With Queen especially this seemed to be a very common occurrence, where they just had to play the music, and audience could just sing the rest of the concert haha xD
What makes this audience's participation even more amazing is that their national language is Portuguese, yet they sang in perfect English to Freddie.......and he thanked them in Portuguese.
@@42much1 I wouldn't say that. Most of them are able to speak, but they are too shy and don't like to commit even little mistakes. I know it, because I'm a languages teacher and that's what I realized since the first time I started teaching. The first thing I have to teach is not even the language, but being self-confident.
I’m 62, I was there that very day and whenever possible I go to see the gods and goddesses of the musical world. However, nothing, nothing and no one else has ever topped this particular concert and atmosphere that day. Not only Freddie, but Queen has raised the bar in every single aspect. And us, the crowd were in tears as never before. It was truly subliminal.
I went to that Queen concert at Rock in Rio in 1985! There was an audience of around 300,000 people. The show was on January 11th. At that part of the show, Freddie and Brian were really moved by the audience singing the whole song. It was transcendental... A vibe that I have never felt at any other concert I have been to.
Rock in Rio, Brazil, January 1985 The shows on 12th and 18th of January attracted the biggest crowd Queen ever played to, with an estimated 250,000 to 500,000 people in attendance each night🙂
Everything Freddie is so bittersweet for me. He was so loved, and I don't think he realized his impact on the entire world. Rest in peace Freddie. Gone much too soon.
One of the good things about being a middle aged man is that I can say these words: I. Was. There. The first Rock in Rio last 10 summer days. It was rainy, muddy as hell and we couldn't care less. Every night there were at least 250 K strong in that crowd. Those were magical nights and this video is Brazil's love letter to Freddie and Queen. ❤
Love seeing Freddie’s face in this emotional connection with the Rio audience. Over 250K in attendance considered the largest audience at that time!! And to think Queen took to the stage at 2am. 😴 The audience showing Brian love too!! ❤
There are so many amazing reactions from Brazilian crowds. Marina (& The Diamonds) at Lollapalooza was amazing. The national anthem in the Brazil vs Portugal match was also ICONIC.
The entire concert is awesome they did there. It’s A Hard Life Rock in Rio is great (1985). Best thing, honestly, is to watch the entire concert breaking it up in 5 or 6 parts. It’s wonderful. Those guys in Rio spoke no English but knew every word to every song. Over the 2 nights they performed to over 600,000 people. At that time it was a record
This is a very simple version of this song that Freddie asked Brian to arrange so it could be done live so the audiences could sing along. The studio version is way too complex for a live show but also very beautiful. Roger said that the crowd at each of these Rock in Rio shows was about 300,000 people. The people of Brazil speak mostly Portuguese yet the audience sings along with Freddie perfectly. To not go to a Queen show because Freddie Mercury has passed away is an insult to his music. A Queen show is not just a concert, it is a huge production, a once in a lifetime experience. Queen shows today are like the most elaborate of Broadway Productions of all that a Queen show was and can be. Freddie is very much a part of every Queen show, Adam does not try to imitate Freddie in any way and he does one hell of a show. He is able to sing all of Freddie's songs in the key in which they were written. I have seen Queen live when Freddie was alive and if I got the chance to see Queen again, with Adam, I would do all in my power to make it happen. In the end, it is all about the music and the show. The way Queen does their shows, it is an honor to Freddie, they never make any decisions without considering "What would Fred do?" Also, Queen is a business of four, Brian, Freddie, John and Roger and all Queen profits are still split that way so Freddie's portion goes to his charity to fight AIDS around the world and none of the remaining original members have any intention of ever changing that. Most bands change members throughout the years, Queen was together, the same original 4 members for 20 years which made them very unique. Thank you for your reaction.
Four genious! 1 fromtman but all members wrote epic songs! I admire freddie as the best stagepresent artist ever! But queen was a band with 4 genios songwriters!!
I have watched a lot of different live shows from Japan. The crowds were amazing on the performances I saw but Brazil is even better. This is my new favorite performance of Love of my Life ❤❤❤❤
Keep listening to Queen Concerts and you will be a happy camper. They’re all like this 💕.in every country. Your right, there’s no Queen without Freddie.
I totally agree there is no Queen without Freddie Mercury he is the GOAT and will not listen to Adam or anyone perform singing his songs.. my I'm in the states my husband saw Queen in the late 70's in Florida, sadly I never saw him.
