Having OU in the SEC is great. The football talk this week shows the Sooners to be a knowledgeable and classy fanbase. Other than this week I will be rooting for them.
Sooner fans hv high regards for Vol fans too, based off past interactions, going back even before Huep. The Hueple dynamic gives us an even softer spot for Tennessee. Aside from this week, you Vols are OK! 😂 you see what I did there.
What are U smoking? Blow U a classy fan base? OMG! You are truly delusional! They have a 2 word fight song, a mobile home for a mascot and bloated view of their quality.
Oklahoma fans will absolutely NOT Boooo Josh Heupel. We love Josh Heupel down here in Oklahoma. He's a legend that helped turn this program around. Oklahoma sucked in the 90s. Josh Heupel was a huge part of us becoming QBU. He was not only the quarterback that came in here and crushed all of OUr passing records and finished 2nd for the Heisman. But he also won us a Natty. Not to mention he was the quarterback coach that coached Heisman winner Sam Bradford. And I can promise that there wasn't any Oklahoma fans that wanted Josh fired. Most of us were surprised when we heard the news. Josh was dealing with a ton of injuries that year and we still averaged 34 points. However I will say the nail in the coffin... We played Brent venables in a bowl game that year... Brent Venables took his lunch money. He has a much better team this year and he doesn't have all those injuries. He has also grown as a coach since then
Great post. Vols were all class in 2015-6 when we played...easy to root for Rocky Top. I live in GA so was able to make it up to Knoxville...Great time. My young son even named our retriever Rocky as we got him right outside Knoxville. He'll be barking Boomer Sooner this Sat and rooting for the Pony Express to make plenty of laps though..ha
As a volunteer fan I am looking forward playing in Norman “the palace on the prairie “ absolute great environment, I feel this is going to be a close game , could go either way , but I think my vols win 24-17
@GoodTV285 The O was lights out in a lot of games see the stomping they gave Texas that year 63-14 wasn't all O - had a pic 6 or 2. But by the B12 title against KSU and Natty against FSU Josh had a bad elbow and could barely throw it more than 25 yards. Despite that he still gutted it out eventhough his elbow swelled up like a balloon and made plenty of smart play and the D and Special teams were good enough to carry the team. Essentially first half of season the O carried the team and 2nd half D came together and shut down about everyone
What I love about this game is I have yet to see any animosity toward or from one fan base or the other. There is pretty much just a mutual respect with a "may the best team win" mentality. Hoping the Big Orange comes out victorious! I just want to see all players come out un-hurt and ready to move forward!
Well said especially no injuries. Obviously I'm rooting for Sooner Magic this weekend and any time we hookup but will root for Vols in all your other games. Happy to be in the SEC where our values and tradition fit right in

Yeah idk how you haven’t seen EVERY comment section saying Tennessee is going to “blow out Oklahoma” and “going to give them the welcome to sec they deserve” I can promise you that OU WILL NOT get blown out at home. This is the first time since the 70s that OU has been a 7 pt underdog at home. Since the 70s.
As heated as the OU/UT rivalry is the fans, with a few exceptions, let the players do the battle on the field. I imagine OU will welcome Tennessee but try to kick their butt all over the field. I expect the Vols to return the hospitality. That makes good football. I'm looking forward to the game.
I’m excited to have the Vols come to town! Will they be bringing their band? My little girl loves college fight songs and wants to hear Rocky Top! Here is to an injury free good game! And Josh is a legend here.

If you dont know, then google who replaced Heupel as OC at OU and what he did with the offense. Stoops did what was best for OU football. Heupel is still considered part of the family in OU nation and are proud of him and what hes accomplished.

I love how the talking points here are "he was fired for his awful offense" when his offenses looked nothing like this at OU. Even then, lets not forget that Tennessee didn't welcome Heupel in with open arms. His hire was not appreciated until after he had success.
This is why we joined the SEC...great matchup..super excitment. I hope it'll be a good, competitive game to match the hype. Our offense is terrible so I expect to get curb stomped by Huepel and Vols, but the challenge is what we're here for. Venables needs to get it right or get gone. Facing the SEC will make that happen Sooner than later.
