The Outcast Engineer DLC is so weird. It's not a career dlc, it's a "turn ranger vet into a fucking god" dlc and you also happen to receive a new career on the side.
I wish the outcast engineer didn't need to rely on so much support from his teammates to be good. It's just a really hard class to play properly for not enough pay-off. Agreed that the ranger vet is amazing with the new revolver. He is everything the engineer wishes he could be.

Something to add to Unchained for team support. Get the talent which explodes burning enemies, get the talent that reduces the damage of burning enemies by 30%, get the talent which gives your ult a fire aura. And use the coruscation staff. You're still a melee power house but now you offer a shit ton of crowd control and buff the whole team by reducing the damage of every enemy by a significant margin. I've been playing her this way for a while and it's very effective at succeeding runs.
I wouldn't call Zealot's movement speed talent a 'meme' when you consider how much it helps for fighting multiple chaos warriors at once, or multiple mixed hordes, since you can just move backwards really fast and keep doing power attacks while the enemies struggle to reach you even with their running attacks.
Honestly used to hate playing Hand Maiden. But I got talked into it by a random I meant one time and given some good pointers on a build and omg I fell in love with it. I think its also not as loved as its harder to figure out a good build if you don't know what your doing with it

Been using unchained with a Flame Sword + talent that heals for staggers. I legit never die with Unchained Sienna. She can regen up to 10-15hp per hit sometimes. It’s actually insane, she can built temporary health consistently throughout the entire match. Coupled with her ult being a panic button it’s makes her incredibly hard to kill while spamming heavy attacks with flame sword.
both above replies are absolutely wrong - fire sword battle wizard is arguably her strongest choice and what makes her effectively a tank as well as an obscene horde clearer and boss killer. fire sword heavy 1 spam is absurdly safe because of how hard it staggers and how wide its swing is, and the thp generation is so stupid that if you ever do take hits it barely matters.
@@Armendicus The trick is to get a rhythm where you don't fully charge your heavy attacks. You're not hitting for damage, you're doing heavy attacks for the staggers and the temp HP. Your team can kill the enemies all you have to do is keep the horde staggered and use ur ult if the team needs you to.
How is Ironbreaker not S tier? He’s like a short fat armored librarian because when you have him in the party you’re for sure getting out of there with with at least one tome or grim.
Simply not receiving passive healing from waystalker or grail knight would be huge for zealot. Surely it could be bundled into some of his talents, perhaps the THP generating talents, so that if you're doing some weird off meta shit and want healing for some reason you can just take heal share. Even a sanctioned mod that does it would be great.

