I feel like maybe it’s a little boy thing - I have an 18 month old boy too and no way he’d sit still for any of these things! If he can’t smash it, eat it or run around doing it he’s not interested 😂
Keep in mind that Ashley is only going to film the best example of her kids participating in the activity to share, because this is meant to be showing others how it can be used. I'm sure that there are times when the kids don't play properly, bit that isn't going to make it into a video!
List of the activities for easy future reference: - Block Towers - Box with a sliding lid - Locks and latches - Multi-shape peg puzzle - Matryoshka dolls - Nuts and bolts - Open and close the basket - Threading - Shape sorter - Pegboard - Kinetic sand - Playdough - Walk outdoors - Object to picture matching - Dry transfer with a spoon - Dry pouring - Sponging - Set pouring pitcher to pitcher - Set pouring pitcher to glass - Wiping a table - Dusting - Mopping - Watering a plant - Hanging a coat - Choosing a pair of shoes - Taking off shoes - Putting away shoes I hope this helps you quickly refer to these activities after seeing the video.
So glad you label these so clearly in event we want to refer back to one or refer one to someone else for viewing. It is so refreshing to see a parent allowing a child to do their own problem-solving without letting them get completely frustrated. I think Mia is better at the towers than I would be. Has she discovered her shadow yet and reacted to it at all? Loved it when she was running after Kylie. Don't let your older sibling out of your sight, if you can help it. Loved how she checked in the watering can at the end to be sure it was empty. Hanging up her jacket and getting her shoes off and put away were really impressive. She did very well.
Thank you so much. I have three kiddies, 5.5, 3.5 and 1.5 and in the business of life I sometimes forget my littlest one. This is a wonderful reminder of what I can do with her. All the best to you and your beautiful family.
Sweeping using a mini broom, helping vacuum or mop, helping hang the laundry or take it back in when it’s dry, helping making breakfast (easy tasks like peel a banana, pour oats in a bowl, carry his breakfast to the dining table), helping fix things (for example holding something and observing while we fix), pouring out the kibbles for our cat and dog morning and evening (we told him he’s in charge of feeding his 2 siblings), playing with the cat using a fishing rod style cat toy, packing or unpacking a bag or suitcase, asking him to bring something to someone (look bring this thing to Mummy in the office)…
THANK YOU for sharing this type of content on your channel. As a professional mom with a lot of mom guilt, the content you share is digestible and impactful. I feel more purposeful and confident in my parenting as a result of heeding your words! Recently got my spouse to start watching your videos as well. A normal, relatable, concise mom vlogger - thank you for being!
Been watching your videos since I was pregnant a little over a year ago. I studied child development in college got my BA and you really just helped by demonstrating and giving ideas on what I do could to teach my child. Thank you so much!!
How do you keep her from putting everything in her mouth? I try and do play dough, crayons and water painting with my fourteen almost fifteen month old and it’s more an exercise where I’m constantly trying to redirect the stuff away from his mouth before giving up and lacking the activity up!
I’m so glad I found your channel when you where pregnant with Mia . It’s been such a blessing finding your channel and taking on your advise . Lol you should see my family’s eyes when my son does something they couldn’t believe he could do on his own . You’ve game me so much confidence! Thank you
For presentations especially language ones, i strongly suggest leading with real objects first and omitting the matching cards as that can be really abstract for the child. I can see that your toddler can follow the rhythm of a work cycle but it is important to start with real objects followed by replicas (omitting matching cards) at first to analyse language level and skills and while doing that, it is important to sit with the child, to present how this is done and then walk away. Great Job implementing so many psycho sensory motor activities!!