I choose some brazilian songs with different vibes for you. Praieiro - Jammil -> Carnaval song with a lot of energy. The mv is a party in the beach, just like it happens that time of the year. É o amor - Zezé de Camargo & Luciano -> Very popular love song by an old sertanejo duo. Acho que pirei - Sandy & Júnior -> brother and sister who sing together since they were little. They were HUGE in the 90s and 2000s. In 2019 they did a tour with the old songs and some people got REALLY NUTS. Meu ébano - Alcione -> One of the greatest voices of Samba in Brazil.
Agree, bro. I saw them live in 1974 (warm up for Mott the Hoople, believe it or not) and in 1978 & 1980. I had the chance to see them in 2019 in Atlanta and I just couldn't bring myself to go. No diss to Adam Lambert who is a wonderful artist of his own, and it would have been nice to see Brian and Roger again, but... Queen without Freddie, and without John Deacon, would, for me, have felt sad. Great reaction!
Foi nesse show no Brasil onde o Queen retomou o caminho do sucesso depois de dias difíceis, segundo a banda foi o show mais importante da banda em todos os tempos!
Hi Thank you for your great Reaction especially your comment that there is no Queen without Freddie M. True! Freddie is irreplaceable. Nothing compares. Hope you can also react to SOMEBODY TO LOVE at Milton Keynes Bowl 1982 and You take my breath away at Hyde park. Thanks. Stay safe🙂
Freddie wrote this beautiful song to profess his love to Mary Austin (even when he came out of the closet, he was still love of his life). But the song became the audience's love letter to him
I was a teenager and went to see queen in são Paulo in 1981, their first tour here. Loved it. It was a time we put one hundred thousand people in a station like Morumbi in são Paulo.
Great reaction! A s a Brazilian, I'm biased tosay this, but Brazilian crowds, along with the Argentinians, are the best in the world! Oh, and I'd recommend (why not) some Sepultura reactions?! It's probably our biggest band (globally speaking) ever and right down your alley! For a more traditional brazilian music, I'd strongly recommend Cartola (Preciso me Encontrar), one of your dearest composer, Elis Regina (Como Nossos Pais), she's our vocal queen, our Janis Joplin, and if you want some hearwarming song Alceu Valença (Girasso/La belle de jour)
If you want to see a legendary Brazilian Punk Rock band in Rock in Rio with the crowd owning it all....just go for "CPM22 - Um Minuto Para o fim do Mundo". Rock in Rio.
In the Queen movie, he talks about the concert in Brazil and how it was a turning point in their career...they thought no one would sing the songs haha :) and after that everything changed. I suggest you to watch Imagine Dragons at Rock in Rio and this year here at the stadiums...very nice too :) (look here for Imagine Dragons Rock in Rio and Imagine Dragons 2023 Brazil São Paulo) ;)
this song is one reason why Brian May (guitarist for Queen) wrote the anthem We Will Rock. Fans had a habit of singing the songs back to them, so he wrote a song designed for them
South American/ latin crowd is great haha...Man this is incredible. What a beautifull song. Queen is a very special band to me and one of my fav bands from UK. Amazing ❤ And Freddie Mercury, what a stunning voice He had. A true artist. So much respect. Have a nice weekend and greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷🤗😊
i don't remember if you had already react to "Como nossos pais" sung by Elis Regina, but if u didn't I'll leave this as a recommendation nice reaction btw
Thanks for the fun reaction! How about a reaction to the man who helped Brian May get his guitar sound: the legendary blues rock guitarist Rory Gallagher? He was an amazing performer with both his guitar skills and his ability to connect with his audience. For a great example, check out "I Wonder Who?" from 1984 in Belfast. Another great video which captures his energy and his relationship with his audience is the 1979 Montreux version of "Shadow Play", part of the encore after a full 90 minutes of high intensity rock blues. His voice in the Shadow Play video is pretty rough, but his playing is flawless and you can see him virtually drawing energy from the audience. Please take a listen!
I saw Queen live in Denver on August 30, 1982 and while it was Queen and it was enjoyable it wasn’t their best effort by any means, especially after seeing what they are capable of producing in the Legendary Montreal and Wembley concerts. I suppose it’s hard to get up and give it your all in the middle of a long tour in Denver on a Monday night
Bro I suggest you react to Michael Jackson "Jam" live in Bucharest 1992, the crowd was literally DYING just with his presence. Watch it from the full concert video from Bucharest 1992 because the camera footage is different and it shows you how crazy people were going. Jam is the first song. Michael could stand there the entire time and the crowd would still faint lol.
You should react to Rush playing YYZ live in Rio, YYZ is an amazing instrumental track and the crowd sang to it all the way through, absolutely amazing.
The fact that soeone from your generation can appreciate such music nd performances is wonderful. Todays top tunes ia more about special effects and less about raw talent, (at least to my way of thinkig). Look up, (if you haven't yet), the crowd reaction to Freddie singing Radio. He dominated and commanded the stqage.
How did I not know this was a Queen song??? My favorite band is The Scorpions and I guess they did a cover of it in recent years. Was the first time I had ever heard the song, but this is awesome. WHAT A CROWD