Salty main here, personally I think your description on zealot is spot on. My favorite class to play but a bad team makes it infuriating some times (or RNG during CW). Easy A tier or easy C tier. Split the middle. Personally I think bounty hunter should be A tier. Rapier using half stamina for push block attacks makes him tanker than most people think, also easy to make space for ranged attacks, especially with added stam, block cost reduction, and stam regen. And the griffin foot pistols are soo fun and good to use, plus monster damage, definitely not S tier but I think he's deserving of low A at least. Regardless, Great video! No real complaints
As a general point of view, anything that is armour piercing and has crowd control and wide sweeps. I'm not even joking. Sword and shield may be okay, but you kill literally more enemies when you have the second and third stats. Armour piercing was also my go to from the first game. Why swing slow when you can do the same thing faster? (That's kinda why spear and shield for Kruber is poor. It's okay, but it isn't anything. Especially compared to the other stuff you get from that pack)
I'd argue engineer is the worst class. The win loss rate tanks whenever there is an engineer in the party. Yes he does great damage. But he needs another player watching his but the whole game. And does he do two players worth of damage?
He's rough in a quickplay because no one really wants to do the work of protecting him. I don't blame anyone for this btw, but he at least has the potential to synergize nicely with a few characters where pyro does not and has an ult that kinda doesn't work.
I play engineer with axe and shield, secondary fire only on pistol and the perk which gives you immense stagger so you can shield bash multiple chaos warriors to the floor when using 50% extra on attacking enemies and stagger temp health.... I find I dish out shed loads of dmg and barely get downed compared to others because the mini gun is a trap design.... Use it at risk of being hit but if you're selective and use pistol for close range elites at mid range he is OP!
@@wjnovels6999 Yeah i feel the axe and shield is a must have when playing engi, it helps him with his terrible survivability and i also use that extra stagger talent which is really good for setting up his ranged weapons. I feel that engi got a whole lot better when the trollhammer got introduced which has become my preffered weapon on him as previously i felt he struggled with elites unless you used his armour piercing shots for his minigun.
I’d honestly argue that OE is actually good in legend and up for the sheer amount of tools he can bring to support any team comp. Between his melee/ranged/mini gun, he can be kitted out to deal with literally any threat. Yes, good players can handle hordes, but the sheer horde control the mini gun confers can save a match if three disablers spawn at once, or a large patrol gets involved. And this is without even mentioning that OE has the objectively best bomb perk in the game. When on high difficulties, bombs are a rare and still exceedingly useful resource against patrols and monsters. 3x buffed up bombs with a 25% dupe chance on trinket is so damn strong. If you can get a cooperative team feeding you bombs, I think that perk becomes best in row tbh.
Sometimes horde clear via ranged is actively a detriment. You're denying your team easy temp hp, which can be what causes those types of situations to begin with. You also have to consider that the opportunity cost of playing OE is not being able to play RV who is a fantastic ranged support nowadays. He's perfectly playable on legend and cataclysm but he can sometimes cause problems, especially if the OE player has a green circle chaser mentality that just vaporizes hordes and provides no meaningful benefit to the team.
RV has a better bomb perk. I hate seeing oe in my team because he makes games not fun by killing hordes by himself. He's not an elf with a jav but still anoying.
I'd like to add that he can gain a little bit more versatility by choosing Superior Gaskets and Combined Arms talents, which help him hold his own in melee. Combined Arms boosts his melee power and synergize well with his ranged capabilities, I think that's his most important talent. Superior Gaskets allows to "forget" cranking once 4 stacks are reached and gives a +10% max attack speed bonus. Add Ablative Armour and you're not a bad melee fighter for a "pure ranged" class
IMO Foot Knight should be higher A tier or possibly S tier. He has team support in one of the strongest(and most versatile) passives. I would argue that it is more reliable than Grail Knight since high damage reduction(or block cost) is guarantied. I would also say that he surpasses most of the S tier class in survivability. The only thing he is lacking in is his damage, which he makes up for with his incredible stagger using 2H hammer. He also has access to range which puts him leagues ahead of GK for dealing with specials. Overall, he has incredible survivability, amazing and consistent team support, and decent damage.
Shade is an S tier if team knows how to help her and how to let her kill big things, while help her with hordes mostly. When team annoy her moving the boss or monster around they actually hurt the ability she has to help the team killing things. So in a good team she becomes an S tier class, in a descent one she stays as A tier, with a bad team she becames a B tier because team makes her job harder.
I dig the list and it seemed like each placement was well thought out, I even learned a thing or two like WHC's passive working for the whole team. If I had to wine about something it would be to point out that the shade doesnt just separate from the team, her constant cycle of invisibility is dumping her share of the agro on the remaining three team members. While ranger does this a bit as well, his at least comes with a knock back and can be buffed to also provide the temp health and attack speed to the rest of the group along with not happening nearly as often. I am pretty sure their would have been a riot if you put her any lower though lol. Also, the new elf is still pretty broken OP IMO. They did nerf her strongest talent, yes, but I would argue that post nerf, it is still so strong that every other career in the game would still kill to have it. Not to mention, the rest of her kit is still super solid. I am glad they didnt nerf her to death of course, but I was expecting a tad more as an initial test.
That's my biggest complaint with invisible characters, not that they aren't good, or don't buff, or that they don't kill things. But most of the time ults are for sticky situations, and when someone or 2 players go invisible it can really fuck the other players up. Good team work or knowledge of why and when to go invisible is rarely a thing in quick play. However invisible ults are really good, just not for the players who can't lol.
i think Handmaiden should get a rework, right now i think she is way to powerful while simultaneously being tediously basic. Also great tierlist! Going into this i thought i would disagree allot more but i did not. Though i would have placed huntsman and zelot lower, while maybe pushing merc and sisterOT up a tier.
Next time you're being dragged away by a packmaster and Grail Knight Kruber is waddling after you at 0.5mph you should reconsider your S tier placement lol
This is a tier list for cata+, where you HAVE to rely on team mates. Being pure melee isn't necessarily a downside if you offer enough benefits elsewhere (which GK does in spades).
Tbh I personally don't really count stealth too highly due to stealth having the habit of making CW's 180ing mid overhead to your teammates because weird targeting ai. Additionally, this is well thought out, props my duderino.
Idk why outcast engineer is always super low tier… like 3 grenades at a time, mini gun, etc he makes a great boss killer and horde slayer! I usually get top special and elite kills, great damage, etc while giving allies cover fire to do what they need to do. Honestly would put him up to B at least
Being green healed by your teamates as zaelot is just absolutly painful and I which he would be immune like you said, but sadly I think that will never happen
It's true, because in this game, once you get some health - it's nearly impossible to lose it. Never has anyone suffered more than a zealot player receiving waystalker's team healing.
As others have said, I think rn SoT is also S Tier. She just brute forces her way in there. She offers dmg and control to the team + utility via inc heal. She's also quite durable in a lot of situations. Personally, I hope they somewhat tune down her passives (the temp hp gain and the inc dmg based on enemy health), which should bring her in line.
Great hammer on Iron breaker. You then gain huge damage, and crowd control. You just lose your shield, but not the worst sacrifice. Build him like a dwarf hammerer.
I built mine with normal Hammer for horde control in close combat and the Flame gun for incoming hordes and bosses. Feels so nice to whack a bunch of enemies just cutting through them, even better if his invincibility skill is on.
To answer Unchained's staff dilemma that you had in the video, her most versatile staff would be beam staff. You can take out all specials with it using 3 power beams in quick succession, which can be done very fast, so it's not that bad once you get the hang of it. Each beam you fire this way staggers the special in place too, so you can just spam it 3 times really quickly and kill them from any distance. It's also probably her best staff to build her overcharge quickly using the shotgun mode to get that 15% extra attack speed.
Not to mention you can clear hordes solo insanely fast with beam staff. Run into a horde spamming the shotgun, pop your ult to clear overcharge (bonus points if you're using the power per enemy hit ult) then continue spamming shotgun. I've cleared out entire hordes on my own in a matter of seconds doing this. There's a lot Unchained can do that wasn't mentioned in this video and personally I don't agree with the B rating. I'd personally put her at A but to each their own.
WAIT, Shade can stealth to revive a team mate, one shot bosses, save your team from patrols with chain backstabs but she's got very little in the way of team support?
I hope this video won't discourage you from playing a career you like. Wet magic makes cool videos, but some things are just his opinion. There is a video on this channel wholly dedicated to criticism of the huntsman, from which it becomes apparent he just doesn't like the huntsman. Huntsman is a good class and plays well on my preferred difficulty (on legend). On cata you might have to choose meta, anything below - play whatever you want.
this is based on performanc on the highest dificulty settings and even boyond. It is not indicativ on what you should play in general. But yea they do deserve allot more love. There were allot of patches were those two were gods and maybe they will be again in the future.
I love playing grail knight, his sidequest bonuses scale really well and he is GREAT at oneshotting elites with an executiioners sword, also his skill does HUGE damage to bosses

