Your mascot there, it's a rabbick. Just wait till you get around to her Frozen covers, Adagio by Laura Fabian, Oblivion by M83...they're all a special listen
Floor always does put a smile on my face. Or a tear in my eye. She's great if you want to smile and great if you need to cry a little and get it out!! By far my favorite voice on Earth!!
The piano is being played by Sir Joost van den Broek. He's played with her in After Forever, played and produced her band ReVamp, does a lot of work with Ayreon, and has produced the last 3 EPICA albums. This was in her home studio. I think her husband,Sabaton drummer Hannes van Dahl, is behind the camera. Heart's version is a cover itself, original by i-Ten in 1983.
Indeed he is with all sorts of recordings in the symphonic metal scene and always present at a rare Ayreon live concert, where he is musical direcctor. Singer Dianne van Giersbergen (not related to Anneke) has him on her recent solo album. All know each other from the Ayreon opera's like Into the Electric Castle by Arjen Lucassen. Many international and Dutch singers appear there and this opera was recorded in 2019. Joost is a genius on the piano but also on all kinds of keyboards, organs and synthesizers. If he plays on a live Ayreon concert he always has a complete battery around him. Apart from a genius in building up emotions in tight co-creation with the singer(s) Joost is also unbeatable in the creation of complex rhytmic structures. If Joost directs the rhytmics everyone is pitch on.
@@noneofyerbeeswax8194 I still wonder why he has that '#name# lol.. Guess it comes from Arjen, but why? Is it because he always outplays Arjen, or is fooling around with riffs while they still fit clockwork in the theme? Inform us, please...

As a pianist I LOVE how Floor's vocal fits in as another layer into the many layers of the piano in this arrangement. There are moments where piano arpeggios climb up above the vocal dynamically, but only on sustained notes in the vocal. It's a vocal feature, but the piano still gets to shine.
That was fun, seeing you enjoy the piano embellishments and patterns under the first half of the song. I guess many of us were thinking: just wait for the instrumental interlude! 😊
Floored by Floor's covers. There's a few but one of my favs is Oblivion - M83 (cover by Floor Jansen). Stunning performance. I loved the original but Floor smashed it out of the park, so to speak. Our Queen can even sing the Phonebook and blow you away. Cheers. Keep up the great reactions Nina, such fun to watch.
What even better is when Floor first covered this song was when she was in After forever and got a reply Thanking her by Nancy Wilson herself so what an honour.
P.s. That's Joost Van den Broek playing the piano who's best friends with Floor and was in her first band After forever, and now he's in Ayreon but also helped Floor with her new solo album Paragon.
I'm low-key a Heart fan from way back. This was an interesting take on the song. Floor has stylized it heavily here in a way that reminds me of Diva Dance from The Fifth Element. Her technique has transformed the song from power ballad to classical repertoire. Enjoyable! Great reaction, Nina!
Well done Nina! Hope you feel better soon. Floor does have a knack for putting a beautiful smile on your face, as well as ours. There are loads more from Floor during the C time. See you again very soon!
Great reaction. Knew you would love Sir Joost's piano playing. Floor originally sang Alone with her first band After Forever. Love this performance. One of her earliest pandemic cover songs.
Perfect song for Floor !!!! As for the piano, it was done by Sir Joost van den Broek (legit Knight for writing music for Dutch King). Her friend and bandmate from "After Forever" and "ReVamp". The Netherlands-based, Sir Joost van den Broek has produced, arranged, and mixed albums for over 10 years with great international success. Working for clients like Epica, Ayreon, Powerwolf and Blind Guardian, he has build up an impressive portfolio, received multiple gold and platinum awards and gained a reputation in the metal scene by consistently delivering the highest standard in modern, epic productions. With Floor performing this song, I always remember her 2015 Nightwish Cruise version, when Marko taunted her: "She's gonna do it, she's gonna do it!" 😀 A hilarious moment :) And she didn't get derailed and managed to "do it" flawlessly ;) Or floorlessly? Well, more like, floorfully 😀

I love the fact that you give much credits to the piano player Joost van den Broek. The guy is underrated in most reaction video's . Never ever underestimate Joost van den Broek. The guy is a musical genius and the power behind a lot of big projects and highly successful bands. And him combining with Floor.. .Yes, we indeed are in heaven. If I remember correctly, this was after Floor had suffered a bout of C-19. She was still recovering a little bit here but at least she still had her voice at all (some people are not so lucky). She did not have all the power here that I was used to hearing from her and she seemed a little bit too 'tight'. She has since recovered from it fully, not to worry.
Great reaction nina to the amazing floor jansen. knowing your a lover of the keys may i suggest reacting to the awesome band that is Lovebites and their live version of the swan song with the chopin intro. you will be blown away
Such a lovely review of Floor's amazing version of this song. Seeing as how you love the piano, I have to tell you about a song that begins with Chopin's Revolutionary Etude. The song is Swan Song (with the Chopin Prelude Live) by Lovebites. Their one guitarist is a world-class pianist as well. And their singer is excellent. Please listen to that great song.

