I’d never seen that kind of blue and yellow lidded bin before so I decided to try and find them online. Apparently they are Nylex Split Recycling Bins and were in use in some parts of NSW until 2006, when a government contract with Collex Waste Management expired.
Nylex rings a bell, yep. This was done in Ryde City Council circa 1999. Paper/cardboard on one side, bottles and cans on the other. The white tires were a CGI glitch that was never corrected, they were black in reality... less stylish.
I've periodically seen this as a gif and have never found the source until today, I legitimately thought it was a more recent origin. That's very impressive, it looks like you were having quite a bit of fun with it!