God, Luke MUST react to Fairy Tale! He's gonna go mental 🤩🤩 That performance is legendary. In fact, the second top comment from this year says it should be deemed a cultural national treasure and I wholeheartedly agree XD
I've seen them twice in Madison Square Garden in '80 & '82. Check out "Teo Torriatte", from A Day at the Races" live in Japan. Better yet watch Queen and Paul Rodgers in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Tens of thousands of Ukrainians singing every song, from Queen, Free, Bad Company, note for note. Both are here on UA-cam.
I'm a bit particular when it comes to songs from my country kk I'm especially a fan of songs with great lyrics, which is very unfortunate because most clips don't have english subtitles 😅 Thankfully, this one has: I must suggest *Fábio Jr singing Pai (Father) Live* - ua-cam.com/video/mfF9H_3UM8U/v-deo.html (Lyrics are slightly off sometimes, but good enough to get the meaning). It's his favorite song, which he composed himself for his father. It gets me every time 😭 For me, one of the most beautiful Brazilian songs.

Most audiences pay to hear their favorite artist sing! We Brazilians pay tickets for our favorite artist to hear us sing their songs!
With Queen especially this seemed to be a very common occurrence, where they just had to play the music, and audience could just sing the rest of the concert haha xD
😂😂😂
You’re just like us Irish !
Brazil is the place the public sang an instrumental song! (Rush - YYZ)
Freddie, in his element, directing the largest choir in history…..
When the crowd chant Brian’s name like they’re at a football ⚽️ match. Priceless
What makes this audience's participation even more amazing is that their national language is Portuguese, yet they sang in perfect English to Freddie.......and he thanked them in Portuguese.
That’s is really mesmerizing because the majority of Brazilians can not speak a sentence in English, even nowadays.

We, Brazilian, are kinda intense you know 😁❤️
In the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody" Freddie called his muse and told her how incredible the crowd in Brasil was. And I was among them.
They don't speak English but they knew what every word they sang meant with QUEEN ❤
Can't imagine what was in Freddies head when he listen this army. Absolutely magnificent.

You have successfully arrived, as an artist, when the audience sings your song to you when you are onstage.

Freddie was an absolute legend, up there with the likes of Michael Jackson, will never be forgotten for their contribution to music.
even after 30+ years, queen and freddie still make me ear's gasm
I am a HUGE Queen fan, my children are too! I was tears listening to this. 💚💚💚
I agree nobody else can replace Freddie in Queen he’s a legend
If you watch Queen at Live Aid you'll be astonished at his ability to interact with the audience.

TIVE O PRIVILÉGIO DE ESTAR NESTE SHOW EM 1985. FOI ÉPICO. ❤
Brazil AKWAYS has the greatest concert crowds. The even sing to guitar solos.
I saw them in 1978 and this sing along was one of the highlights of the show. I've seen over 100 live shows and Queen remains #1.

