    impeccable - even preternaturally realistic - scenery and detailing.
    real artistry on display here.
    looks like photographs of an "idealized" real world - where everything was kept immaculately clean.
    damn. this beats even the world-famous Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg Germany.
    as awesomely detailed as that showcase is - its scenes would never be mistaken for photos of reality.

    Your layout is just so darn awesome. I used to be in N-scale back in the 80's when I had cash for model stuff. I, too, modeled Texas with the short trees and flat terrain. Mine was totally free-lanced. It was The Texas Central and Pacific Railroad. Had my own corporate logo and sky blue, black and sunset yellow locomotive paint scheme. Man, I had an empire. Most of my trains were of average length -about 18 cars. we didn't have the modern structures and cars you have today. I had to scratch build my skyscrapers and chemical plants and such, and I became very good at it. My main locomotives were SD40-2's. I had 150 freight cars and 17 locos. Your layout is the finest N-scale one I have seen and of particular interest to me because it is Texas. I love those palm trees and the cool Taco Bell restaurant and you ballast your track very nicely.

    That is a fantastic looking layout. The scale of realism is absolutely amazing. It reminds me of the work of Pelle Soeborg's UP Danville Sub, which is commonly seen on Model Railroader Magazine. The BNSF oil train at 1:40 exactly reminds me of the oil trains that runs through my hometown of McGehee, AR, on the Union Pacific's McGehee Subdivision. They run from Tioga, ND to Lake Charles, LA.

      Thanks for your kind comments. Pelle is an old friend since 1992 and I built the layout from his priciples of realism. He is always great inspiration.

    I am in the process of building my largest HO layout. No where as large as yours, but 23' X 15' a U with the parallel track to the 23' only 15' all with a 4' wide surface. So I watch every how too and layout I can and I must say, yours is the finest and most realistic of all I have watched. Great job. Thanks for sharing..

    The detail, the scenery, the variety of trains. Everything looks great. Just one thing the Texas Eagle needs 1 or two more coaches. The UP steam train will sure be the star attraction. Love to see more.

    Just stumbled across this video and got blown away at how well detailed everything looks, scenery, track and the speed of the trains is awesome!!! Just had to subscribe to your channel and can't wait to see more videos that you have posted and will be in the future! Paul and William have hit the nail on the head, "one of the finest layouts" and Absolutely Outstanding". Again thank you!! D. Muse (WTCMRR)

    You do great work. I have watched some of your other videos, but to get to see all the trains in one video was really a treat. I liked your scenery and you well detailed structures and scenes. I model Nebraska and the train traffic and some of the scenery are very similar. You have inspired me to go back and improve some of my previous scenery. Thanks for sharing with us.

    Amazing layout! I have a small 4x6, and although I'm modeling CSX/NS, your layout is an inspiration! Ever think about having a full run through power train, like a lashup that has UP, BNSF, CP, NS, CSX, and CN? I'd love to see that.

      If he's modelling Texas I don't think CN would be running coal on his layout. CN run through power on a train would be cool and possibly prototypical.

      RMD 2023 well I recently just moved I'm from Corpus Christi Tx but now I'm staying in a small town Abilene Tx but so far I haven't found a good store to get model at I found a hobby lobby but when I went to see what they had it was like kid trains no details at all on them and they have very few accessories for railroad modeling but I'm still looking though

      RMD 2023 I got really bored one day I scratch builted power poles modern style I think I did pretty good on them I use thin aluminum wires and for the incolators I used soldering wire I carved them real small to shape them like like the one they use for modern day power lines I'm planing to do some more and post them on you tube to show maybe others could get ideas from it or something

    What a great layout. I've never seen the boring strip malls of America done better. You should have a little down time. I mean focus in on structure detail while waiting for a train, then pull back when a train comes. All the trains seem to be racing through at 80 mph. Maybe in Texas, most trains are a little slower.

    • @perlaursen478
      @perlaursen478 4 роки тому

      Thanks for your kind comments. This video is just to present the trains running on the layout, there are other videos on my channel that focuses more on the details. I am working on an updated "Trains on the layout" where all trains are running slower to better catch the details and weathering.

    How did you make the roads?

    • @summitmodeltrainvideos4440
      @summitmodeltrainvideos4440  7 років тому +1

      The roads are made with Woodland Scenics' road system, Smooth-It. In the cities I use Evergreen styrene (2x4mm) strips in place of the paving tape. This way I have a solid plastic base to glue the curbs onto. Curbs are Evergreen 2x1.5mm.