J dropping truth on how to beat the UT offense. The only way to do it is to beat every match up while stopping the run. It is actually a fairly honest offense from that regard. Better team would win. That requires better recruits at each position AND doesn't take into account Nico as a dual threat so could still pose a threat even for Georgia / Bama / Ohio now
I am glad we are playing Tennessee and Josh as our first SEC opponent. It will be fantastic. Other than that, I don't understand the SEC's rationale of giving us a much more difficult schedule than Texas. I can see the favortism of Texas versus OU in about every SEC. I've heard it was based on prior performance in the Big 12, which OU dominated. So we get the much tougher schedule because we beat the crap out of the shorthorns in the Big 12. It's all about $ and SEC wants Texas to do well because of $. Giving us this schedule had a motive for sure.
I think Heupel shows off somebof his more complex offensive schemes. We have watched a vanilla version of our offense all year. Same thing on defense. GBO
Oklahoma fan here, of course I'm pulling for Oklahoma but the Sooners offense is a concern for me but who really knows what will happen. Tennessee is a great team 😁
I've heard a rumor from a confidential source, that OU will fire Brent Vennables at the end of the season. Their main target is Josh Heupel. Negotiations are ongoing and are taking place throughout the season. Something official may come out after the OU/Texas game.
As a Sooner fan, has Tennessee's secondary been tested yet this year? OU is set to get Nic Anderson back ( 10 TDs last year and is 6'4" NFL type receiver) I got OU's offense scoring 2 TDs and OUs defense scoring 2 TDs also 😆 I hated OU firing Josh so I won't be upset no matter who wins this one. Will be happy for him if he pulls it off. But this game is starting to remind me a lil bit of the UFC O'Malley fight on Saturday w the experts were only talking about O'Malley then his opponent kicks his ass.
That's exactly what it reminds me of too. We all love Josh Heupel and we all know he's a great coach. But I think everyone is overlooking Oklahoma. People don't realize how many injuries we had on offense. We are getting a couple of those offensive lineman back. Plus Anderson coming back is huge! Also people are forgetting what happened to Josh Heupel when he played against BV. We got smoked 40 to 6 and that is what costed Josh Heupel his job. We really need BVs defense to cause some turnovers. And we need Jackson Arnold to play his best game ever
I feel like OU can get open. My question is can they give Arnold enough time to let plays develop. NC State had five returning starters on their OLine all 5th year players and were ranked top 25 in Olines last year. One of the reasons for their hype. TN had 13 tackles for loss and the starters on the line only played around 10 snaps a piece .
So what your saying is OU is going to score 14 points on offense, 14 on defense for a total of 28 points on TN. A team that has held Iowa, NC State, and two lesser teams to zero touchdowns.... Even though you could only score 16 points on Houston but your gonna do it on the statistically #2 rated defense in the NCAA all because your getting one player back. Got it.
We will STAND and CHEER for JOSH 200%. We still want to beat Tennessee the team, and fans won't cheer the TEAM on the field at all. I expect Josh to kill us, for multiple reasons. Him and Venables were the 2 massive losses due to the Stoops Nepotism Train. We got one back, but the other is going to make us pay heavily Saturday. We have way too many issues on offense top to bottom.
Hopefully the offensive line protects the backs till they can get the play off. Hopefully Josh Heiple doesn’t turn into Darrell Royal, who is an all American for Oklahoma and became the head coach for Texas.
My dream schedule includes an OU vs NEB on Thanksgiving weekend. out of conference is fine. But Tenn, I will settle for you guys as a close 2nd. Will you be our new Nebraska? Mizzou can be the team that thinks their our rival. And fakeUT as the hate rival.
I think Oklahoma is overlooking Nico’s ability to run. If they succeed at stopping the run, then we’ll see Nico step up and take over this game. I don’t think we’ve seen Nico even close to his best yet.
heupel is adored in norman any bad blood there comes not from the fans that's a fact we love Josh and you'll see come Saturday at the game when he makes an appearance into the stadium he will get a humble very very humble welcoming home.
Something that isn't discussed much is how well Venables knows Heupels offense and His tendencies. I do think Tennessee will cover but it won't be a blowout.
