Okay, here’s my 2 cents. Yes, the concept of a “lazy” meal is relative. If someone asks you for an easy meal and you provide that recipe, it’s hella rude to come back to you and complain it wasn’t simple enough. Sometimes the lazy is that person, who has the entire web at their fingertips, yet can’t be bothered to search out a recipe. No disrespecting the Chef is allowed. Hailee has a life and doesn’t have to film, edit, voice over and post the recipe to her website for our benefit. Show a little appreciation.
Couldn't agree more. I love Hailee's content. Even if it's something I wouldn't cook because I might not have the time or ingredients, her videos are still extremely nice to watch, very enjoyable, even relaxing, and I learn a lot from them. The entitlement from some is just unbelievable!
@@andreamatheson5760 Thank you, Andrea. Sometimes I’m almost dumbfounded with how people think the Content Creator is just waiting for their request. Hailee isn’t the only one, and often people apparently can’t be bothered with a please or thank you. Hailee’s content is all you mentioned and more. The entitlement of some folks is just frustrating. Anyway, have a good week.
Checked out your channels content...IMPRESSED , my kind of cooking . Simple enough to do and LOTS of flavour . You have a new subscriber . Ontario Canada .
Never apologize Hailee for your talent. I’ve been following for a while now and you’re just too amazing. Im glad you’re doing the voiceovers too. Your one of my favorite chefs rightnow. Just waiting for your cookbook. 💜
Love your content! Have never cooked with anchovies(although used Worcestershire sauce which has anchovies in it). Been thinking I would try some. Can you post more recipes that use anchovies? Also, love the quick pasta tip!
This looks great 👍 I do something very similar with kale and add chilli flakes. I try to look at it more that these sorts of meals are “accessible meals” for days when you “just can’t” with the idea of cooking and want to use up stuff from fridge instead of grocery shopping, or for those who lack confidence in their own cooking skills (or lack a huge range of cooking utensils) as opposed to being “lazy”. Simple and uncomplicated in the way some if the best pasta dishes are. Your content is great and is helping lots of people branch out and experiment with their cooking which is a wonderful thing.
That's a beautiful meal :) Also, I just want to support you in what you do: you are very kind and generous in sharing your love for food and cooking, and this is *your* channel and the whole point of it is for you to share *your* vision on all these things :) Of course it cannot be in line with everyone else's opinions on the internet. And that is the great thing about the internet - there are a lot of people sharing their take on different things and one may choose what to attend to. So, what you do is marvellous and thanks a lot for your generosity in sharing your vision!
You do you! Love your videos. UA-cam took you out of my feed for so long and couldnt remember your name! Luckily you popped up today! I subscribed immediately!!
God this is perfect! You are becoming my fave chef!🙌everything you make isn’t that inaccessible which is rare with influencer chefs sometimes. All your recipes are SO unique too! I feel like I can find so many chefs making their own versions of the same recipes but your combos and flavors are so much different and hit all the flavors you want! Perfect umami in your own way! 😂If I could I’d pay ANY amount of $ to have you cook any meal you want. Keep doing you hailee!❤🎉
Looks amazing! I've never tried it with anchovies. I've made the same with sundried tomatoes and capers. It's also good melting in a little goat cheese. But here I am making it over-complicated again lol.
Cooking pasta in low amounts of water is called "risottare" in italian, which translates to "to risotto". You basically treat pasta the same way you treat the rice in risottos Also a tip: if you're planning on adding butter and grated cheeseto pasta add it in the end (once it cooled off a bit) and stirr vigorously. Fats emulsify much better a low temperatures so it gets creamier
@smnstv3373,I made it and it was delicious. I was concerned about the size of the penne compared with my shallow pan (not the police, pasta or otherwise). Next time, more anchovies.
Hello Hailee! Although I appreciate a quick (lazy meal) you are a chef, I follow you because you inspire me and teach me things I would probably never be expose to otherwise. No apologies needed! Thank you for your videos!
Firstly you didn't owe nobody nothin, as you were sharing a free recipe in the first place. Second, I do greatly appreciate that you gave this recipe even with that being the case, as I have a very limited amount space where I live and this is only a couple of items and one pot. It's a good day when I can find something that looks really good and also works for my situation. 🥰
The Kenji pasta method is the bomb. Super quick, one pot, and you get that starchy goodness so the sauce hugs those noodles tight! I like the ingredients combo you’ve done. Will def be trying it!
Highly recommend a saucier if you love this style, the higher, curved sides make it very easy to toss in add-ins, and stir the noodles/sauce. Very easy to clean because of the lack of straight edges. You also don't even need to wait for the water to boil, I just toss in my pasta first and then barely cover them, taste until almost al dente.
Hey just another lazy tip when you put in your spinach put more in then just put the lid back on let them wilt then it will do alot if the stirring for you
This is what we use to make when we didn’t have much food we called it a struggle meal. We didn’t have fresh Parmesan, it was the bottled dry kind. (Which was still tasty) but I’ll take this any day omg it look so simple and good
Would personally recommend getting the ones stored in oil, oil preserves flavor fantastically for tinned fish and can also be used separately(I toast my bread with it!) while the water just kinda dilutes and sucks out flavor.
People complaining are people who believe that every piece of content must be curated to their own specific existence. I swear I’ve watched a classic lasagna recipe and someone commented: But I am lactose intolerant.
My favorite lazy meal is just throw some butter in a pot, toast some rice a tad, add in some cider and water, then when the rice is cooked, mix in whatever seasonings, some cheese, and some frozen peas/veggies. Honestly super filling. This was a pretty good little recipe. Good weeknight meal idea!
Lazy? No. This is how I've cooked past for years. Why? It uses a minimal amount of water that boils quickly which saves fuel. It also concentrates the starch which helps combine with the sauce to add flavor and savoriness. Great vid.

I did not know anchovies melt. Very interesting!
If you dice them up and add to a sauce they will just melt in. Very common ingredient in certain parts of Italy.
Half achovie in the pizza sauce. Try it the next pizza batch.
That looks so yummy! Awsome job