i love bounty hunter, but only issue I see with him now is on chaos wastes, when going into a chest of trials and selecting your boon, it completely resets the damage reduction talent so you have to start again, which makes the ability which doesn't cross to the next mission (there already being its other con but manageable) worse on you as half the time, your stuck at the lower side of that damage reduction, not feeling a difference. hope this does get patched though.
BW does have one REALLY good team support thing going for her. Her ult allows her to both teleport to someone who's been downed and away again. Staggering enemies around on both uses, which allows the downed person a chance to get up without getting instantly killed aswell. Sometimes when fx. handmaiden revives, you just end up getting instantly killed because you're in the middle of a horde or there's elites doing overheads right as you get up, BW is by far the best at reviving in those situations.
Tbh the broken op SoT build aside i would put her in S cause of her hit Points and the 25% healing buff for every one every where even if they nerf the op build i feel like her wave and Elite management with the staff and her ult is insane
what you call an OP build? I think you talk about just her standard build becasue going by what you said - every career has OP build since there is always this one "best talents to take" build every career has.
Outcast engineer is tons of fun, but his talents and passives feel all over the place. On one hand I love the variety, on the other hand I don’t understand it. What good is having three bombs for instance? That is highly dependent on a cooperative team and RNG, why should teammates even give them to you anyways if you aren’t running a dedicated bomb loadout? That passive is already extremely flawed. Bomb passive suggestion: Instead of carrying three bombs like some sort of disgraceful loot goblin, make it where engineer can passively create his own unique bomb after a certain kill count. Think grail knight strength pots but with a dawi explosive instead. To keep things balanced why not give the bomb unique. Maybe the bomb doesn’t explode on impact, maybe the fourth talent tree can instead focus on buffing this bomb by giving unique and useful quirks. Personally I love the idea of a timed sticky bomb, we sorta have that in chaos wastes as is. Just make it more common but significantly weaker. (Before anyone questions balance for this, remember Child of the thorn or can summon *several* thorn walls and use a staff that can completely stun 90% of all enemies in the game… Giving the engineer the ability to make miniature explosives isn’t anything to sneeze at, especially since it could be made to functional as a utility item instead.) Spotter as a passive: A good idea on paper but it defeats the entire purpose of engineer. why? You want your teammates to fight in melee while **you** draw your clunky minigun and mulch bad guys. Sure +10 ranged power can be nifty, but you already have a high volume of fire. The last thing you need is more damage, what’s needed is sustainability. Ablative armor: This perk is basically needed on higher difficulties (unless you are playing with a tight knit team.) Though it’s not perfect it’s better than nothing, basically just bargain bin Barkskin. Despite its flaws I Honestly I think this should replace spotter as Engineers support passive, it should be something naturally applied to the engineer and his allies who are near him. It would greatly improve engineer and nearby teammates when things get hairy. It would naturally encourage allies to stay close to you, increase everyones survivability, an extra layer against chip damage, and gives engineer a slight durability buff without being *too* strong. I appreciate the honest assessment of the career. Definitely one of my favorites that I’ve clung to religiously since it’s release, but one that I really hope they go back and give some much needed rebalancing too.
You put one of my 2 fav classes in D-tier and the other in S-tier haha. I LOVE Bardin's minigun and always get the most ranged kills when I play outcast engineer
As a salt bounty main I totally understand your placement and as I have played other characters and gotten better at them I realized how just “okay” bounty was. He’s very skill based and revolves around if the person can hit their shots and if the team is willing to play around not staggering the boss so you can get those double headshots. Awesome list and agree with it 100 percent and the fact that i don’t know much about senna as she is the only class I don’t play was interesting.
Awesome list. I like how you valued these characters. I have been loving Foot Knight lately. I thought Ironbreaker would be such a better tank, but it's just a very different tank character.

