- I went to Sydney, Australia recently and stopped at some really amazing breweries. There's more to Australian beer than Fosters... (btw it's not even made in Australia)

Something a little different today, hope you enjoy it! And let me know if have a favorite Australia beer or brewery
I went to Sydney a few years back and really like Wayward Brewing Co but the other ones you went to sounded pretty great too.
Wildflower brewing and blending! They do some amazing wild ales
Range Brewing from Brisbane have been killing it with their hazies for the past few years, Bracket Brewing in Sydney and Fox Friday in Tasmania are really making waves with their IPA's at the moment too. As has been previously mentioned, Wildflower are making some absolutely phenomenal mixed ferm/wild ales. Deeds Brewing in Melbourne are great with anything high-abv, but their Pastry/Barrel aged stouts really stand out. Hawkers from Melbourne are again really great with their Double/Triple IPA's and high ABV barrel aged stouts recently
One drop is by far my favourite brewery! So many good breweries in the inner west you’ll have to try next trip!
So pleased you made it out to the Lord Nelson. That Outback parking lot ending!!
Always impressed by how polished your production is.
Best ending ever! 🤣 It looked like an awesome trip. 🍻
You should've headed up to Katoomba and Mtn Culture, not only do they make the best hazies in Australia but the pretty unique train trip up the Blue Mountains is itself worth it. They also have a production brewery and taproom at Emu Plains which is only an 1 hour west at the base of the mountains that is 5 minutes from my place. A great brewery and they rarely if ever make a beer thats just average
Thank god you got to try some Mountain Culture, One Drop, and Curly Lewis.. Had a shocking sense of dread the entire video that you'd leave thinking James Squire, Lord Nelson etc are the best Sydney/Australia has to offer. They're very much the 'big boys'.. owned by multinationals, available everywhere but haven't experimented in 10-15 years. Hope you had an unreal time down here though, Aus really has some bloody good beer being made right now (I think we're finally catching up to you guys in the States)
dude, that was awesome. Congrats on an amazing trip! That final moment of the video was priceless.
Been looking forward to watching this and finally got a chance to while I catch up on videos from the last few weeks. Looks like an amazing trip, and amazing camera work as always!!
Thanks man! It was a fun trip and fun to edit!
Definitely be checking these out cheers
Loved the ending 😂 Glad you had a good time over here!
Well done, enjoyed the video!
A fantastic trip to my home town there, not that I've been back for years.
Many memories (or not so many) in the Lord Nelson.
Nice to see how the beer scene has come along.
That last scene, brilliant....
Haha thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
Absolutely love Curly Lewis! Totally agree, best brewery vibes
‘Knock the froth off a cold one!’
👍🇦🇺
Really enjoyed this video.
Thank you!
I'm Australian... and I haven't seen anyone here drink Fosters since 1980 something..!!!! Anyhow..good on you for coming down to check it out... there are hundreds of small breweries around these days... plenty to choose from..!!! 🍻👍
What a great Trip you had Trent! the ending 😂 😂 Cheers!
Really Enjoyed Your Video , Thanks ! 🐯🤠
You really missed out by not going on the Inner West Ale Trail near Marrickville!!
Makes me want to take that trip all over again! ❤
Great video mate. Living 2 hours north of Sydney myself, I have to say, you missed out on the Newtown/Marrickville scene. Wildflower especially, best wild/mixed ferm brewery in the country IMO. All the more reason to book another trip 😉
Cheers
Shame on me. Foster's will always be the beer of 'Stralia! Or at least I will always say that to them. Cheers!
Haha I definitely sent pics of me with fosters to Trevor of South O, he wasn't happy to say the least. 😅
It’s crazy how much we don’t drink fosters, but it’s caught on as an anecdotal beer overseas!
Looks like a great trip. Curly Lewis is a great spot. Next time check out Marrickville, grab the train there from central about 5-10m trip. then hit up Willie the Boatman, Batch, Philter, Sauce, Wildflower, Grifter and Bracket. Walkable except maybe for Bracket. Yulli's in Alexandria is also close by don't let the 'it's vegan' you'll get from the uber driver scare you. beer is fantastically sessionable and it has an awesome vibe often live music too
I went to Yullis restaurant and the food was phenomenal, wish I had more time to go to all these spots!
