's just a really, really hot, young looking granny. The actress doesn't look like that AT ALL, she's 61 and looks like an old warhorse, because that's what she is, an old warhorse...
the thing is she look young but kinda old..... you are like; how does she have 5 kids? you gonna leave out scooter.................. 'Catch A Ride'!!!!!! idk her other kids names
As you get older you realize more and more that time is precious. You also realize that you vote with your money. Which is why I will be wasting neither on this.
An old lady playing as Lilith, the tiny loudmouth Kevin Hart playing the beefy and brooding Roland and a girl with very little energy playing as the energetic firecracker: Tiny Tina. Is this a joke??
Let's go to the checklist for this movie. 1. Major first sonic trailer vibe. ✓ 2. 80's action movie star. ✓ 3. Jack Black shiting on screen in the trailer. ✓ 4. Actress from Thor Ragnarok. ✓ 5. The best character is probably going to be the one who'll have the least written line, krieg. ✓ 6. Probably has Maya played by Betty White's ashes. (Unknown) 7. Effort put into the trailer so people will want to watch it. - 8. Waiting to see if this was a fake out to hide the other actors who are actually playing in the actual movie.
She's also wearing long sleeves and a lot of leather gear so they would be for the most part covered up. I'm guessing that they are hiding that fact until later in the movie.
10:31 Just so everyone knows, that isn't Handsome Jack, it's the CEO of the Atlas Corporation which was confirmed by Randy Pitchford in his interview with IGN. We have never actually seen the CEO of Atlas in any Borderlands Game before Rhys took it over so Randy said this was a good time to introduce him into the Borderlands universe (take that as you will). Whether he will be an interesting character I guess we will have to see, but I'm not getting my hopes up considering all the terrible actor choices for this movie.

They're trying to make Guardians of the Galaxy: Borderlands edition. Also, that's not Tiny Tina. I will fight people that say otherwise. Also ClapTrap is a voice over...why not just get the original voice actor.... I don't like it. That said the costumes/vehicles/etc...look -okay-.
I won't be seeing the movie. The trailer just proved that this another case of Hollywood taking something that's already perfect as is & giving it the 'hollywood' treatment & ruining it entirely. Cate is too old for the part, Kevin Hart is just ENTIRELY wrong for the part, they toned down & changed all the personalities of characters. Supposedly this movie is based on the second game but has Lilith & Roland as main characters? And Tina as a main character even though you hardly see her in the second game. I just hate everything about this :(
Guys, you wouldn’t believe it, but I actually came up with a MUCH superior list of actors for most of the cast. I’ve already posted it in the comments below the trailer itself on the official Borderlands YT channel, and now I’m just gonna post it under as many videos about it as I can. I know spamming is usually frowned upon, but I still think other fans of the games would wanna see this. If enough people agree with it, then maybe Hollywood will start listening and give us a remake with a cast that actually makes sense. So without further ado, here’s my list for a #betterBorderlandsmoviecast: Milla Jovovich as Lilith John Leguizamo as Mordecai Dave Bautista as Brick Keanu Reeves as Zero Anya Taylor-Joy as Maya Bradley Cooper as Axton Nathan Jones as Krieg (dude who played Rictus Erectus in Mad Max: Fury Road for those who don’t know) Hugh Laurie as Sir Hammerlock Ben Schwartz as Claptrap Anne Hathaway as Dr. Tannis Aubrey Plaza as Nisha, the Sheriff of Lynchwood Matthew McConaughey as Handsome Jack
Yea. What are they doing to our video games. That's a 50 year old and a 70 year old cast; with a 5'2 Commando. Seriously? This feels like a B flick; even Tiny Tina. She's suppose to be insane and crazy. This movie makes me sad. lol
the problem with Hollywood is that they don't take the seriously the story for video games. They think is just another funny movie with bad jokes and is not really that.
It’s not just the casting, though. The big thing about Borderlands is that the textures are all hand-drawn. The entire art aesthetic is off by miles. (The music is also not Borderlands.)
Kevin Hart is the Salvador version of Roland The scene driving through pisswash gully with a window open sums up how bad this trailer is, juvenile humour that makes BL3 seem like a story writing masterpiece
I think a Borderlands movie adaptation is something very difficult to do. And they decided to add another level of difficulty by making it live action...
How difficult is it to find an actor or actress close to the correct age, I mean come on. Clap trap already has a voice actor from the game itself sooo..