I mostly agree. I didn't weight team support as heavily as you did - so with that in mind I'd drop OE to D and bump shade up. I think it's good game design that 3/5 starting classes are S tier. I think waystalker is really held back by basically being forced to take Kurnos' Reward at 30 unless you're using Moonfire or Javelins. Loaded Bow + Blood shot makes your career skill do so so much damage - and the 50% heal I'd argue is still good.
Pyromancers ult is funny because it is lore friendly, magic doesn't always work the way you want it to in warhammer - the fact it can just randomly go off in the wrong direction is a great representation of the tabletops miscast mechanic. They should definitely change it though, lorefriendly isn't always fun.
Minor tip, lower the background music so that your voice doesn't occasionally get drowned out. Had to strain to hear you once or twice. Other than that, great vid.
I think I should mention that a Potion of Concentration combined with the Crank Gun for Outcast Engineer is insanely fun. Especially if you have the very rare gear piece that makes potions last longer. I always pack that potion whenever I play it.
I just started playing this game about a week ago when the game went free on steam and this is the exact build I run. The amount of dmg output you make is insane and you would not be surprised when you get too dmg every run
I love my tanky boi Ironbreaker. Crowd control, drawing aggro, staggering hordes with nice big heavy swings, sniping specials. Hard to get good end game stats in Chaos Wastes but does a lot of work for the team. Guess what I'll be playing in Darktide. Yes sah! Crumpin' n slappin' silly lil' men for dah Emp'rah.
Really enjoyed this, new to V2 because Darktide. Was about halfway through the video and then I realised something was wrong… You were talking Warhammer but had Skyrim music playing, too harmonious and encouraging for the grim darkness of Warhammer 😂
I played sienna all wrong my first times with her. I believe every character has their weapons and sienna’s dagger is the play. Seriously I run around like a coked up maniac (while I vent ) stabbing everything before they even blink. It’s like playing blood borne as I get all my health back then proceed to light everything ablaze again.
I personally think that waystalker can be a great dps class and I frequently find her to be one of my favorites, especially with moon bow. Great list though. Well done.
I would like to add a small bit unsure if others have said this or not, nor will I bother to scroll to find out, Slayer does have a ranged weapon with the Winds of Magic DLC being Throwing axes you get 3 of them and to "Reload" he summons them back to his hand which has a delay of about 1 to 2 seconds per throwing axes.
The mercenary belongs in S tier if you build him right he deal high burst damage and good crowd control and good team support with good survivability cuz of his career skill
How to make Pyromancer a better class: Talent lvl 30: Exhaust:The Burning Head, Removes overcharge and grant more crit chance, only for pyromancer Bonded Flame: The Burning Head, Restore 35 temporaro to ALL PARTY Blazing Echo: The Burning Head now grants same % crit of Critical Mass to all the party during 10 seconds
Haven't played alot, but I noticed that Way stalker gets really tanky when you have knifes that can "headshot" and you have the ability that gives temp hp on every headshot kill. I can't remember if that's an ability that is available to all Kerillian's careers, but it does negate the way stalker's lack of survivability.
I feel like you underrated Waystalker, but then I also don't play Cataclysm difficulty, so maybe it has to do with that. Her special is just so versatile, in any difficult situation it solves your problems. The homing effect can get specials off allies you otherwise couldn't reach, it can just straight up kill 5 plague monks running up to your team, so many applications. It's not even really bad against hordes either, since the arrows penetrate for some reason. Press F, and chances are whatever was bothering you isn't alive anymore
As someone who plays a lot of Kruber, I wish Grail Knight wasn't such a boring career to play as. His ult is a one click kill everything button on a ridiculously short cooldown with no nuance or skill, and his passive team buffs are not interesting or interactive. They just require you to do things that you would do anyway.
Yeah, I freakin' agree with Pyromancer placement. She literally has only her career skill that saves her, and that's hardly enough. The choice is between half of pyromancer with more and also an overcharge assistance, having a somewhat good homing attack every 2 minutes with a low quality damage boost and nothing else, or having the ability to straight up avoid dying to your own overcharge. There's no contest there! Plus, I have managed to skip small parts of missions with Battle Wizard fire walk.
I use Unchained with the Bolt staff and I can pretty much carry or babysit any team through a legend run. The stun and stagger she produces is unmatched. I'm good with monsters but I do rely on bombs or areas I can block and dodge around to keep the agro.
A nice one, though I disagree with some of the choices. It seems to me that by trying to take into account dmg, tankiness and support you kinda made it a tier list of versatility. A good thing, sure, but in a good team almost any character can do nicely in a right niche. Except that there will sometimes be characters that do the same thing AND something else, like with the Huntsman and Shade. However, the poor Engi plummets down because he's just too specialised for his own good. He needs protection, indeed.. however if he gets it, he melts pretty much anything that comes into range. As a Handmaiden main (somewhat transitioning to the Foot Knight, but they are pretty much the same, it's just that Kerillian is more popular so it's easier to get a team as Kruber) I always prioritise defence of a decent Engineer and I know the results they can achieve. Pyro is fun to play!.. but... yeah... Fun fact - my friend started as a Zealot main for that easy big damage gameplay, but now his hero of choice is WHC. Damage output only got greater. Btw you've forgot to mention that he has free blocks on light attacks which boosts his survivability even more. I'm currently trying the Ranger Veteran as a melee class with throwing axes, making use of his 25% power boost when out of ammo. It's.. definitely fun to try.
Do you know any tier list which separates the different roles? Like separate tier lists for boss killers, front liners, ranged elite and special killers
I would say that Unchained is A tier. You have great crowd/hord controle while using flamethrower with special ability and at the same time you can use teamsupport runes. Only bad thing about Unchained is that if you dont have your special ability charched you will explode and give like 20-30 demage to teammates. But thats just my opinion and i have only finished everything on Legend difficulty and i dont know how difficult the Cataclysm is)
I started playing the game few days ago as Waystalker. And for now.. played arround 20 hours, no other hero could beat me at the end score list. Waystalker is just OP for many things.. Only bad vs bosses.. And just to add, friends who I play with are all maxed out and much longer in game than me. So I am shocked as they are lol

Something to add to Unchained for team support. Get the talent which explodes burning enemies, get the talent that reduces the damage of burning enemies by 30%, get the talent which gives your ult a fire aura. And use the coruscation staff. You're still a melee power house but now you offer a shit ton of crowd control and buff the whole team by reducing the damage of every enemy by a significant margin. I've been playing her this way for a while and it's very effective at succeeding runs.