Same here with my daughter. She will refuse food and then hunt on the floor for anything that fell off the plate 😆 I am hoping it’s a development stage that she will outgrow
I am 26 and vividly remember my later 2s and all of my 3s. Montessori was a highlight for me. I especially needed a space that was calming, because my home wasn’t always child friendly. I appreciate all the memories I made there, and especially remember feelings of understanding and patience from Montessori teachers. Would adopt all of this for my future family. Thank you so much for these videos, they are inspirational and practical.
This made for a fantastic speech lesson for my 3 year old. She keeps asking "what’s the baby doing" then repeats what I say"the baby is ___". It always amazes me how advanced those girlies are. 💖 my 18mo isn’t there yet for most of these
Remember that evry child is different so nobody are advanced for thier age.... If he hops of , make him sit on a weaning table. And remember not to compare him
I have four one year old girls at daycare, there’s not very many videos for daycare teachers but Thank you for sharing your ideas! It’s also harder to do activities with four children at once because they all want to play with the same thing.
Did water pouring with my sons today. My first got it pretty good, my second decided to drink from the measuring cup most of the time I poured water into it.
Teaching life skills to children early on is essential for their future independence and confidence [3:05]. Skills like decision-making, problem-solving, and communication can set them up for success in both personal and professional life
I love how she’s concentrating. My younger one is only a month less from mia and he also focus and do jao activities, however he’s also in the trajectory schema of throwing. So I have put away all the wooden toys. Now I don’t know how to let him explore. Secondly my year old won’t leave my 15 month old to explore and focus at all!!! I can’t keep them separately. As I have only one big space downstairs. I am testing to teach my older to not intervene however she just won’t understand and in fact feels I am focusing and paying more attention on him.
Your little girl is absolutely amazing! How accurate and precise, mind blowing! You are doing incredible job with both of them! I'm watching all videos!
Great video, thank you! My son is just out of the older end of this range but many of these activities still interest him. Would you be able to film also a bit more on how you present each new activity to Mia? I’d be interested to see the interaction to discern the parent’s role in that more clearly. Thanks!
Thanks for your videos ! My daughter is now 16 months. She doesn't have that kind of pation like your little one has but it's nice to see. Lot of toys or sensory games what you have i made myself at home. 🌹💗 Thanks for every video and tips, really helpful!!! Sending love
I swear it was just yesterday that I was watching the birth vlog for the first time. They grow up so fast. You have such incredibly smart girls Ashley.
I don't know why in the comments people are comparing their child. Each child is different. Why do they not understand. I have non other word to say. But Mia is doing great. Evry child is not advanced for their age as all grow on different time. Keep it up Ashley. I love your practice Edit - Thanks Ashley for giving a ❤. What do you think about my comment everyone and Ashley
A wonderful representation of Montessori in the home! I very much enjoyed the inclusion of skills being used/acquired in the notes in the video. Great job utilizing items easily found in a store/online (ie: the locks and latches board). You do not need expensive things to provide a great Montessori environment in your home!
My kid is fascinated by new things... can't wait to try some of these. Of course, once the newness has worn off (after maybe a week) she's back to bouncing around from activity to activity in 3.5 seconds, and then getting into literally everything that she's not allowed to get into (Grandma's cupboards, the pantry, the pretties in the parlor, climbing on the table to try to watch TV on my computer, etc) Guess I just need to figure out a better routine for her...

