For my Singer 503a, I bought two extra bobbin cases and set one up for upholstery thread and the other up for silk. Now I can just swap cases and not mess with adjustments between projects.
i cant easily get to my bobin case, and when i get there its still all screwed. Idk how to get it off, but i need to since my needle gets blocked by the bobbin case.
I was to that and I did it to much amd it all came apart that was before I looked up how to do it now I don't know how to put the place back together or in what order plz help
The best video I have seen on the bobbin case, great explanation. I looked at your homepage and saw that you have tons of spare parts for sewing machines, and that's good to know when tings starts to break down, big like.
Hello Alitha! In order to find a replacement part, I will need the model number of your machine. SInger machines oftentimes will have a model number on the side of the machine, near the handwheel. It's normally around 4 numbers long. I checked the number provided, and unfortunately, that is not coming up in my system as a valid number. If you are unsure of the model number, feel free to email us some pictures of any writing on your machine and we can help you determine the model number. Then we can go from there. :) Our email is info@sewingpartsonline.com.
Ah, thank you! I couldn't figure out why my shuttle wasn't fitting properly and thought maybe it was the wrong part for my machine altogether. But it's probably just worn out! My machine was given to me by someone who just found it in a house they bought, so no history on it, and it's from the 80s! Lol
Well I seem to have broken it entirely taking it all apart and fiddling with it too much. I did some extensive searching online and my model of Kenmore simply doesn't have any manufacturers making parts that will fit it anymore. So I'll probably just sell it for parts and get myself a new one. Or probably a new-to-me one, haha.
@@libralady69 well you've probably already got a new one, but perhaps check at thrift stores and estate sales? I have a blue Kenmore from my grandparents house, but we dont know if it works. I have a really really old singer (like 1949) and I pulled out the case to try and adjust the tension, because we fixed all the other problems (seized presser foot) and now I cant get the thing back in. I'll get it eventually.
This is a great tutorial on replacing the Apollo bobbin case (which is what your machine has). The machine isn't your exact model, but it will give you an idea if what to do: ua-cam.com/video/ErrLMxIA01c/v-deo.html

lol, service the machine every 6 months?
that is like getting a oil change for the car every month.
You wasted so much of time on selling your stuff and talked a lot less about bobbin case care and replacement.
Are you kidding. There was a ton of information given. There are not many videos on bobbin cases. This is the best one I have seen.