I wouldn't call Zealot's movement speed talent a 'meme' when you consider how much it helps for fighting multiple chaos warriors at once, or multiple mixed hordes, since you can just move backwards really fast and keep doing power attacks while the enemies struggle to reach you even with their running attacks.
Handmaiden doesn't get enough love, she isn't as flashy as the other Kerillian careers but she's the most well rounded.
I really think the moonfire put her right at the top. She was great already, but now she's just awesome.
I always used Handmaiden when I played her, I'm not big brain enough for the backstabbing and not dying
Honestly used to hate playing Hand Maiden. But I got talked into it by a random I meant one time and given some good pointers on a build and omg I fell in love with it. I think its also not as loved as its harder to figure out a good build if you don't know what your doing with it

Outcast Engineer is probably a C tier but it's damn fun.
Unchained may be B tier, but if ranking by fun factor I'd put her in S tier.

Been using unchained with a Flame Sword + talent that heals for staggers. I legit never die with Unchained Sienna. She can regen up to 10-15hp per hit sometimes. It’s actually insane, she can built temporary health consistently throughout the entire match. Coupled with her ult being a panic button it’s makes her incredibly hard to kill while spamming heavy attacks with flame sword.
What difficulty are you playing on?

both above replies are absolutely wrong - fire sword battle wizard is arguably her strongest choice and what makes her effectively a tank as well as an obscene horde clearer and boss killer. fire sword heavy 1 spam is absurdly safe because of how hard it staggers and how wide its swing is, and the thp generation is so stupid that if you ever do take hits it barely matters.
@@Armendicus The trick is to get a rhythm where you don't fully charge your heavy attacks. You're not hitting for damage, you're doing heavy attacks for the staggers and the temp HP. Your team can kill the enemies all you have to do is keep the horde staggered and use ur ult if the team needs you to.
How is Ironbreaker not S tier? He’s like a short fat armored librarian because when you have him in the party you’re for sure getting out of there with with at least one tome or grim.
Simply not receiving passive healing from waystalker or grail knight would be huge for zealot. Surely it could be bundled into some of his talents, perhaps the THP generating talents, so that if you're doing some weird off meta shit and want healing for some reason you can just take heal share. Even a sanctioned mod that does it would be great.

Besides Bounty Hunter I’m not at all disappointed with the tier list. This is my first tier video so honestly the fact that my second favorite character is the best overall makes it worthwhile

Salty main here, personally I think your description on zealot is spot on. My favorite class to play but a bad team makes it infuriating some times (or RNG during CW). Easy A tier or easy C tier. Split the middle. Personally I think bounty hunter should be A tier. Rapier using half stamina for push block attacks makes him tanker than most people think, also easy to make space for ranged attacks, especially with added stam, block cost reduction, and stam regen. And the griffin foot pistols are soo fun and good to use, plus monster damage, definitely not S tier but I think he's deserving of low A at least. Regardless, Great video! No real complaints

Outcast is my favourite class, but you're right he is dependent on other people, but if they have your back, the team is spot on.
You should do a weapon tier list, I recently started and I have no idea what weapons are considered great.
I have done alot of weapon tier lists in relation to specific careers actually. I believe there is a whole playlist for them on my channel page.
As a general point of view, anything that is armour piercing and has crowd control and wide sweeps. I'm not even joking. Sword and shield may be okay, but you kill literally more enemies when you have the second and third stats. Armour piercing was also my go to from the first game. Why swing slow when you can do the same thing faster? (That's kinda why spear and shield for Kruber is poor. It's okay, but it isn't anything. Especially compared to the other stuff you get from that pack)
Any careers that can use spear and shield weapons are triple mega S++ tier, and thats a fact.
I'd argue engineer is the worst class. The win loss rate tanks whenever there is an engineer in the party. Yes he does great damage. But he needs another player watching his but the whole game. And does he do two players worth of damage?

He's rough in a quickplay because no one really wants to do the work of protecting him. I don't blame anyone for this btw, but he at least has the potential to synergize nicely with a few characters where pyro does not and has an ult that kinda doesn't work.
I play engineer with axe and shield, secondary fire only on pistol and the perk which gives you immense stagger so you can shield bash multiple chaos warriors to the floor when using 50% extra on attacking enemies and stagger temp health.... I find I dish out shed loads of dmg and barely get downed compared to others because the mini gun is a trap design.... Use it at risk of being hit but if you're selective and use pistol for close range elites at mid range he is OP!
@@wjnovels6999 Yeah i feel the axe and shield is a must have when playing engi, it helps him with his terrible survivability and i also use that extra stagger talent which is really good for setting up his ranged weapons. I feel that engi got a whole lot better when the trollhammer got introduced which has become my preffered weapon on him as previously i felt he struggled with elites unless you used his armour piercing shots for his minigun.
I’d honestly argue that OE is actually good in legend and up for the sheer amount of tools he can bring to support any team comp. Between his melee/ranged/mini gun, he can be kitted out to deal with literally any threat.
Yes, good players can handle hordes, but the sheer horde control the mini gun confers can save a match if three disablers spawn at once, or a large patrol gets involved.
And this is without even mentioning that OE has the objectively best bomb perk in the game. When on high difficulties, bombs are a rare and still exceedingly useful resource against patrols and monsters. 3x buffed up bombs with a 25% dupe chance on trinket is so damn strong. If you can get a cooperative team feeding you bombs, I think that perk becomes best in row tbh.
Sometimes horde clear via ranged is actively a detriment. You're denying your team easy temp hp, which can be what causes those types of situations to begin with.
You also have to consider that the opportunity cost of playing OE is not being able to play RV who is a fantastic ranged support nowadays.
He's perfectly playable on legend and cataclysm but he can sometimes cause problems, especially if the OE player has a green circle chaser mentality that just vaporizes hordes and provides no meaningful benefit to the team.

