@@Name-zd2nb Putting the swath of balancing issues aside, Destiny 2 PVP is actually pretty well designed for a game that lets you use all of your loot and items across PVE and PVP, so if they can manage to capture the best aspects of the D2 Crucible while also sidestepping the issue that balancing all of the loot, abilities and builds in the game to work in PVE _and_ PVP creates, then I think it might actually be more fun. The gunplay, visual design, UI design, and pace of gameplay all look pretty solid from everything I've seen, so I might actually pick this up when it launches.

Literally the first I ever heard about this was seeing a UA-cam video talking about why it died

I actually met one of the developers here in the Seattle area and thats what actually made me search up the gameplay, he said most of the developers came from bungie so it makes sense why it looks like destiny.

Sony has several divisions with different developer teams in them. Sony currently has 21 divisions. Spiderman, Jax and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Horizon, God of War and Ghost of Tsushima for example were all made by different divisions. From what I could tell, this team hasnt made any other game for Sony before. Some of the devs came from Destiny, which is why some think it has a Destiny PvP look to it. Personally I think this game heavily reminds me of Valorant. I hope Sony has learned to check the product better though... I guess they just expected it to be good without really looking into it since they had good developers.

There is something thoroughly off-putting about 90% of those character designs. I can't even put my finger on it. But the dumpster bot might be the best one.
Maybe uncanny valley with the realistic facial animations, so the faceless bot avoids that? The designs also seem to lack a "hook" to me

Playing Concord is kinda nice, but being generic and expensive for an game that is an Destiny, Guardian Galaxy, and Overwatch clone. Its like buying an gimmick car like riding the Krabbymobile in SpongeBob. Its cool but buying it is an another thing.
How did this take 8 years and $200M!? For reference RDR2 spent just a little over 8 years in development and around $170-240M in development cost. Same timeframe, similar budgets (idk how much of concords is marketing), and you have one that’s a renowned masterpiece, and a flop that lost $200M and shutdown in 7 days.

Clever. But personally I think it has a very unique artistic design. Love the color cheme, retro futurism style mixed with original ideas. Some of the disign flop in my opinion whilst others look really cool. But I would never say this game is lacking in identity.

I was skeptical when the game was announced, and was not enthusiast at first, but after a few games and unlocking the "no respawns" game modes, the game really shines in those, the game is fun, I really enjoy the characters and the fact there are no ults makes the game more skill based than other hero shooters.
40$ is still overpriced, but I think it's either this, or an extremely aggressive shop/battlepass I also enjoy the fact everyone got all the characters from the beggining.
If this game released 2 or 3 years ago, it would have been a massive success (especially before OW2 release) but sadly people are tired of hero shooters, and this one may be the best experience I had on one of them in years, but it doesn't really have *something* that would make you really play it more than an other.
I hope the game will work out (good thing it's a PC + PS5 release)

Aside from the controversial character designs, the gameplay seems fun to me, especially bullet registration is smooth. However, I must agree with you, way too much hero shooter games and there is less interest in this type of game.
When every character feels OP in a competitive game, that's usually a sign of good design. Or it's matchmaking throwing you easy teams to beat xD This looks really fun

@@SkylerMaki yea not many. I'm an overwatch player myself but yern for something new.
Concord and Marvel Rivals are in production and the same as overwatch 1 we got Battleborn and Paladins.
But Battleborn servers deactivated janurary 2021, Paladins feels outdated, Apex is battle royal which I don't like and Valorant is slow, more like Counter strike which I don't like. I don't like third person so Marvel Rivals doesn't appeal to me either. Concord is really the only thing that looks appealing to me.
Oh also deadlock from valve which isn't even announced yet but that's in third person and looks more like a moba to me which i'm not interested in. I do love valve though (1k+ hours tf2 on steam) so i'm definitely going to try it out eventually

I think it looks great! Way more creative than other games and gives me halo and shadowrun vibes, 2 games I like, and a bit of retro charme, like the old arena shooters. Paying 40$ isn't much compared to other games, and I'd rather have that than another f2p with tons of microtransactions and everything looks lame except when you buy skins.

I played a little bit, the gameplay is good. It's overall fun, but the characters have that so polished it's kinda souless vibe.
Tried it on Console for the beta, its the same way I felt with overwatch years ago - Controls and such feel a bit too stiff to want to play it on console. This is a game that has probably its best results on PC. Even then, its not that appealing. Graphically it is nice, the universe it may protray is quite cool. But thats all I feel is okay with it after playing a decent amount. With it being as it is, I dont find any enjoyment in it. But, to each their own. Im sure there are some people that do enjoy it, and thats fine.
How does it feel jack? Selling out your community to a game that was pulled not even two weeks after release.

This honestly looks fun and the gun-play has the Destiny look to it which I like (ex bungie devs so makes sense). I just wish it wasnt $40 for a purely multiplayer experience. But maybe there is an argument to be made for not every game being a F2P live service. Im curious to see if this game sticks around considering Marvel Rivals is coming out soon.

The fact that someone actually pitched "What if we took Destiny multiplayer, and like, turned it into a hero shooter?!?" should tell you everything about the state of gaming.

Overwatch originally was really good but it was gutted and updated to the point where it's not recognizable anymore (In classic Blizzard fashion). Concord reminds me more of destiny tbh and even that wasn't very good after the first one. I applaud the devs for making it but the buck kinda ends there.

In 2016 it was by far the dominant type of shooter but for a while now pretty much every hero shooter has been DOA... Not as bad as Concord but remember... Paladins, rogue company, dirty bomb, battleborne, law breakers, my beloved gigantic 🥲, and shatterline

Can someone explain to me the hate for this? The game looks fine to me. I see a lot of people say that "we don't want more Overwatch like shooters"... but... Overwatch basically has no competition atm. There is Paladins, and maybe TF2. What else is there that is anything close to what Overwatch is?

There are a lot of videos on UA-cam covering Concord's failure, such as those from The Act Man and NerdSlayer. But, yes, there are already hero shooters in the gaming market like Overwatch, Apex Legends, and Valorant. Concord just had a hard time fitting in with what it had to offer. The game looks fine for you, but not for others like myself who plays hero shooters for a long time at this point.

The game looks pretty good visually. I’m not really a fan of hero shooters so I didn’t really care much for it. Biggest problem I had was the ttk but I’m sure it comes with the type of game. Won’t miss it but it had potential

They literally took Overwatch, ripped it off completely, made the visuals ugly and bland and the characters super woke. And put a 40$ pricetag for it. What a glorious idea honestly, so revolutionary.

personally I actually enjoy this game, but I can see why many don’t like it. It doesn’t do much to stand out from other hero shooters and it’s pretty bare bones tbh. I hope I’ll be proven wrong but I don’t see this game lasting more than a year unless it goes F2P.
