    My boy made 17 months today and loves doing what we call tata his toys. He hugs them and is sweet to them. He also just started wiping his own nose and face as well as picking up trash, saying "TASH!" and putting it in the trash can.

    I agree that these are a bit unrealistic at under 2 years old. It’s probably not good developmentally to push this behavior of cleaning spills up and taking laundry out. Let your kids be kids and grow at their own pace. There should be little no expectations, just read to them, listen, and be repetitive with words but no kids are cleaning up their toys and doing household chores at 17 months. They aren’t even by 2 usually.

      Well I'm sure glad to hear this because my daughter will help clean but alot of whats in this video she's not necessarily doing yet. She's happy but haven't reached some of these milestones

      To each his own. Either way her child seemed to be enjoying it. What’s wrong with that? Didn’t seem like expectations but more like fun ways to involve them in daily activities that you can’t avoid as a parent. Seems much more beneficial to involve them rather than possibly reprimand them, ignore them or put them in front of a screen, for example.

      Trying new things isn’t unrealistic and there are some expectations. Your child’s doctor will tell if they are behind on certain skills.

    The way she just sits and focuses on one toy at a time- is there a trick to that? Do I have too many toys in reach? He seems bored and uninterested in his toys and gets into anything else instead 😩

      It may be. Also, it can be possible that he wants to play accompanied. You don't need to play WITH him but you can play BESIDE or near him. He may want both of you to engage in the same activity together. That may work.

    My baby is ahead with all these except speech, as he's growing up bilingual so he'll naturally start speaking a later than his peers who are monolingual.

    I'm super worried about my 17 month old boy! He's not talking, he's doesn't feed himself, he doesn't drink on his own accord, he doesn't listen if I try to model anything, he doesn't try to help me with my cleaning or anything.. i don't know what I'm doing wrong

      Don’t feel bad mine doesn’t either, almost 17 months. I have to stop watching these kind of videos because every baby is different with their development. :)

      I think its more important that you recognize where they're at and teach to that level. Age is just a number. My first and second kid were day and night in what they were able to do. Eventually they all get there (and watch out for delays, as some kids need added support, but the bar for that is not this child 😆 😉).

    What you recommend for bilingual families? I want her to learn English and English is more natural for me now that I’m a adult but Spanish is my first language.

    • @CarnahanFam
      @CarnahanFam  3 роки тому +2

      The milestones are the same regardless of what language you speak so you can definitely still work with your little one on these! As far as bilingual families are concerned, if you have the ability to integrate both languages into your child’s life it will definitely give them an advantage and I would recommend doing so!

    these kind videos just stress parents. no reason to exist.

    • @dhagos
      @dhagos Рік тому +4

      Lol, I can see that. Meeting kids that are advance does as well. But its good to see how to teach a kid, then adjust for your kids stage.
      That being said, my kids doing all this and can draw just moving her hand so maybe I lack empathy 😑. Either way it's good for parents to see different kids learning at different levels so they know what to expect when their kid goes to school with me kid 🙂.
      Don't get stressed, every kid eventually learns all of this and more. Just apply the tips where u can and enjoy the journey. I'm sure your kid is as awesome in their own way 😁

      Could not agree more! Totally bullshit!

    • @Aiesha342
      @Aiesha342 3 місяці тому

      There are parents who are genuinely interested on things they can do to help their toddlers meet certain milestones. Not to say the child that isn't, that something is wrong. I don't compare my baby, if I try and he's not interested I know he'll get it eventually