@@TheBruSho 100% agree with @TheMechanicalBrewer. Marrickville is considered the 'Golden Triangle' of brewing in Sydney, closely followed by the Northern Beaches (over the Bridge). Many more breweries to visit on your next trip Downunder. BTW, it's pronounced 'skoo-ner'. Cheers.
Man I’m jealous of your trip, looked like a good time. 🍻
Looks like a sweet trip!!!! I’d love to go there someday, too easy mate 🍻
If you manage to come back to Aus, come to Melbourne, great craft breweries.
Great video review! Back in college our pregame tradition was to finish off a big can of Fosters on our way to a party. It was rough lol!
Oof! Even tasting it for this vid was a shock to the system
@@TheBruSho Exactly! That way anything we drank after that was always better haha!
So glad you enjoyed Sydney! I live here and I haven't been to Yoyogi! Looks great!
Glad you tried One Drop and the Grifters beers also😊 cheers!!
Cheers! Yoyogi was a solid spot, wish I had time to go to One Drop
You scratched the surface here dude…should have a chat to a local who knows the scene and ask em where the real best breweries are (hint: hop on a train and get to the inner west suburbs)
James Squires used to be so much better and their golden ale and amber ale used to be in most pubs in Sydney. Since they got bought out by Kirin the beers changed and taste plummeted. You cant find the golden ale nor amber ale in a pub now only the pale ale.
The other big issue here is that Asahi and Kirin force pubs to sign agreements that only allow their beers to be sold. This actively crowds out smaller breweries and doesnt give them a chance to compete. Its a really sad state of affairs really.
Oh man!! Didn’t get to try any BlackHops beer or Bentspoke!! Two of the best if not the best craft breweries in Australia!
Guess I'm going back!
Glad you enjoyed sydney and our beers. I bet you didnt see one pub or bottle shop offering Fosters ;)
haha absolutely no fosters in sight!
Cool trip! We’re pretty lucky over here in Aus, there’s a great beer scene. It ain’t cheap, but hey what is these days? Hope you get to Melbourne one day, the drinking’s good down here too.
Dying to go to Melbourne! Next trip down there for sure
Lord Nelson and you didn’t try 3 sheets?
You also missed the inner west ale trail… many good brews within walking distance of each other.
It would have been so good to catch up while you were here!
Haha if only I had more time, next time!
I wouldn't even know where to buy a Fosters. Could be due to the fact that I am distracted by all the the tasty craft beers that are availble!
That last scene! Lol who pounds a Foster’s…
Trip to Brisbane should be done, theres an explosion of new mico breweries sprung up here in the last few years
Finding Fosters in Australia is an absolute anomaly
What's my gamep lan for my fosters tattoo now?
move it to the lower back
I'd get in touch with our home brewers clubs for some good info
I wonder why it’s a little more carbonated than here in the US.
👏👏👏
Are you coming back under any time?
Dude, should come to Brisbane sometime. Also Whoever recomended Little creatures should feel shame, it's craft beer for a non craft drinker.
Should have got some Yulis in you, I think they have the best beer in Sydney.
Yeah little creatures wasn’t for me. But I did stop at yullis restaurant and had one of their beers. I just couldn’t remember which one
James Squire is not really craft beer by any metric. Its owned by Lion.
Are you going over the ditch to new Zealand
I did stop by Auckland, was a little disappointed by the places I went to but maybe I got some bad recos
@TheBruSho oh that's a shame
Ooooo noooooo. Missed you. And yes you missed some cracking breweries and beers.
awesome video. Isn't Fosters made in Canada? You see any Giant poisonous spiders?
Yeah not even made is AUS anymore. And luckily no crazy insects
🤣
The best beer out of Sydney isn't from Sydney: it was, and always will be, Toohey's Old.
Only if you add New to make a 50/50. That drink got me through uni.
'Promosm'
I never liked Fosters. It was always a meh....................... We would pound Mickey's Big-Mouth, but Fosters would always be left.
Jealous.
Was just about to unsubscribe when I saw you drinking fosters!
you would have loved xxxx bitter
My Australian friend just got me some, can't wait to try it!
How did you choose the breweries to visit? None of the ones you went to would make my top 10, probably not even my top 20 sydney breweries. Watching this video just made me want to cry
Ha recommendations from viewers and some independent research, but please share your favorites so others can know!
Wildflower Brewing & Blending is the first that comes to mind amongst many others.