ahh yes its like they wanted to be a family in the car, Roland who was always a role model for Tiny Tina and Lilith whos always dripping around Roland.
Yeah I hate to judge a movie by just the casting but dang they got it wrong… costumes and visuals look honestly better than expected but who looked at Lilith and thought “yeah she’s it”… I cringe so much watching it.
heres a good rule for aspiring costume designers. if the character is not in modern society, and does not specifically have a scene buying or washing clothes, make the outfit dirty. go roll it around in the dirt and dust a bit. i know you worked hard and you really want people to see how nice you made the costume look, but this adds much needed realism and avoids a lot of the cosplay feeling.
They're making fun of us. Watch as Fake Claptrap takes a dump all over us at the end of the trailer, telling us to watch them take a dump on what we love. FKEM!
not even a Borderlands fan, but any movie adaptations of a highly beloved franchise that shoves in piss and shitting jokes in the trailer is about as red a flag as it can get for me.
It feels weird because there is an agenda behind it. They choose NOT to do it correctly on purpose. Stop dancing around the fact and just understand it and say it. It's not hard to cast a Borderlands movie. Its CHEAPER to cast the original Claptrap voice actor. There is a reason they used Jack Black.
They missed marketing of ENTIRE Borderlands where in each game there is introduction of one of playable characters as "Himself/Herself" so by making Claptrap being voiced by Himself and using video game actor would at least gain one point from me. Also making from game that is 18+/M rated, movie that is PG-13 is like shooting in foot and rumors that ATLAS is mercenary group working for Hyperion and guy named Atlas will be disfigured by Lilith by the end taking up mantle of Handsome Jack is not very good choice for story direction at all.
ummmmmm no to gilf. I don't care how spectacular Jamie's jigglies are. they knew this movie could be a flop, so they got actors that they thought could put butts in seats, instead of casting actors who were right for the role.
I wanted Samuel L. Jackson as Roland, Dave Bautista as Brick, Sophie Turner as Lilith, keep Claptrap's og voice actor, Tiny Tina is fine, and this might be controversial but I think Oscar Isaac or Pedro Pascal as Handsome Jack. Wildly different appearances, I know, but I think both could nail his quirky, sociopathic, and undeniably evil yet overly charming and charasmatic vibe.
from what i remember, the og claptrap voice actor is no longer with the company and hasnt been for a while. his voice actor has already changed once or twice now
Borderlands Randy Pitchford (literally) ripped off the guy who made 2006 *"Codehunters"* a cg anime short (there's a story behind what Randy did to that creator). An anime movie (in that style) would've worked as someone tweeted at Randy, and Randy give a dismissive scoff.
I always watched stuck in the middle and said she is perfect tiny Tina I absolutely love her as Tina I’ve always seen her as Tina I like that she didn’t go completely bonkers with it she is hysterical
5:54 / 6:25 Clappy's wearing an Absorb shield. Change my mind. (And they took the whole "absorb" concept literally just like "Piss Wash"). 6:12 Moxxi's canonically in her 40s or 50s. 7:24 Ah, but have you seen 'The Ice Pirates'? It's the sort of '80s movie that could have ever come out in the '80s. 10:11 Deukalian Atlas. His name is a reference to Deucalion, son of Prometheus. 10:40 Can't start off with Handsome Jack as the villain. Anyway, they're cherry-picked characters and details from all over the saga. Dandy Bitchford has even said that the movie basically has nothing to do with the actual saga. That's why not-dead Roland is coexisting in the same timeline as teenage Tina.
The movie is not made for gamers or fans of the series, according to the producers. The question is, WHO is it made for? The mythical ''modern audiences''? Not inclusive enough. For children? Too violent. For women? Too action-ny. To flop? Ding ding ding, we have a winner! Then comes the mandatory ''toxic fanbase'' shit. STICK TO THE SOURCE MATERIAL. How many fans of Borderlands they think are out there, the fanbase alone would make it a hit! The money allergy in Hollywood is getting more severe by the minute.
What really annoys me is, I was excited about this movie being made.... because they were finally starting to do some great video game adaptations that worked. Like Sonic the Hedgehog, The Last of Us, Arcane (League of Legends) Fall Out and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Now they are trying to ride off the coat tails of Guardian's of The Galaxy and the other video game adaptions that worked..... AND this TRASH is what they came up with. It's like they have the blue prints of how to do it, but have no idea how to use them. They were like "Okay....so Cool Music, popular actors, relatable characters and a family dynamic." With having no fucking idea how to make it work by putting it all together, they just take the core concept and toss it together into a blender.
I happy that they managed to catch the world design at least. But why are all the chars so old? I remember BL series as being very "young" in general in everything all the way down to the speech that at times was nearly too cringe from trying to be "hip with the young". Lillith: old & not a siren? no tatoo or magic? One of the few things i can remember from BL2 was when she jumpin in from the sky and said "Sup". Tiny Tiny: Acts like BL2 Tiny but looks like the older BL3? surely im not the only one who have a bleeding heart for then teen version & her sad backstory as she has quite a few spinoff games. The current actor looks outright clumsy trying to jump around like a teen. Roland, Krieg & Clap Trap: looks alright. Krieg they can probably get away with just looking. But Roland was like the serious leader & im not getting that vibe. Jack Black with a robot voice? Perhaps. The insane(ly smart) doctor. Tannis i think. I mean i love Curtis & i guess its way to squeeze her in? I do understand boiling down 100s hours of Borderlands into like 90 mins you have to cut something or change something to fit. Perhaps im just nitpicking, but it all cames down to the writing/directing i guess. I really hope im wrong & they pull it off.
It's gotten to the point now, where it really seems like they're just doing this on purpose, in order to create drama. I've been saying this for a very long time now, but I feel we're at the point where everyone must be able to see this? We live in a post Mass Effect 3 world, where the drama surrounding a product, is more valuable than the product doing well, in a traditional sense. What is bread and circus has shifted a lot over the past 10 to 20 years. It's all about online retention now, and feeding into the divide and conquer paradigm.
Aside from the casting, the way the characters are just doesn't seem to fit. I don't think Roland would kick Claptrap down into a well. I don't think Lilith would say she hates Pandora, even though she probably does. Tina feels too much like a bratty kid than a crazy wizard demolitionist. I just have no faith in this at all right now. Too many creative liberties taken to try to sell a niche product to the masses.
@@Cahlaflour yeah i was check it again and i forgot it already because borderlands is so much in the past already for me but yeah she is the mother of Ellie and Scooter ....and got 2 more kids.... lol and she is 50 years old :D but yeah for the 50s she is hot :D atleast in the game hahaha
I think this movie would be a pretty good movie as long as you haven't played the video games. Since I've played borderlands, I'm going to have trouble watching this movie, but people who have not played the games probably will enjoy this movie.
Show this movie to someone who has played Borderlands but remove anything that references Borderlands. They will not know it’s supposed to be borderlands
Besides the obvious physical flaws of the casting, they also casted actors/actresses that just can't/won't act. Kevin Hart is Kevin Hart in anything he's in, Jamie Lee Curtis is the same, and Jack Black is THE SAME. It's like their egos won't allow them to act. We know what we're getting with this garbage.
It gets worse the more you watch it. But what can we expect from Hollyweird? Look what they did to Transformers, Uncharted, GI Joe & Masters Of The Universe. They have to drastically change everything. They just cannot stick to the source material. Only God knows WHY???