Somethings of this video ate real montessori style...j'm a old women that when j was 5 yars since 10 year have done real montessory school...my director was a student of maria montessori...for me pay attentions of real method of montessory shool...today a lot of shool open with this method ...but very few shool are ..using the real montessory....j remember and love my montessory shool 💖

It’s amazing that how nicely she is sitting there for that long!! My 20 months old boy is hard to keep him busy with one activity for that long and he throws stuff if you stop him from doing something. Is there any nice way to approach that behavior?!
@@erinpzk the beans would have been all over the floor, under the couch, in every cupboard, in baby's bed, in my bed, and 5 years from now I would still be finding them in random places 🤣
Hi!! I love this series of yours and I was hoping we would have another installment soon, 18 to 21 months. I even took your course because of my love of these activity suggestions. I keep looking out for the next upload but I have not seen any. Please let me know if you will be doing more videos like these. They have been so helpful to me.
Hey Ashley! My son is almost 17mo (16mo corrected as he was premature). I'm trying to implement some of these principles and activities with him, however his favourite activity is to pull everything off every shelf all at once and mix them all together - any tips for getting him to focus on one activity at a time?
Love your videos, learned a lot from it, and you've provided so much ideas and encouragements through your sharing, thank you! Both your girls are so cute!
Love your videos! Please can u also make a video about child safety measures at home and how to contain them at one place when you have to do something.
I had no clue any of these toys existed, this is my first child. Wish I knew about these when he was youNger then he could’ve got a head start on learning everything love these toys so much and def ordering now!!
She is so calmly and patiently doing all activities my son will throw out all thing
I feel like maybe it’s a little boy thing - I have an 18 month old boy too and no way he’d sit still for any of these things! If he can’t smash it, eat it or run around doing it he’s not interested 😂

I was thinking the same thing

Well I just kept my 18 month old busy for an hour with a tray and a ton of lentils. Thanks!
Mia is so advanced for her age, just like her big sissy Kylie. Loved how you stepped in to help her out only when she was struggling! Amazing.

Watching her dust the house! That is just the cutest thing ever.
Wow she is so smart. Amazing. She is quite the little housewife.
Man... Someone give this lady an award!! Thanks a lot for sharing these wonderful ideas!!! Lots of love from India!!❤️🎉

My 14mo old is still at the everything-goes-in-mouth stage yet, but your channel has given me great ideas on how to challenge him!
How do you keep her from putting everything in her mouth? I try and do play dough, crayons and water painting with my fourteen almost fifteen month old and it’s more an exercise where I’m constantly trying to redirect the stuff away from his mouth before giving up and lacking the activity up!
My daughter and granddaughter are teachers of Montessori Schools it's amazing form of learning for children' I think these is great !!
Yes it's amazing
Great video. I have been using solid coloured womens bangles and a mug tree with the children. They love putting the bangles on each hook.
Your children are blessed they have a mom like you. Love you and your girls ❤️

I love Thursdays for a new Montessori at home video!!

At one point all Mia would do in videos was make baby sounds and have her hand appear in the frame while feeding. Now look at everything she can do!
Incredible.
I love how she saw the block wouldn't stand up on the carpet so she put it on another block! So cool to see kids that young problem-solve :D
Yah really adorable kid

She is so right, I like they way she shares with us how she handle her toddlers. My videos are for toddlers to preschoolers learning videos
Impressed by how she isn't trying to eat any non-food item.
I know, my kid won't eat her green beans but any non edible item she finds in any random corner looks like a snack to her.
I was about to say the same thing.. my 15 month old wants to eat everything except food.. 🙄
Wants to eat everything except food 😅. That sounds like my Zyzy 😂😂
Same here with my daughter. She will refuse food and then hunt on the floor for anything that fell off the plate 😆 I am hoping it’s a development stage that she will outgrow
How adorable that she mops up the table after her activity.
I hope you know how much we all appreciate the work you put into these videos! Thank you so much
This was so peaceful to watch. My youngest son is 17 months old and these activities would be perfect for him to try. Thank you so much.
Wow, I don't know anything about Montessori but I'm doing all of this 😄 Sometimes insecure about parenting but this video gives me confidence

Have you considered bean bags and small, light objects (like ping pong balls, and badminton shuttlecocks) for throwing?
Ashley has content on sibling rivalry and a book recommendation for stuff like that
I' m impressed with her. Mia seems to advanced for her age.
Thank you sooo much! Some she already does just by seeing me cleaning! But other ideas very good with everyday items almost!!
Amazing, it shows that Montessori works when done well. Thank you Ashley for sharing and teaching me sooo much.
She is so smart very intelligent she’s amazing
Such a beautiful baby...She is SAME as my daughter lean beautiful smart ❤️

My son is only almost 6 months but I'm still watching this as soon as you upload 😂 I love all your ideas!

thanks again!