I always love your reactions! Now that Floor is pretty pregnant I would really like to know how it affects your voice cos legit it seems to not bother her at all. And maybe other body changes like tonsils vs no tonsils, taller vs more petite people. I'm curious. I'm 6'1 & my lungs need a top & bottom X-ray to get them all in. I also have my tonsils & know when I'm growling that they move. Cheers from Oz 🇦🇺
Hi Nina, greetings from Reading, UK Another nice reaction, thank you 😊 You cut this short and just missed Floor nodding to the pianist (Joost van den Broek) If you do a reaction to Ayreon - "The Day That The World Breaks Down" you will see Joost featured here, along with other musicians and 11 singers ua-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/v-deo.html (It is important to do no research beforehand or you will spoil any surprises which might await you....) Ayreon is a project. Arjen Anthony Lucassen composes the music and lyrics then invites singers and musicians from all over the world to perform the piece
You should listen to Charice and Arnel Pineda singing, ALONE. They were very young, maybe in their teens. They had a friendly rivalry while singing it. They both belted it out. Thank you Nina. 😊
Thanks Nina for that intimate reaction, that performance is so powerful & beautiful at the same time, reminds me a lot of another beautiful piano/solo performance, one you might like a lot (Poets of the fall, Angel, Alexander Theatre Sessions).

Would love to see you react to Marcus Veltri with you being a pianist nerd!
I adore you Nina♥️
Watch the 2013 Christmas Metal Symphony version, too. Very different, but she absolutely nails it. Unfortunately not great recording quality.
Joost van den Broek is a really good arranger on piano
my vote is on bucky
ah, i like your reactions, you seem to enjoy music for the sake of it and on a level that's beyond my own, so satisfying.
may i recommend you another song i think you will love: 'Sleep Token - Bloodsport (from the room below)'
you may have recognized their song 'the summoning' is trending right now, but i bet this reduced version of an older song is more down your alley, just piano and vocals. have a nice weekend

Cheers from Oz 🇦🇺
do you want to hear a pure version look at floor jansen and joost van den broek stationsplein roermond 1-6-08 alone
My favourite version of Alone sung by Floor is this: ua-cam.com/video/6bwZ2zWVZd4/v-deo.html
It's absolutely beautiful!
Hi Nina, greetings from Reading, UK
Another nice reaction, thank you 😊
You cut this short and just missed Floor nodding to the pianist (Joost van den Broek)
If you do a reaction to Ayreon - "The Day That The World Breaks Down" you will see Joost featured here, along with other musicians and 11 singers ua-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/v-deo.html
(It is important to do no research beforehand or you will spoil any surprises which might await you....)
Ayreon is a project. Arjen Anthony Lucassen composes the music and lyrics then invites singers and musicians from all over the world to perform the piece
That is Stephan
You should listen to Charice and Arnel Pineda singing, ALONE. They were very young, maybe in their teens. They had a friendly rivalry while singing it. They both belted it out. Thank you Nina. 😊
🤗🍒🤘🏻😘
React to Céline’s version of alone from taking chances tour in Boston please
Hi nina, could you please react to epica featuring floor jansen singing sancta terra
Bugs Ducky
And now Tommy Johansson som 'alone'🇸🇪
Great reaction, and how about Quackenbunny for your little friends name?
"Bunken" for the mascot name
How about Tweety Bunny?
How about Flopsy Waddles? 🐰🐥
Plz react to Louis York ft. Jessie J - "Heaven Bound" ❤🔥This song is underrated!!!
FWIW, because Floor is Dutch, her surname is pronounced "Yansen".
Thanks Nina for that intimate reaction, that performance is so powerful & beautiful at the same time, reminds me a lot
of another beautiful piano/solo performance, one you might like a lot (Poets of the fall, Angel, Alexander Theatre Sessions).
recorded in her home studio, in the hayloft of her horse barn
