The ONLY way to deter price gouging is get off your BUTTS and go there and walk in to those establishments and flash your credentials and FINE them immediately.
The big companies have anti gouging rules written into their franchise agreements. I saw the Southland corp yank 7-11s away from owners after charging 10 .00 for a 79 cent water after the Northridge Earth Quake.

Lubbock, Texas lost all 7 11s last year, only to be replaced by a DK, but not before Quick Track joined. That's unrelated to the Ruidoso Fires!