RV has a better bomb perk. I hate seeing oe in my team because he makes games not fun by killing hordes by himself. He's not an elf with a jav but still anoying.

I'd like to add that he can gain a little bit more versatility by choosing Superior Gaskets and Combined Arms talents, which help him hold his own in melee. Combined Arms boosts his melee power and synergize well with his ranged capabilities, I think that's his most important talent. Superior Gaskets allows to "forget" cranking once 4 stacks are reached and gives a +10% max attack speed bonus. Add Ablative Armour and you're not a bad melee fighter for a "pure ranged" class

IMO Foot Knight should be higher A tier or possibly S tier. He has team support in one of the strongest(and most versatile) passives. I would argue that it is more reliable than Grail Knight since high damage reduction(or block cost) is guarantied. I would also say that he surpasses most of the S tier class in survivability. The only thing he is lacking in is his damage, which he makes up for with his incredible stagger using 2H hammer. He also has access to range which puts him leagues ahead of GK for dealing with specials.
Overall, he has incredible survivability, amazing and consistent team support, and decent damage.
I’ve never seen anyone use 2h hammer in Cata. Maybe it’s doable but tough which sounds rewarding.

Shade is an S tier if team knows how to help her and how to let her kill big things, while help her with hordes mostly.
When team annoy her moving the boss or monster around they actually hurt the ability she has to help the team killing things.
So in a good team she becomes an S tier class, in a descent one she stays as A tier, with a bad team she becames a B tier because team makes her job harder.
I only play BH because that's what i enjoy but it feels lacking many times, B tier is fair. Witch hunter is better but he doesn't have that bh drip :(
I dig the list and it seemed like each placement was well thought out, I even learned a thing or two like WHC's passive working for the whole team. If I had to wine about something it would be to point out that the shade doesnt just separate from the team, her constant cycle of invisibility is dumping her share of the agro on the remaining three team members. While ranger does this a bit as well, his at least comes with a knock back and can be buffed to also provide the temp health and attack speed to the rest of the group along with not happening nearly as often. I am pretty sure their would have been a riot if you put her any lower though lol. Also, the new elf is still pretty broken OP IMO. They did nerf her strongest talent, yes, but I would argue that post nerf, it is still so strong that every other career in the game would still kill to have it. Not to mention, the rest of her kit is still super solid. I am glad they didnt nerf her to death of course, but I was expecting a tad more as an initial test.
That's my biggest complaint with invisible characters, not that they aren't good, or don't buff, or that they don't kill things. But most of the time ults are for sticky situations, and when someone or 2 players go invisible it can really fuck the other players up. Good team work or knowledge of why and when to go invisible is rarely a thing in quick play. However invisible ults are really good, just not for the players who can't lol.
i think Handmaiden should get a rework, right now i think she is way to powerful while simultaneously being tediously basic.

This is a tier list for cata+, where you HAVE to rely on team mates. Being pure melee isn't necessarily a downside if you offer enough benefits elsewhere (which GK does in spades).
Tbh I personally don't really count stealth too highly due to stealth having the habit of making CW's 180ing mid overhead to your teammates because weird targeting ai. Additionally, this is well thought out, props my duderino.
That is fair. I do think its useful more times than its not though.
Idk why outcast engineer is always super low tier… like 3 grenades at a time, mini gun, etc he makes a great boss killer and horde slayer! I usually get top special and elite kills, great damage, etc while giving allies cover fire to do what they need to do.

It's true, because in this game, once you get some health - it's nearly impossible to lose it. Never has anyone suffered more than a zealot player receiving waystalker's team healing.

As others have said, I think rn SoT is also S Tier. She just brute forces her way in there. She offers dmg and control to the team + utility via inc heal. She's also quite durable in a lot of situations. Personally, I hope they somewhat tune down her passives (the temp hp gain and the inc dmg based on enemy health), which should bring her in line.

Great hammer on Iron breaker. You then gain huge damage, and crowd control. You just lose your shield, but not the worst sacrifice. Build him like a dwarf hammerer.
I built mine with normal Hammer for horde control in close combat and the Flame gun for incoming hordes and bosses. Feels so nice to whack a bunch of enemies just cutting through them, even better if his invincibility skill is on.

To answer Unchained's staff dilemma that you had in the video, her most versatile staff would be beam staff. You can take out all specials with it using 3 power beams in quick succession, which can be done very fast, so it's not that bad once you get the hang of it. Each beam you fire this way staggers the special in place too, so you can just spam it 3 times really quickly and kill them from any distance. It's also probably her best staff to build her overcharge quickly using the shotgun mode to get that 15% extra attack speed.
Not to mention you can clear hordes solo insanely fast with beam staff. Run into a horde spamming the shotgun, pop your ult to clear overcharge (bonus points if you're using the power per enemy hit ult) then continue spamming shotgun. I've cleared out entire hordes on my own in a matter of seconds doing this.
There's a lot Unchained can do that wasn't mentioned in this video and personally I don't agree with the B rating. I'd personally put her at A but to each their own.
WAIT, Shade can stealth to revive a team mate, one shot bosses, save your team from patrols with chain backstabs but she's got very little in the way of team support?

