Gotta love Scrape Armors quality here. The fitment is just perfect and I actually feel good about the protection they offer.
Agreed. And the only one approved by GM.
@@FrontSeatDriver
How can they justify the price?
Fortunately, these are now offered by Chevrolet. I included this option with my order and they will be installed by the dealer so I won’t have to hassle with it. In my case, the dealer is the corvette museum. My coupe 3LT is being built next week. I estimate I will be picking it up in Bowling Green during the first week of January.😊😊😊😊 By the way, I love the yellow. However, I wish Chevrolet offered a black and yellow interior rather than just a yellow stitching. If that would’ve been the case, that’s what I would have ordered. Instead, I opted for the rapid blue, and the tension blue/twilight interior.
I had the Tension blue in my C7 Grand Sport. Loved it and Rapid Blue is super nice.
Scrape Armor is the grill guards they install in your C8. Great ones. Be glad you’re not doing the install. It’s not fun!! 🤣
Congrats on your upcoming C8! Send us pics on Instagram @vette_syndicate
We will post them!
Jason,
Great job on having Justin do the work while you supervise...ha ha ha 🤣.
Now let's take her out and put some smiles on 😁.
54 👍 Currently!

I got this whole supervisor thing all figured out! Lol
The tool kit is just amazing. Great quality. Definitely approved by Dads Garage!
Well done, Jason. I mean Justin 😂. I love the words that Justin makes up as he does installs! He obviously has done enough installs of “stuff” that he has his own vernacular. That’s the mark of a true expert! Kidding aside, nice job, guys. VS needs to get together more often.
Yes. We definitely do!! 😄
6:08 “That’s riveting” 🤣💀
😁
I forgot to add these during my 2024 C8 build and i'm upset about it - didn't want to have to do any extra work! But these will do.
Nice!!
My baby looks so good on camera! Lol. Love the car
It never fails to amaze me what the after-market guys come up with for the C8. I wonder if GM is paying attention in that most if not all of these modded improvements should have been thought of by GM especially when it comes to protecting various parts of the C8. Well done guys on this install.
Save the Wave 🙋♂
Hi, Peter!!
I was thinking that same thing. GM actually offers these now when you build your C8. These same Scrape Armor ones. It’s like $450 installed.
Hope you’re doing well my friend.
One of the mods you BETTER get on your C8 Fast! Mine got beat up just having 100 miles on mine before installing these.
Thanks for this informative video brother. I'll make sure to invest into this once I get my C8 Stingray 2lt convertible accelerate yellow next year in June. You just earned a subscriber. 👍👍👍
Thanks, Alvin. By the way, nice color choice! 😁
@@FrontSeatDriver Thanks alot bro. I also forgot to mention that I added the Carbon Flash-painted nacelles and roof. I really can't wait to get my hands on my corvette LOL 🤣😂
@@HalpPlsxx01 You’re going to love it!
Looks amazing dude!!
Thanks!! 🙏
First mod I did to my c8.
Nice!! What color C8?
Show the center guard installation for the C8 Z06 please.
Horsepower Obsessed will have a video for the Z06 soon.
I saved this video and will definitely consider this product at some point t when I get my C8. It’s hard to see from camera angles what you cleaned with the alcohol and then where the bottom bracket attaches, could you provide pictures, or does the manufacturer have pictures and guides that come with the product?
It’s a very tough angle to film without a lot of light. I will look and see what I can find. I already threw away the directions so I do not recall if they had good pics.
Yes we included a PDF with each shipment highlighting alignment, you can also see more details here: ua-cam.com/video/G86I3zSTEwY/v-deo.html&feature=emb_logo
@@scrapearmor4140 awesome thanks!
My 2nd c8 will be here in January gonna have them
Nice. Congrats. I definitely think they’re worth it. Already had damage after 50 miles.
@@FrontSeatDriver I only had my 21 for 6 months sold it to get a z06 but decided 185000 was too much getting a htc this time
@@greggermany252 Not to mention how hard it will be to get one.
@@FrontSeatDriver I’m number 2 on the list at my small dealer he will probably get 3 23s the owner has already ordered his which doesn’t count on list tim I s number 1 I’m 2 !! I know it will be a beast but just hear too many unknowns to pay that kind of money!!’ He may be a kook but listen to vette titan seems to have knowledge of some catastrophic things with it I loved the 21 !! It will be my 6th vette all have been black this one will be murdered out !! There’s a restraint on 20 spoke black wheels gonna have the polished 20 spoke dipped as soon as I get thanks for the info keep up the good work
@@greggermany252 Thanks, Greg!