It doesnt look like Lilith is a siren either, her tattoos go all the way up her neck so it doesn’t look like shes a siren
It would have failed if it was full of cheesy one liners like the game.
Tiny Tina is not crazy enough. Like she needed to have been given like 4 energy drinks and a large cup of coffee to have the energy levels Tina does
id say give an ADHD girl a 24h energy drink every hour and an RPG, and you're halfway there.
Plus a little cocaine
Agree ! Where is Margot Robbie???

Why is tennis so old? She’s like around her 20 in the third game
Anyone else notice that Lilith does'nt have her siren tattoos or is it just me.
@doigy_rxc1127
They probably changed how sirens get their powers.

Not enough people mention that tannis isn't supposed to look like she is 80.
not even a Borderlands fan, but any movie adaptations of a highly beloved franchise that shoves in piss and shitting jokes in the trailer is about as red a flag as it can get for me.
I just texted that number at the end of the trailer. So far they texted back saying they said not to text that number.
Here's the thing: I haven't even played the Borderlands games, and I 100% agree with you!
At least Tiny Tina is cute. I mean She is nothing like the character from the games, but at least she isn't collecting a pension.
Dunno if anyone noticed, but they named all the actors in the trailer EXCEPT for the dude playing Krieg..
The costumes, CGI and effects, storyline look decent enough. If only they'd actually had good casting this might have been great.
Tannis is the biggest crime here imo
Wildly different appearances, I know, but I think both could nail his quirky, sociopathic, and undeniably evil yet overly charming and charasmatic vibe.
from what i remember, the og claptrap voice actor is no longer with the company and hasnt been for a while. his voice actor has already changed once or twice now
Mox is in her 50s so it makes sense, she had two grown kids.
Too many creative liberties taken to try to sell a niche product to the masses.
btw moxxy is old in the game... ^^ she got a old son already :D
I guess she just never looked that way to me? lmao oops
Borderlands feels like we are going on an adventure to the old folks home, with a rag tag crew of mismatch’s.
No expectations for this one.
So for me almost all the characters fit, the only thing that bothers me is tiny Tina, for me she was and still is the most disturbed teenager
This looks baaad. Enid from Wednesday should have been Tina. 😅
