SHE WAS A REALLY ROCK STAR in Brasil! As a singer, she explored many rhythms and did some iconic rock covers. In this MTV unplugged they created a great version of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Beatles). You can also see a fun version of Smell like Teen Spirits (Nirvana) at Rock in Rio. Don't miss it!

@ everyone trashing brazilian music right now, could you be more elitist? I'm not a huge fan of brazilian funk, but saying it's trash is super prejudiced and elitist, it represents a huge part of our culture and our people, whether you like it or not.
Anyway, this whole concert is amazing, she covered The Beatles in this! Sgt Peppers lonely hearts club band! And Non, je ne regrette rien by Edith Piaf, very emotional. The other artists i recommended the other day, Jão, just played in Rock in Rio! I'm pretty sure there's a lot of cool footage online ♡

She was very successful in Brazil in the 90s and early 2000s, unfortunately she lost the fight to drugs. It's worth reacting to "O Segundo Sol" from that same acoustic as well.
You captured Cassia Eller well, I liked the description of the "smoky" atmosphere, the atmosphere that the voice and the instruments create, a delight.
I was 9 years old when Cássia died, it was the first time I cried for someone outside my family.

This album by the nostalgic Cássia Eller is wonderful. All the musicians who accompany her in the band are highly regarded and famous. The drummer's name is João, and he's Djavan's son (if you don't know Djavan, you don't know one of Brazil's best singers). From this album, I recommend “Quando a maré encher”, which features the famous band Nação Zumbi (a famous drum and percussion band).