Mine took 1 hour per side and those stickers don’t just pull off that easy and my kit didn’t come with any tools as advertised
Not sure why it didn’t have the tools. Your stickers must have been superglued on. That’s crazy.
Is that the 1VM or 5VM splitter on your car?
5VM from ACS Composite.
So having the 5VM splitter, it shouldn’t affect the install of the scrap armor?
No. I have the 5VM. No issues at all.
@@FrontSeatDriver yeah I see. Idk why the owner of ACS commented on his install video of the splitter, that it wouldn’t work with a 5VM… strange
What about the front? There’s a huge gap in the front which leaves and debris will get thru.
I haven’t had any issues with that yet.
Corvette fans who now created there own QVC.... crazy times. 🤪
Well, sorta. I don’t sell them so not exactly.
Are you related to Lawrence Welk?
Are these the same ones you get when you add that option to your build from the dealership?
Yes! Same exact product, if you're looking to purchase from your dealer they are GM Part No. 19433251
@@scrapearmor4140 awesome thanks I ordered these from the dealership and added them to my build. Do you guys also sell the side vent protectors for the opening on the door handle and side of the car??
Those will be coming soon I believe.
@@FrontSeatDriver ok sweet I’ll get those as soon as they are available..
Tadge Juechter, head of Corvette engineering and design group, in a interview has said "any of the other grill guards could adversely affect the cooling of the transmission and will negatively effect their warranty". Why give the dealerships an excuse to not cover a failed DCT?
These are the same ones that are available through GM. These will not void your warranty. Only the scrape armor brand though.
$400 is way overpriced for what these are.
The others are not the quality of these. They literally cannot compare to Scrape Armor. That’s why they’re cheap. They are flat and do not fit the same as Scrape Armor and can actually wear a hole in the radiator. But I respect your choice to buy whichever brand you choose.
@@FrontSeatDriver Just curious, are you sponsored by scrape armor or an affiliate?
@@brandonlovestech454 Affiliate. I got these in exchange for a video but I met them at Corvettes at Carlisle and talked to them extensively about this product and like anything I install on my cars, I would pay for if I would promote it. I genuinely believe these are the best on the market. You can add these to your C8 build from GM now as well. They are GM approved. It’s like $450 on the visualizer.
@@brandonlovestech454 I guess I need to clarify, I chose to do the video. They never actually said I had to.
It’s not cheap shipping free hardware out to all their shill’s. Like the rest of these manufacturers that have a team of paid off UA-cam influencers (Not reviewers) they pass the cost of the consumer. If you don’t like it start your own channel and work on your BS and watch the freebies start rolling in.
You did more damage to the fins than 50k miles of driving would.
lol. No. Not even close to true but thanks for watching. BTW. They’re still in excellent shape over 1 year later.
Look at the radiator prior all the installation work performed and compare it to the near end of video.
@@FrontSeatDriver
500 dollars Canadian is an absolute ripoff.
NO Tool Kit included on my package. Now I have to purchase the necessary tools. False advertising here.
Reach out to Scrape Armor and let them know. I am pretty sure they’ll send you the tool. It’s not false advertising. C’mon.
@@FrontSeatDriver , perhaps, but I have read the same exact thing happened to someone else also. And, I sent a message to Scrape Armor last evening asking them to please explain what is going on. The thing is I placed a phone call to the vendor I purchased from last Monday and specifically asked them if they were sure that the kit came with the necessary Tool Kit. This was prior to my purchase. Their response was that it did come with the tool kit. Anyway my Radiator Guards arrived on a Friday evening and I was looking forward to doing the install today, Saturday. So I just placed an order with Amazon for a mini ratchet set with the necessary T15 and 7mm bits in order to do the job. If I had known in advance that I would have had to do that I would have bought my own tool kit prior to ordering the Scrape Armor Guards so I would have everything required when I needed it. Just a lot of inconvenience and mishandling thus far. For the cost of these things in comparison to other products, everything should be as it is advertised.
Other brands do the same job and are much easier to install.
Actually they don’t. Not exactly anyway. It’s like comparing a Miata to a Corvette. Both are sports cars that get you from point a to point b.
The SA ones are not flat they’re form fitted to fit properly to the back of the radiator grill. They also have padding to protect the grill at the attachment points. And apparently the air flow isn’t restricted as much as many others. Supposedly the other brands could rub a hole in the radiator and cause a leak.
I’m going off of what I remember from meeting with SA at Carlisle this year
I will say though, you’re correct, they’re not super easy to install. But for me it’s worth the effort.
Anyway, I always appreciate your feedback, Kirk. I hope you have a great day my friend.
