Knowing Lena has worked on the music for Celeste, Minecraft, and now Deltarune feels surreal, and I struggle wrapping my head around that.
Edit: I think I should mention that Lena did not do the music to Plants Vs Zombies, that was Laura Shigihara, who sang "Don't Forget" for the Chapter 1 credits.
I feel the same way, almost every game I've ever loved she's been involved in it's sountrack now.

I like how in Chaos King the song makes him actually feel like he's trying to kill you because it's so menacing. But with this you can tell Queen isn't trying to be menacing, she's just having fun with it.
I mean, the conversation before battling her kind of shows she is serious this time.

Fun fact (someone might have wrote this already) : In Chess, the King can only move by one space in any direction. The Queen, can move like the king, but she can move more than just 1 space. In Deltarune, the King doesn't make an appearance early game, and you only encounter him when you get to the Fountain. Queen on the other hand, is present in certain parts of the game aside from her battle.
Bonus: Jevil resembles a Joker/Jester. Jevil's "I Can Do Anything" phrase, may be a reference to the power of the Joker card in card games. The Joker is banned in almost every card game out there, and that's why Jevil has been locked in jail, or free, in his own words.

Dude, Queen had such a fun boss fight. Her attacks were really cool and she is by far my favorite boss for now.

This fight is so much fun. Like, you end up in a whole little cycle of micromanaging shit, and it's just so great. Like, it's just hard enough to keep you engaged while also not overstaying it's welcome by being obscenely hard.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I was enjoying myself greatly throughout the battle (this music certainly helps a lot), and it's over at just the right moment, when I felt like I'd seen enough. Stellar game design.
That goes for all battles in Deltarune. Excellent pacing and game design.

Optimizing it is definitely the most fun part about it in my opinion. Small things like figuring out that if you're accurate enough, Throwing with Kris and Susie and acting with Ralsei is faster than GroupLoosen, or that attacking the Acid Shield is SIGNIFICANTLY faster than GroupToasting.

I love the direction Toby took with Deltarune"s music. The style is still similar to Undertale, but it also feels like its own thing. I'm not even sure what it is that makes Deltarune's music distinct from Undertale, but I love it.
The fact that Toby is able to make the music sound familiar but also having it stand on its own in comparison to Undertale, is a testament to how great of a composer he is. Can't wait to see what he's gonna come up with for the rest of the game.
Fun fact: Deltarune was supposed to come first
I guess it's the fact it plays more with 8 (or 16) bit sounding sounds and less with real-life sounding instruments like Undertale did

That's the genius-ness of Toby fox. with Deltarune being his original project and the success of Undertale he knew he had to do better in terms of story and music.
and luckily with the creation of both entries he has made two whole unique worlds aside from the real world.
The similarity between the two games' OSTs is the constant use of leitmotifs. Basically Toby's special.

Man this song is a banger, as to be expected by Toby Fox. Also it took me a while to realize a part of the song which id later on, is literally just the Birdley leitmotif lol, considering Birdley's presence (controlled) in the fight, I can see why.

I noticed a lot of social commentary in this game. There's also that one time when a character says something like "someone is taking over the city but I am not into politics so I dont care" and when an enemy wants free healthcare of whatever and an ambulance enemy interferes with it

So awesome to notice Berdly's theme halfway into the music, since he was fighting by her side at that point, willing or not haha
I LOVE that there are others composing for Deltarune now, their styles both add distinction to the tracks and they mesh really well with existing themes. The leitmotif obsession carries over, too, which does wonders of tying them all together.
The fact that Toby fox still has the capability to create iconic music even almost after a decade of undertales release, shows this man has become a legend in the field of gaming music

[Back to Heavy and Scout, who are in a fistfight while yelling. Cuts back to Scout.]

[Back to fight. Scout is strangling Heavy with his Bat.]
Scout: [flexes a scrawny arm] "Oh man, that's beautiful. Heh!"
[Cut back to fight, Heavy now has the Scout in a headlock. Cuts back to Scout.]
Scout: " Ya' listenin'? OK. Grass grows, birds fly, sun shines, and brotha'- [pokes the camera] I hurt people."
[Cut back to fight, The Scout whacks the Heavy in the gut with his Bat.]
Scout: "BOINK!"
Scout: [back to text] "I'm a force a' nature!"
[Scout hits the Heavy in the chin.]
Scout: "BONK!"
[Cuts back to Scout]
Scout: "If you were from where I was from, you'd be f**kin' dead!"
[Cuts back to fight; Heavy is collapsed on the ground trying to reach for his Sandvich; the Scout runs up the side of a shipping container, jumps off and slams his Bat into the Heavy's head.]

[Scout sits on the twitching body of the Heavy eating the Heavy's Sandvich; the point is now RED's.]

