"The First Sliver/Sliver Overlord is a 5 color commander but also a Sliver commander, the kind of thing only annoying people play with..." *Me, being a Sliver player myself * I'm not even mad, he's 100% correct.
My favorite thing about my Riku deck is that when I was accused of having infinite combos hiding in the deck and my play group not believing it had none, I let the competitive player of the group look through the deck. He looked. and looked. As he went, he looked more and more confused and quiet. By the end, he just looked at me, pinched the bridge of his nose, and said it was stupid I had Clone tribal LMAO
Oh my god I letterally have the same deck it's so fun to play though isn't it but I find that new groups hate on riku at sight despite me promising that I can not go infinite
Zurs nice because you have a lot of flexibility in game to react to how powerful your opp decks are. High optimization pod? Stacks it is. A couple precons and a mediocre tribal deck? Get the fun stuff
Sidisi is really fun. Her colors let her be a fun dredge commander while being not overly oppressive and obnoxious. I she is less powerful than muldrotha or Gitrog monster but she has fills a space of a bit lower power while still doing fun things in sultai. Just typing this makes me want to put her deck back together.
Since you asked, I use Sidisi as my self mill commander almost entirely for the colors. She was literally the last card I added to the deck and figured "eh, she'll do." My secret is that it's actually a Haakon & Syr Konrad knight tribal deck. Nobody ever sees it coming.
sidisi was my first go to commander, mill enabler and payoff on the same card. freedom to go zombi tribal or anythign graveyard related (except spellslinger). and she looks ffing awesome
I built sidisi when she came out but during the first game someone pointed out she only makes at most one zombie per group of milled cards and then I never played her again.
I'm a bit of an Omnath purist, I think they should have stayed monogreen. The original art is cool and wispy, every card after they just turned him into a big muscular radioactive jello monster.
"Nethroi's the kind of commander somebody plays because they want to prove they understand mutate better than you." No, I play Nethroi because he's hilarious with Scourge of the Skyclaves :P. Also dat alt art. I'd like to see one of these with comment submissions, I nominate Atogatog personally.
I know this is a week old vid but I want to come to the defense of Sidisi a little. She was my first legit powerful commander deck so I have fond memories of her, but she is also powerful with Altar of Dementia. I use her with dredge cards and try to make the most bonkers Living Death turns ever, followed by either; a round or two of combats to death, milling the table, or sacrificing the team to Jarad and draining the table. PS. I did the last one on my upkeep after being milled by a player who used millstone/painter's servant and felt like major baddie. Haha much love mate, thanks for making cool vids and being a cool dude
Fun fact, Vince! Admiral Beckett brass' artist did that art of his mother! She passed away, unfortunately, but I saw him talking about it on twitter. I think it's really sweet. (Also as a nethroi player I do love to remind ppl it's only on non-human creatures lmao)
Sidisi, Brood Tyrant was my first EDH deck. I already had a graveyard deck that was growing beyond 60 cards, and at the time there weren't many other Sultai commanders to even pick from. So I filled up my deck, added some blue, and just haven't bothered switching commanders. I ended up building those other Sultai ones as separate decks instead.
I love Sidisi because she lets me play my Sultai reanimator filth without getting hated out for playing Muldrotha or Mimeoplasm. She was also the first Sultai commander that I found that did both things I like (self mill and tokens), she gives you stuff to sacrifice to Victimize and Cavalier of Night. I dunno she's fucking cool, come at me.
It's ok your not alone I love sidisi, dread return, victimize, wonder it's a really fun deck to play and lets you play the best colours without playing muldrotha who I find boring if I'm honest
How to build Sidisi: Path of Discovery, Underrealm Lich and something that draws you cards whenever a creature enters the battlefield, or leaves it (or even a cheeky Gitrog Monster) plus a few graveyard resets means you can mill through your deck over and over, while making ridiculous amounts of Zombie tokens. Throw in a few good zombie lords for good measure, and then swing for the fences, or sacrifice the bastarding lot to Jarad to make your opponents crumble like last year's pita bread that you forgot on the radiator in your kitchen.