I hope this video won't discourage you from playing a career you like. Wet magic makes cool videos, but some things are just his opinion. There is a video on this channel wholly dedicated to criticism of the huntsman, from which it becomes apparent he just doesn't like the huntsman. Huntsman is a good class and plays well on my preferred difficulty (on legend). On cata you might have to choose meta, anything below - play whatever you want.
this is based on performanc on the highest dificulty settings and even boyond. It is not indicativ on what you should play in general.
But yea they do deserve allot more love.
There were allot of patches were those two were gods and maybe they will be again in the future.

I love playing grail knight, his sidequest bonuses scale really well and he is GREAT at oneshotting elites with an executiioners sword, also his skill does HUGE damage to bosses

i love bounty hunter, but only issue I see with him now is on chaos wastes, when going into a chest of trials and selecting your boon, it completely resets the damage reduction talent so you have to start again, which makes the ability which doesn't cross to the next mission (there already being its other con but manageable) worse on you as half the time, your stuck at the lower side of that damage reduction, not feeling a difference. hope this does get patched though.

BW does have one REALLY good team support thing going for her. Her ult allows her to both teleport to someone who's been downed and away again. Staggering enemies around on both uses, which allows the downed person a chance to get up without getting instantly killed aswell.
Sometimes when fx. handmaiden revives, you just end up getting instantly killed because you're in the middle of a horde or there's elites doing overheads right as you get up, BW is by far the best at reviving in those situations.
Into B tier and he hasn't attacked UC, this is a win!

Tbh the broken op SoT build aside i would put her in S cause of her hit Points and the 25% healing buff for every one every where even if they nerf the op build i feel like her wave and Elite management with the staff and her ult is insane
what you call an OP build? I think you talk about just her standard build becasue going by what you said - every career has OP build since there is always this one "best talents to take" build every career has.
Outcast engineer is tons of fun, but his talents and passives feel all over the place. On one hand I love the variety, on the other hand I don’t understand it.
What good is having three bombs for instance? That is highly dependent on a cooperative team and RNG, why should teammates even give them to you anyways if you aren’t running a dedicated bomb loadout? That passive is already extremely flawed.
Bomb passive suggestion:
Instead of carrying three bombs like some sort of disgraceful loot goblin, make it where engineer can passively create his own unique bomb after a certain kill count. Think grail knight strength pots but with a dawi explosive instead.
To keep things balanced why not give the bomb unique. Maybe the bomb doesn’t explode on impact, maybe the fourth talent tree can instead focus on buffing this bomb by giving unique and useful quirks. Personally I love the idea of a timed sticky bomb, we sorta have that in chaos wastes as is. Just make it more common but significantly weaker.
(Before anyone questions balance for this, remember Child of the thorn or can summon *several* thorn walls and use a staff that can completely stun 90% of all enemies in the game…
Giving the engineer the ability to make miniature explosives isn’t anything to sneeze at, especially since it could be made to functional as a utility item instead.)
Spotter as a passive:
A good idea on paper but it defeats the entire purpose of engineer. why? You want your teammates to fight in melee while **you** draw your clunky minigun and mulch bad guys.
Sure +10 ranged power can be nifty, but you already have a high volume of fire. The last thing you need is more damage, what’s needed is sustainability.
Ablative armor:
This perk is basically needed on higher difficulties (unless you are playing with a tight knit team.) Though it’s not perfect it’s better than nothing, basically just bargain bin Barkskin. Despite its flaws I Honestly I think this should replace spotter as Engineers support passive, it should be something naturally applied to the engineer and his allies who are near him.
It would greatly improve engineer and nearby teammates when things get hairy. It would naturally encourage allies to stay close to you, increase everyones survivability, an extra layer against chip damage, and gives engineer a slight durability buff without being *too* strong.
I appreciate the honest assessment of the career. Definitely one of my favorites that I’ve clung to religiously since it’s release, but one that I really hope they go back and give some much needed rebalancing too.

As a salt bounty main I totally understand your placement and as I have played other characters and gotten better at them I realized how just “okay” bounty was. He’s very skill based and revolves around if the person can hit their shots and if the team is willing to play around not staggering the boss so you can get those double headshots. Awesome list and agree with it 100 percent and the fact that i don’t know much about senna as she is the only class I don’t play was interesting.
Awesome list. I like how you valued these characters. I have been loving Foot Knight lately. I thought Ironbreaker would be such a better tank, but it's just a very different tank character.

I mostly agree. I didn't weight team support as heavily as you did - so with that in mind I'd drop OE to D and bump shade up.
I think it's good game design that 3/5 starting classes are S tier. I think waystalker is really held back by basically being forced to take Kurnos' Reward at 30 unless you're using Moonfire or Javelins. Loaded Bow + Blood shot makes your career skill do so so much damage - and the 50% heal I'd argue is still good.
Pyromancers ult is funny because it is lore friendly, magic doesn't always work the way you want it to in warhammer - the fact it can just randomly go off in the wrong direction is a great representation of the tabletops miscast mechanic. They should definitely change it though, lorefriendly isn't always fun.

I think I should mention that a Potion of Concentration combined with the Crank Gun for Outcast Engineer is insanely fun. Especially if you have the very rare gear piece that makes potions last longer. I always pack that potion whenever I play it.
I just started playing this game about a week ago when the game went free on steam and this is the exact build I run. The amount of dmg output you make is insane and you would not be surprised when you get too dmg every run
I love my tanky boi Ironbreaker. Crowd control, drawing aggro, staggering hordes with nice big heavy swings, sniping specials. Hard to get good end game stats in Chaos Wastes but does a lot of work for the team.
Guess what I'll be playing in Darktide. Yes sah! Crumpin' n slappin' silly lil' men for dah Emp'rah.

