OFTEN ,THE EXTRA POWER "seems to be" at no extra fuel cost. IN FACT, if the fuel and air mix is "properly balanced" to NOT BLOW BLACK SMOKE... You might burn less fuel and have more power with a properly tuned, properly balanced "fuel flow vs. air volume vs. boost pressure" ratios... BLOWING BLACK SMOKE is an indicator that you might be wasting fuel.... {or engine oil is getting past the piston rings...burning crankcase oil.}... Excess DIESEL fuel for the air volume and turbo boost that you have ... Blows smoke. HIGH exhaust temperature PYROMETER READINGS also 'can' indicate "pumping too much fuel". HIGHLY RECOMMEND PYROMETER ""EXHAUST GAS TEMP GUAGE"" and TURBO BOOST GUAGE. MIGHT ALSO WANT AN OIL TEMP GUAGE and oversized rugged quality OIL COOLER. OVERKILL gauges would include temperature gauges "for all of the oils" : transmission, front diff, rear diff, transfer case. Have fun with your new tool or toy.