I typically play Orzhov or Boros and Omnath Locus of Rage was my first green commander that wasn't Golgari. I built it on a budget by cannibalizing the naya precon from zendikar and I'm so annoyed by how powerful it is compared to my other decks.
sidisi brood tyrant was my first cedh commander. a food chain flash hulk hermit druid combo deck since it was interesting in its ability to layer all 3 of those win cons and there was doomsday lines as well since she could crack the doomsday pile. granted shes been long since power crept and pushed aside with even stronger sultai commanders coming out after and the move away from green as the most busted color.
I play a Xyris with wheels' phyrexian alter impact tremors and other stuff like it. Anger and that one enchantment that allows your snakes to tap for a mana is also fun. Sometimes Earth craft. It feels like a storm deck without a storm card in it
Everything I understood...I felt. Just one thing not yet...xyris. xyris can wheel into extra turn and parallel mass tokens which he can sac on an altar for almost infinite mana to play on and on and on...by himself. Soltair state of the game. Horror design. Liked the vid as all of these. Love the content alot. Loove.
I run a narset storm list and its super cool 😁 not a single extra turn card, but is totally cedh, and usually wins 2-3. It's fun going to events and seeing folks get bamboozled at cedh tables with such an off the path approach for narset
Every time I sit down with my Narset deck, people automatically fear me for the reason you've mentioned Narset players do lmao. I always have to start with the disclaimer that a) my deck's not loaded with extra turns and b) I hardly ever cast her, oftentimes because it's not necessary. Also, the shade on Trostani isn't untrue, but... sad face. I love my Mommy Trostani. Also Gruul-aid Man is my primary wincon in my 4c Omnath deck because I use Brudiclad to make all my tokens into Elementals and then Blas Acting the board, much akin to the Mono-Red Tron win
I quite enjoy Sidisi. My deck is cEDH tbh but she functions as a fun zombie tribal commander as well, with mill themes too. And yeah, she makes 1 zombie, but you want cards like mesmeric orb for that. You can easily blow up with her.
I love Ghave, when I first started EDH my buddy would clobber me with his Ghave deck and teach me the ways of this mysterious fungal shaman. I'd tick them up to Bastard since the deck can be quite flexible at smacking with a huge commander, smacking with an army of saporlings, sitting back and being an aristocrat or have the shear resilience of taking a boardwipe and leaving behind some stinky saporlings much to the chagrin of your opponents :P
Coming from a Sidisi Commander player since Khans: Sidisi is the ultimate tool box commander in my opinion. Fills the graveyard? Check. Gets sacrifice fodder? Check. Is the best three commander colors? Check. My Sidisi deck is a passion project filled with Zombies, Garruk Planeswalkers for no reason, Jarad combos, and of course Lab Maniac. It’s just a fun Sultai commander without attracting too much hate. speaking as a player who has had a sidisi deck since she was released, she gives you a goofy way to make tokens and keeps you alive with chump blocking or sometimes just win with hella zombies in the lategame. She allows me combo with dread return and thassas oriacle if i get zombies in play with my mills. Honestly she is probable the most fair graveyard commander IMO and thats why i love her
My first commander deck I ever made was zedruu and my second was sliver legion, cool to see my pet decks get both first and last I swear I only built slivers as catharsis for all the times I lost to them in casual as a kid
Sidisi is one of my top 3 commanders because she is the best zombie commander in my opinion and I've won games making a ton of zombies and swinging in after reanimating End Raze Forerunners or Decimator of Provinces. She enables reanimation so well and there are so many cool zombies in BUG colors. Scarab God, Underrealm Lich and so many others you can throw in there. Love playing this deck.
Oh god, it's minute 1 of the video. Sidisi, the onlyl true queen appears on the screen and hell am I excited! ... I guess you're right. But Sidisi, she can do many things! Reanimate big shit, flood board with the zombie army and smash big or with infect, mill yourself and Thassa out, and or my most favourite - play all clones and Sakashimas of the world and have 5 Sidisi attack triggers, each making potential of 5 zombies. That's a zombie apocalypse I love.
Sidisi is great because you can make an army of zombies and either use them for a combo or slap people with a Beastmaster Ascension. You can do so many things with her its nuts.