[Opening fanfare of "Drunken Pipe Bomb" plays as the Demoman narrowly escapes a massive explosion while jumping from a drop-down corridor in Gravel Pit]

Demoman: "If I were a bad Demoman, I wouldn't be sittin' here, discussin' it with you now would I?"
["Drunken Pipe Bomb" resumes playing]
[Demoman charges into battle along with Team RED while dodging a cascade of rockets]
Demoman: "Let's do it!"
Demoman: "Not one of ya's gonna' survive this."
[Cut back to the Demoman's room, music pauses.]
Demoman: "One crossed wire, one wayward pinch of potassium chlorate, one errant twitch...and kablooie!"
[Cut back to battle, music resumes.]
[The Demoman bounces a grenade off a wall and Gibs a pursuing Pyro]
[Cut to scene of the Demoman chugging from his Bottle of scrumpy]
[A level 2 Sentry Gun upgrades to level 3]

[Sentry Gun fires rockets at the Demoman]

[The Demoman runs out to the final capture point in Gravelpit and is shocked to see a group of BLU team members charging towards him with smug expressions on their faces. A devious look comes over the Demoman's face and he runs with BLU in hot pursuit]
Demoman: "Prancin' aboot with your heads full of eyeballs! Come and get me I say! [The Demoman covers a door frame in sticky bombs] I'll be waiting on ya with a whiff of the 'ol brimstone. I'm a grim bloody fable....with an unhappy bloody end!"
[The Heavy notices the sticky bombs around the door frame, and his expression changes from smugness to one of shock. The Demoman throws a mock salute and activates the sticky bombs, gibbing all his pursuers]
[The Demoman walks up to (presumably) a decapitated head, laughing merrily as body parts and blood rain down around him.]
Demoman: "Oh, they're going to have to glue you back together....in hell!"

@Mr Guy mettaton made a drawing of his neo form on a library computer but trashed it, which is what the Addisons were referring to when they said it was "a Lighteners dream". It plays a role because it was trashed in the Queens basement where spamton learned about it and thought that body was his one way ticket to escaping being a puppet, which he notes pre battle dialogue about the strings.
Theres no coincidences in Undertale/Deltarune.

Lena Raine was the one who made the Celeste OST (Not counting B-sides as they were remixes) and the new music for the Minecraft Nether Update, and Marcy Nabors was one of the people who helped make the Homestuck OST.

Lena Raine's and Toby Fox's combined skill in music, along with their shared ability to take leitmotifs and awesomely adapt them into songs either new context, have created a royally stunning song! (Also Macy Nabors, whom I know nothing about, but the fact they contributed to this awesome song means they deserve the credit!)
You can especially hear how Lena Raine likely took part in the melody, her usage of motifs in the Celeste OST were extremely good at varying the melody, while still keeping the key idea of the leitmotif, and Queen's motifs are warped in a very similar way through the soundtrack! Seriously, Queen's leitmotif is possibly the most complicated leitmotif Toby's ever used.
0:00 Queen 1B, again that altered version that's more fitting for her action songs. However it's altered again at the end to work more as an intro, leading into
0:11, where it's again Queen 1B, this time following it fully.
0:25 Then here it moves onto Queen 2B, again typical for Queen's action themes, shared with Cool Mixtape.
But then the song really spices things up at 0:38, where it uses Berdly's Theme! It leads into it with the percussion drop from Smart Race, before going into Berdly 2. I'd like to think this represents not only how Berdly is being forced to fight you too, but also how Queen has complete control over him, to the point where his melody is integrated into her song. This also pays off Smart Race, where Queen 1 is used at the start of it. There it hinted how Queen was subtly manipulating Berdly, but now that she openly has complete control, both songs combine in full force!
1:05 Here the song takes a breather for the bridge, but also switches the melody to Berdly 1! I believe the whole sassiness of this part is to really push Queen's smugness over her control over Berdly, taunting the party with it. It also comes in in full force at 1:20, before leading back to
1:32 where it again uses Berdly 2. Fitting, considering this is really just the structure of Smart Race!
But the song's motifs still aren't done!
After breaking into an original variation of Berdly 2, the song ends off with this riff at 1:52. Recognize it? It's the Nightmare Knight motif! Very similar to how a part of it is used in The World Revolving too. Considering Queen literally explains how she witnessed the Knight create the fountain in the scene after this fight, it makes sense. In a similar parallel to how the last part of Chaos King implies the Spade King was being driven somewhat by the legend, this part of Nightmare Knight hints at Queen's motivation for her master plan to spread the Dark World, from watching the Knight itself!
...Yup, this song has a ton of motifs, nearly as much as BIG SHOT, and it's awesome.