Hey here’s a question to all. If you’re old enough, you remember the 1970’s OU vs Nebraska. If was hard-hitting, top ranked teams, gunning for the Big 8, and national championship, yet, it wasn’t a hatred game but respectful game. Now, here we are 2024. Can the Vols vs OU be that type of game?
Are you bama or florida? If not, then yes, it can be respectful. Because what we really care about beating bama and stomping a hole through florida. That is a winning season in orange country.
I personally think Nico will have all he can ask vs that OU Defense for a few drives. The real issue and problem is OU’s offense. They’ve struggled to sustain drives vs Houston and Tulane and this unfortunately is too much and OU will succumb
I think you are going to find that OUs D is better than you think but our O-Line is exactly what you would expect. If we can get some folks back healthy to play this week it may change things but for now I predict a 27-17 Tenn win. Boomer!!!
you are lucky he as fired, cuz he did not run the same offense. He has changed a lot since he was fired probably the best thing that ever happened today
OU's biggest problem in defense is speed, they got muscle in spades and a couple super fast secondary guys but they almost seem to big and sacrificed speed for size.
That will be z big problem against Tennessee as the Vola are lightning fast on offense. both in pace and the athletes at the skill positions. The team is built on speed and power.
I love how the Vol fans have basically chalked up the win already. Major mistake underestimating OU. That's when they play their best. Don't think the Vols game realize OU will be getting back starting olineman and have been playing with 4th string guys. TN fans don't realize what they're about to get into
Oklahoma looked much improved over their first two outings. Their offense appeared to find some some spark, and the funny thing is that the Sooners are quite similar to the Vols, with a lot of RPO QB reads, and a QB that runs well. However, the Vol defense and the fact the Vols have more good RBs and WRs will be decisive. Vols by 34-16. Night game is an unknown factor for Nico.
UT is a triple threat offensively and strong on the defense. OU is a possible single threat offensively and mediocre on defense. UT by two and half touchdowns!
Listen Jay knows what he is talking about when it comes to our Tennessee Volunteers. He is telling you the truth when it comes to our defense. Our offense is not that bad either. Ore offense is scoring 63 a game and our defense is only giving up like 6 points so it should be a fun game and I expect our Vols to win by double digits! Just My opinion but what does that really mean, not much. Go Big Orange 🍊
Shaky teams like Oklahoma are the most dangerous teams to play, mainly cause you never know when it's going to start clicking right, ps not an ou fan, just an observation
This guy is clearly still in koolaid mode. Tennessee has a great chance to win but they gonna get a fight. “You can’t stop our run game and Nico”. Thems fightin words
ou has a better shot at beating the Vols than beating Texas but that’s not saying much because Ou is gonna certainly lose to the Vols only question is by how much
Heupel hasn't forgotten what happened to him in Norman. But he isn't wearing things on his sleeve. He is there to play and win a football game. Bottom line.
Why isn't nobody talking about Tennessee's defense?? They're a complete team IMO. They have a solid defense. 4 games in a row they haven't allowed a touchdown.
The best analogy is Tennessee hasn't let it's horses stretch their legs and run yet. They'll let em breath this Saturday. There's still a possibility the Vols could blow this one open if things worked just right.
Having 5 Stars doesn't guarantee you anything, it's what you do with them that matters! Sports talk J is overlooking the Oklahoma D and the fact that there's a ton oblación hasn't shown on birth sides of the ball. I'll take Oklahoma by 4....
Georgia’s Dline the last few years have been 3 deep with 5 stars and almost every player they have had in the secondary has ran 4.2-4.4 when they went to the combine. Plus they kept TN off the field. We could not stop Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey. I have no doubt Oklahoma’s D is good but if the Offense keeps giving it right back to TN they will be cooked by the 3rd quarter.
@rhrhr2025 Ain't you just an expert prognosticator. There are high school teams that could beat the teams UT have played. You just rest your sweet little head on your pillow and have dreams of sugar plums dancing through your head bro. UT might win, but I'm guessing your gonna have a bad week next week.
Go Vols Go! Carry the fight to the Sooners and keep it there for 60 minutes. I hope we score often and early. Let’s see those seats emptied by the 3rd quarter.
Sports Talk J is the best covering our Vols!
