Man , I gotta say , there is NOWHERE ELSE you can find a series like this - anywhere!
This series has to be the absolute best resource available . I built my first build following your series and haven't looked back. I knew how to solder , but I knew nothing about amps. I'm on my 5th build in 7 months. An addiction.
If you are like me and want to get into building, you have found the right place !
This kit is the best deal you can possibly find. This channel is the only place I would recommend to get started !!
I never wanted a 5e3 . I chose it based on this incredible series. But damn , it is one glorious amplifier. And there are so many great mods..
Thanks, bro. you got me started on a very fulfilling hobby.

Great video, honest and immensely helpful for anyone (like me) that bought the same kit. Saved me time and errors. Thank you for posting!

Man I've been looking for a good video on this. I don't have the same kit by manufacturer but I couldn't ask for a more detailed explanation. I've never seen anybody put as much effort into a DIY video. Thank you man! I know this was 7 months ago but please don't take this down. I bought the small parts kit and the chassis. I have to get enough money up to get the rest of it.

Glad to hear it’s helping you out!! I enjoy teaching. Going to put one out on schematics soon so that you’ll be able to buy 65$ old tube organ amps and create a kick add amp for even cheaper! Once you know the schematic basics, you can turn any tube PA or Organ from the 50s and 60s into a tweed or Marshall

5:42 Incorrect- You would want to use 125v in the US. Back in the old days voltage was lower and 110 was about the norm. Nowadays your wall sockets are usually around 120-125v. Using the 110v winding probably isnt going to hurt anything but your tubes are going to run at a higher filament voltage which will shorten their life as well as the transformers life.

This made to start a kit building from scratch.
    Perfect!!!!

Good job! I drew out everything just like you did in order to follow along when I solder.

Thanks very much! Glad it helped. There are two other vids that I put up for the chassis and board. They go step by step in case you want to use them. Have a good one!

The power at your house in the USA is 110v? Mine is like 124v, I would have thought the better option was 125v.

Did you put a variac across the primaries and double check all of the leads on your secondaries to be sure you had the right combinations? You can test at 10-20 % of full voltage.
If you don't have a variac, checking continuity between leads is the next best thing. It saves massive headaches later if you've made a mistake.
    Ask me how I know.

Where did you order the power transformer from BTW great video

Thanks! This one came with the kit actually. The kit came from super-market8 on eBay. It’s the most affordable kit around. If I were to order a stand alone replacement transformer it would be from BlueHawk Electronics. Their 290BX would be a good fit!

Subscribed! Do you know what gauge the 3 different colored cloth covered wires are? How do you like the addition of your NFB loop on your prior build? Does your NFB loop tame down the tone too much? Hopefully you will demonstrate the sound with and without the NFB loop! Looks like the kit is on sale right now ($289 shipped), and after researching many different kits, and pre-built options, I just ordered this very inexpensive one! Looking forward to building one myself! And can not wait for your episode #4 ! Thank you!

Excellent! I’m glad this was helpful. The gauge of the wire is likely 18 gauge. I like the NFB loop. Increases the headroom. And the master volume mod is a must! Even cutting the master volume a little bit makes the gain more pleasing to the ear. I’ll demonstrate both and also make those mods in future videos. Video 4 is on the way. Just need to edit it. Thanks for subscribing!