I played sienna all wrong my first times with her. I believe every character has their weapons and sienna’s dagger is the play. Seriously I run around like a coked up maniac (while I vent ) stabbing everything before they even blink. It’s like playing blood borne as I get all my health back then proceed to light everything ablaze again.
I personally think that waystalker can be a great dps class and I frequently find her to be one of my favorites, especially with moon bow. Great list though. Well done.
I would like to add a small bit unsure if others have said this or not, nor will I bother to scroll to find out, Slayer does have a ranged weapon with the Winds of Magic DLC being Throwing axes you get 3 of them and to "Reload" he summons them back to his hand which has a delay of about 1 to 2 seconds per throwing axes.
The mercenary belongs in S tier if you build him right he deal high burst damage and good crowd control and good team support with good survivability cuz of his career skill
How to make Pyromancer a better class:
Talent lvl 30:
Exhaust:The Burning Head, Removes overcharge and grant more crit chance, only for pyromancer
Bonded Flame: The Burning Head, Restore 35 temporaro to ALL PARTY
Blazing Echo: The Burning Head now grants same % crit of Critical Mass to all the party during 10 seconds
Haven't played alot, but I noticed that Way stalker gets really tanky when you have knifes that can "headshot" and you have the ability that gives temp hp on every headshot kill. I can't remember if that's an ability that is available to all Kerillian's careers, but it does negate the way stalker's lack of survivability.
Funny how a lot of ppl kicked me for picking handmaiden. She was my fav since launch, even more with spear and shield
90% block cost reduction is insane, albeit overkill on hand maiden. Or 60% and free up a stat on your weapon
Dunno if it's overkill. 90% of the time 60% bcr will suffice, but it's the other 10% where hm really shines so imo it's always worth getting the 90%.
Not to obscure his lack of survivability, but you forgot the 10% range damage aura on the engineer ~
I feel like you underrated Waystalker, but then I also don't play Cataclysm difficulty, so maybe it has to do with that. Her special is just so versatile, in any difficult situation it solves your problems. The homing effect can get specials off allies you otherwise couldn't reach, it can just straight up kill 5 plague monks running up to your team, so many applications. It's not even really bad against hordes either, since the arrows penetrate for some reason. Press F, and chances are whatever was bothering you isn't alive anymore

As someone who plays a lot of Kruber, I wish Grail Knight wasn't such a boring career to play as. His ult is a one click kill everything button on a ridiculously short cooldown with no nuance or skill, and his passive team buffs are not interesting or interactive. They just require you to do things that you would do anyway.

Yeah, I freakin' agree with Pyromancer placement. She literally has only her career skill that saves her, and that's hardly enough. The choice is between half of pyromancer with more and also an overcharge assistance, having a somewhat good homing attack every 2 minutes with a low quality damage boost and nothing else, or having the ability to straight up avoid dying to your own overcharge. There's no contest there! Plus, I have managed to skip small parts of missions with Battle Wizard fire walk.

I use Unchained with the Bolt staff and I can pretty much carry or babysit any team through a legend run. The stun and stagger she produces is unmatched. I'm good with monsters but I do rely on bombs or areas I can block and dodge around to keep the agro.
6:36 zealot could be improved by giving him a charge ability that increases his attack speed or something by dealing damage to himself.

A nice one, though I disagree with some of the choices. It seems to me that by trying to take into account dmg, tankiness and support you kinda made it a tier list of versatility. A good thing, sure, but in a good team almost any character can do nicely in a right niche. Except that there will sometimes be characters that do the same thing AND something else, like with the Huntsman and Shade. However, the poor Engi plummets down because he's just too specialised for his own good. He needs protection, indeed.. however if he gets it, he melts pretty much anything that comes into range. As a Handmaiden main (somewhat transitioning to the Foot Knight, but they are pretty much the same, it's just that Kerillian is more popular so it's easier to get a team as Kruber) I always prioritise defence of a decent Engineer and I know the results they can achieve.
Pyro is fun to play!.. but... yeah...
Fun fact - my friend started as a Zealot main for that easy big damage gameplay, but now his hero of choice is WHC. Damage output only got greater. Btw you've forgot to mention that he has free blocks on light attacks which boosts his survivability even more.
I'm currently trying the Ranger Veteran as a melee class with throwing axes, making use of his 25% power boost when out of ammo. It's.. definitely fun to try.
Foot knight and engi with comrade in arms is great, to hell with the rest of the team!
Do you know any tier list which separates the different roles? Like separate tier lists for boss killers, front liners, ranged elite and special killers
I would say that Unchained is A tier.
You have great crowd/hord controle while using flamethrower with special ability and at the same time you can use teamsupport runes. Only bad thing about Unchained is that if you dont have your special ability charched you will explode and give like 20-30 demage to teammates. But thats just my opinion and i have only finished everything on Legend difficulty and i dont know how difficult the Cataclysm is)
I started playing the game few days ago as Waystalker. And for now.. played arround 20 hours, no other hero could beat me at the end score list. Waystalker is just OP for many things.. Only bad vs bosses.. And just to add, friends who I play with are all maxed out and much longer in game than me. So I am shocked as they are lol