Strongly agree
Bluechip breakdown is very good also

Their offense appeared to find some some spark, and the funny thing is that the Sooners are quite similar to the Vols, with a lot of RPO QB reads, and a QB that runs well. However, the Vol defense and the fact the Vols have more good RBs and WRs will be decisive. Vols by 34-16. Night game is an unknown factor for Nico.
Sports Talk J in the building 🏈

UT is a triple threat offensively and strong on the defense. OU is a possible single threat offensively and mediocre on defense. UT by two and half touchdowns!
that noggin😭
Only bluechip ratio higher than Oklahoma! Bama, Georgia, ohio state, Texas!
I would go over on the line. Oklahoma will score and I know our Vols will put up at least 20 so go Big Orange 🍊
Vols by 60.😂
First thing ou always does is get after the Qb, even their history same thing.
Hopefully we C can run the C ball good enough to make 3rd down conversions to take a little pressure of NICO
Shaky teams like Oklahoma are the most dangerous teams to play, mainly cause you never know when it's going to start clicking right, ps not an ou fan, just an observation
OUs depleted OL & WR corps will be their undoing. Shame so many hurt
Oklahoma has a good D-line not great, its secondary is probably the bigger strength.
Lol, false. I'm a Texas fan who has watched their film.
They are 58th in passing allowed. Their front 7 are legit.
Their best d lineman is a tenn transfer deep on the depth chart
The spread looks soooooo easy to absolutely everyone including me. I hear 82% of money coming in on Tennessee. I think this game is a trap.
Too damn early putting heistman talk out there IMO
GBO🏈
Tennessee is going to kick your ass
This guy is clearly still in koolaid mode. Tennessee has a great chance to win but they gonna get a fight. “You can’t stop our run game and Nico”. Thems fightin words
We probably gonna lose this game to the Vols. All that matters is we beat Texas!!!
ou has a better shot at beating the Vols than beating Texas but that’s not saying much because Ou is gonna certainly lose to the Vols only question is by how much
or 68
If Heupel gets to 30, he's only lost once I think.
45-10 Tennessee
Heupel hasn't forgotten what happened to him in Norman. But he isn't wearing things on his sleeve. He is there to play and win a football game. Bottom line.
Must be low scoring for oklahoma to even have a chance with that terrible offense
JJ was good but lately he can't get past the TV cut ins and the sc sign stealing stuff from 2 years go and how bad Florida is ,he kind of lost his way
fiddy five
Why isn't nobody talking about Tennessee's defense?? They're a complete team IMO. They have a solid defense. 4 games in a row they haven't allowed a touchdown.
What cracks me up is OU thinks their defense is like 2022 Georgia or sum lol
OU has had many defenses better than 2022 Georgia.
Lol and TENN thinks they’re 2019 LSU or sum 🤷🏾♂️
@@airjordansgodson5210 you're gonna get skull drug
@@doctorvol3599 cool dude.
Said the same ish in 2015.
Win lose or draw happy to be here! #sec
Go vols 35 52
Tbi and j
J, u old enough to remember the ole miss massacre??? Nope…😮, maybe u got a lesson yet to learn - that’s life.
Drink that kool-aid
The best analogy is Tennessee hasn't let it's horses stretch their legs and run yet. They'll let em breath this Saturday.
There's still a possibility the Vols could blow this one open if things worked just right.
Tn defense puts the nation on alert this week
Josh Heupel’s Oklahoma humbling turned out great for Tennessee ...... !
I don't think the game will even be close. Tennessee 38 Oklahoma 10
It will be closer than what you think!! I love my vols but it's going to be a dog fight
I have a lot of respect for the Vols and I know OUs offense hasn’t been the best but don’t underestimate OUs defense.
@ronhau1542 vol fans need to stop thinking it's going to be a blowout lol it's not!!! If it is it will surprise me.
@@Goatroppin well Tennessee dominated Oklahoma so there's that!!! Is Oklahoma a high school team too
We’ve already seen a Heupel offense vs a Venables defense. Clemson 40 OU 6
Go Vols Go! Carry the fight to the Sooners and keep it there for 60 minutes. I hope we score often and early. Let’s see those seats emptied by the 3rd quarter.
OU 20 - 37 UT. GBO🍊
51-13 Vols. No defensive touchdowns allowed.
38-21 tennessee
