    Simple and clean. I make my own breadcrumbs by taking old high quality bread, cut up in chunks, dried. On the day of using the breadcrumbs, run in the food processor with a clove of garlic, some olive oil and a few sprigs of rosemary.

    I used this for years, found it again, I refined to shallots and anchovy paste, lots regular garlic, Calabrian chilies, angel hair pasta, grate aged asiago cheese, 35-45 min all done, toss in halved cherry or grape tomatoes when I season with fresh basil. Everyone loves it and don't know there's anchovy in it lol. They don't know Worcestershire sauce is anchovy base🤣, have substituted ingredients when didn't have, as long as don't see an anchovy it's a winner, very versatile recipe, glad found again. Tyvm

    I make my recipe a similar way, but I also add black pepper, onions, olives, and capers. Sometimes I also add a little tomato paste to the sauce if I want a slightly different flavor

    Grew up with that, if you for some reason hate anchovies just switch it out for crispy bacon lardons

    Simple and delicious, takes less than.10 minutes .I use capers too.Also, if you have salt in the pasta water, no need to salt the sauce at all, and the salt will be much more even.

    I make breadcrumbs by putting butter and garlic croutons in a Ziploc bag and beating them with a rolling pin.

    If I make a larger batch of breadcrumbs can I store them in a airtight container in the cupboard or do they have to go in the fridge. How long do they last.

    I saw the name of this restaurant and immediately said, "They are going out of business SOON!" I checked, and sure enough they did two years after this video was made. I love anchovies (salted, soaked, and fileted by hand; fresh, packed in olive oil, etc) and I love olives. If you're watching this video then most likely YOU love anchovies and you love olives, too. But most Americans HATE them both! It's like starting a clothing store for babies and calling it "Screaming and Pooping."

    I want to try this dish. I would like half of the anchovies fried and the other half fused in. I would of coat it with flour before frying it. I'm so hungry just waiting for the market to open. Watching UA-cam videos about chefs back to back

    If you omit the mint it will be a traditional way of preparing this dish.

    Messed it up with the mint...... I’d try it without that

    • @RuudJH
      @RuudJH 5 років тому +3

      I don't like mint either, but a bit of lemon juice seems great.
      What messed it up for me was the bread crumbs. I don't see the point of adding more carbs to a pasta dish.
      If you can't add cheese, just don't add anything.

    Everyone always says that the anchovies will dissolve but they dont.

    • @stefanpaege2046
      @stefanpaege2046 3 роки тому +1

      Chop them first & let them simmer in medium hot oil & stir... then they will dissolve.

    Why doesn't he want to use parmesan with seafood?

    • @insertclevername4123
      @insertclevername4123 3 роки тому +1

      I'm guessing he's going with the old "don't mix cheese and fish" thing that a lot of people stick to. I've never found the combination especially offensive (nor has anyone who's ordered a tuna melt), but I've noted that a lot of people get oddly obsessive about it--this chef seems pretty cool and it's just something he doesn't do, but some people act like you just took a leak on their Italian grandmother's grave if you serve them together.
