Getting to relive the birth of our baby boy was so special to us and it filled our hearts with so much joy! To watch it back gave us the opportunity to experience all of those emotions all over again. Also, made us very excited for what's to come. We can not believe our biggest little blessing is getting so big so quickly. It felt like just yesterday we were in the delivery room enjoying our little newborn for the first time. Precious child! Mine is 22 yrs old today. Born by c-section. We have no video. We didn't even own cell phones then! But we will always have the memories of that happiest of days.
My "baby" is 25 now.
And in his second year of being a substitute teacher.
I'm *so* proud.

My daughter was the same way when she was born. She was 5 weeks early and when she came out she didn't cry either! She was in the NICU for a week. I get the stress of not hearing the baby cry. So happy for you guys and can't believe how big he's gotten!
It’s definitely a scary moment when you don’t hear a cry. He has gotten so big 🥹
What a beautiful birth and baby! Lots of babies take a bit to breath but the nurses always want to be very sure if they don't breath or cry right away. Edward has wonderful parents and looks to be one healthy happy little guy.

Medical gaslighting is when a doctor downplays a patient's symptoms. According to a 2022 survey, 72% of women said they experienced medical gaslighting. 71% of women said their doctor told them their symptoms were imagined. 17% of women said they felt ignored, dismissed, or like they had to prove their symptoms.
This rarely happens with men. This happens even though many labor and menstruation simulations show that women feel significantly less pain than men.
My mom used to make my dad call for doctor's appts. so that they took her seriously.
Knowing multiple people whose doctors that didn't catch their cancer until it was Stage 4, through gaslighting and misdiagnosing, it's a concerning situation.
When Nave has a concern, make sure you go to the doctor with her, make sure the doctors and nurses are taking her issues seriously, it could save her life.
Thank you for taking the time to talk about this...this is a VERY real thing and it especially happens to women and this is going to sound really horrible but in my own personal experience women who are smaller in stature and are softer spoken are just gas lite like crazy. I am a larger woman and have been in an executive position for many years, aka ..aint nobody gas lighting me about anything and I am also the family health advocate for pretty much everyone in my family, which I do with as much LOVE and honour that they trust me to do so, it is truly my honour but I have seen first hand many women in my family and life gas lite and it wont stop until we make it more known that it is happening. I can imagine that Cole will absolutely be her advocate when needed :)

Being young, they might not be aware of it. I mean, I have read stories of babies/mothers nearly dying because a doctor wasn't listening. I get that medical professionals see a lot of stuff but in medical school they learn the phrase, "If you hear hoofbeats, don't look for zebras." Which means they are looking for more general problems and not prepared for the unusual.
More and more I've read about people with unique situations. I don't think zebras are as uncommon as medical schools think.
I don't this changing overnight (or even at all) nor do I want to scare anybody but if Cole speaks up for Nave, it could be the difference between catching something early and having Nave injured or dying. And not just in childbirth but in all things medical.
Loved seeing it again too. He’s adorable and the pride and love on your faces is heart warming.

I still can't get over those cheeks! And the EYES! 😍 Reminds me so much of my son. Head full of dark hair, big cheeks and curious eyes. The little smiles make you gooey! His birth was a bit dramatic & traumatic. Went from 3cm to 5cm and back down to 3cm. He was trying to come too fast so I swelled up and they had to do an emergency C-section. Those contractions, exhausting but your body not letting you lay down or sit. I hope to see you continue to post as your family grows 😉.

Lol..Edward babbling in the beggining is "ummm do ya'll see me...I have the clip part in my mouth guys...not that paci...ok, I;m gonna just keep chewing on it then..." hahaha I am sitting her laughing :) babies will 100% of the time chew on the part of the the thing that isnt supposed to be in the mouth.. ALWAYS, ha ha

Sometimes babies don't cry for a while. My second son didn't take a breath until almost a full minute afgter birth. We kept the cord intact until he could get his full breath, as babies are still getting oxygen through the cord in the first moments after birth. Most of the time, babies just need a moment to adjust and get their lungs to inflate. If youn have a calm birth, it is actually very common for babies not to cry at all at birth. It can be un-nnerving, but as long as they are watching vitals closely, most of the time baby is fine.
Thank you, Nave for sharing your experience. It brings back memories from when my wife had our first daughter 47 years ago. Even tears for this old 70 yo. grandpa.

What a great video. The happiness on both your faces is so heartwarming to see. I've seen video with Daddy/Grandpa Cornstar and they seem to be BFFs. Grandpa never is at a loss for words😅. Edward has been blessed with a loving extended family. Enjoy 😊❤ I always had a camera with my girls. Thousands of pictures later, and now they have babies. It's a strange feeling, as I've been neck deep in children since I was 12. Babysitting, nieces and nephews...then my own. I also raised my sister's children, so 3 girls with 2 1/2 years apart in age. The first 2 are 9 months apart in age. To say the least, I was a very busy Mom. They were very easy girls to raise. ❤😊BTW my husband accidentally took the southern route in the birthing area, and we nearly had to prop him up in the corner 😅. He rallied and he made it back to me. Our baby was a micro preemie, 3 1/2 pounds and 17". They knew I would deliver early (7 months). She was only in the NICU for 12 days, and we brought home a baby that wasn't 4 pounds. She took 45cc of formula every 3 hours, for 15 minutes only. My husband took 2 feedings so I could sleep. Tag team baby😊. Her bath towel was a hand towel! She never cried until she was 6 months old... she had an appetite! She now just received her Master's Degree😊❤ It goes fast, enjoy every moment, and each other. Congratulations ❤

Yes, it does, but all the "firsts" are so exciting! You start looking at the world with new eyes. Everything is new to a baby and their excitement and wonder is contagious.

When my first was born my water broke the same way. A small tare had opened on the top of my placenta so only when I'd get up or bend would a small amount of fluid leak out. They had to "pop" it like yours but quite a bit of fluid was already gone, good thing you didn't wait either, that can be dangerous if the fluid gets too low before delivery. Good job Mom and Dad he is a handsome big adorable baby boy. Oh and while mine are now 28 and 30, they are 16 months apart also

I am a dad. All I know is that you need to cherish every moment at this stage. That child will grow up sofast. My son is now taller than my wife and me and a straight A student in his last year of high school, and driving us around in the car. Happy subscriber 😊!
Ok Nave is that the same look that Cole has after a big poo😉😉 Edward is absolutely a handsome little guy. My oldest son had that much hair when he was born. My sister trimmed his hair when he was just 3 weeks old. 37 years later and I still have that hair in a envelope. Edward is very blessed to have such loving parents and family. God’s continued blessings on you all.
Enjoy this time because before you know it the years go by quicker than you think. One day your child has become a young adult.