Freddie Mercury GOAT
I'd recommend Titãs (one of the best groups from Brazil), Gal Costa and Elis Regina (divine voices), Djavan, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil (monsters!)

In 1981 I was 16 and went for my first music show to see Queen in São Paulo at Morumbi stadium. It was amazing a experience that i will never forget.
With Freddie 100 thousand to one million..he could control without a doubt...the best Showman..
Freddie wrote this beautiful song to profess his love to Mary Austin (even when he came out of the closet, he was still love of his life). But the song became the audience's love letter to him
This concert that queen did in Rio, 1985, that this song came from.

I was a teenager and went to see queen in são Paulo in 1981, their first tour here. Loved it. It was a time we put one hundred thousand people in a station like Morumbi in são Paulo.

It was performed in ROCK in RIO in Maracanã Stadium. I was a teenager back then, and fortunate enough to be in there.
I think one of the best brazilian crowd i've seen was Marron 5 - She will be loved (Rock in Rio 2011)
If you want to see a legendary Brazilian Punk Rock band in Rock in Rio with the crowd owning it all....just go for "CPM22 - Um Minuto Para o fim do Mundo". Rock in Rio.
Saw them in '76. Best performance I've ever seen, including seeing the Who WITH Kieth Moon.❤
Amazing! Queen played two days at Rock in Rio in 1985. Search for other day of show.

I was there, I was there....amazing 80's, amazing Rock in Rio, amazing Rio on that time...
this song is one reason why Brian May (guitarist for Queen) wrote the anthem We Will Rock. Fans had a habit of singing the songs back to them, so he wrote a song designed for them
I'm Brazilian and army (BTS) I love your videos
Wow 🎉 beautiful sweet Freddie ❤️
Pra mim essa apresentação é o epítome do que a música faz conosco.
I was there singing along, good old days.
In Freddie's last video to his fans his last words were "I still love you" 😢
This can be seen on lots of channels...no blurring...no patreon😂
Come tô Brazil one of those days.. we wait for you with open. arms❤❤❤❤❤ Freddy Mercury had a Song based on The Brazilian audience ❤❤❤😊😊😊
Seu Jorge, "Burguesinha", live!! Up the mood!!

South American/ latin crowd is great haha...Man this is incredible. What a beautifull song. Queen is a very special band to me and one of my fav bands from UK. Amazing ❤
And Freddie Mercury, what a stunning voice He had. A true artist. So much respect.
Have a nice weekend and greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷🤗😊
O público btasileiro é incrível.
Oh, wow, the presentation at the first Rock in Rio. Cool!
i don't remember if you had already react to "Como nossos pais" sung by Elis Regina, but if u didn't I'll leave this as a recommendation
nice reaction btw
There were 2.5 to 3 million people ❤
Thanks for the fun reaction! How about a reaction to the man who helped Brian May get his guitar sound: the legendary blues rock guitarist Rory Gallagher? Nem em Londres este show foi tão bom
I agree with you. Queen is not Queen without Freddie.
RUSH, they even sang YYZ, which is instrumental by the way.
It was more than half milion People singing thogether. I had friends there.
Yeah michael was really amazing
Ohh yeh i saw that🔥
You should react to Rush playing YYZ live in Rio, YYZ is an amazing instrumental track and the crowd sang to it all the way through, absolutely amazing.
tickets for these big shows are always very expensive here, so we make it worth it lmao
The fact that soeone from your generation can appreciate such music nd performances is wonderful. Please do "White Queen" Live at the Odeon Hammersmith 1975 😊
I'm a bit particular when it comes to songs from my country kk
I'm especially a fan of songs with great lyrics, which is very unfortunate because most clips don't have english subtitles 😅
Thankfully, this one has: I must suggest *Fábio Jr singing Pai (Father) Live* - ua-cam.com/video/mfF9H_3UM8U/v-deo.html (Lyrics are slightly off sometimes, but good enough to get the meaning). It's his favorite song, which he composed himself for his father. It gets me every time 😭 For me, one of the most beautiful Brazilian songs.
Please watch Fear of the Dark - Iron Maiden live in rock in rio, as a rock fan it always gives me goosebumps
