Club Lunch - Fireside Chat: In Conversation with Justice Richard Bernstein

Justice Richard Bernstein was born blind and in 2014 became the first blind justice elected to the Michigan Supreme Court where he served for eight years. He was re-elected for another eight-year term in November 2022. A lifelong advocate for disability rights, Justice Bernstein is also an accomplished athlete who has completed over 20 marathons and other endurance races.
In his talk, Justice Bernstein will talk about his experience as a justice in Michigan’s Supreme Court, his pro-bono legal work toward improving the lives of people with disabilities, and his current work as a public speaker and disability rights advocate.
Justice Bernstein will also talk about his life as an athlete and can answer questions about the U.S. electoral process as the United States approaches its 60th quadrennial presidential election. Q&A moderated by FCC President Lee Williamson.
