The mermaid section has only renewed my desire to see BLG play Wandersong. It's short, it's hilarious, it's a wee bit meta... With plenty of room for shenanigans and lots of cute characters that Casey will love

Every time they go to the home screen and we get jumpscared by Freddy, it cracks me up in a way that I can't articulate.
Fun fact: While typically true, Trick Room doesn't *always* mean the fast pokemon go slow. With enough set-up you can make a pokemon so fast that it outspeeds the trick room and ends up fastest again! This is due to the way trick room was originally coded. Getting a pokemon to a speed stat over 2000 I believe causes the math to kind of break and that pokemon ends up fastest again.
Also: Double Team sharply increases a pokemon's evasiveness, not accuracy :p

All of the bosses and minibosses in this game are fantastically designed. The skater is my favorite miniboss I think. Purrjector Cat, the cat with the mice bombs, is my favorite regular boss. And of course, Grape herself is just so. good.
This game being an intro to all sorts of little genres is fantastic. The mermaid sections with their almost rhythm game endings are cool. Not super hard, but require a bit of attention if you want all the gems. I can easily see a kid being like "oh that was fun, I want more" and getting into rhythm games proper

This game really doesn't give much time to react on these autoscroll segments if you want all the gems, huh? They probably expect repeat playthroughs and memorizing what to do.

There's this one game, I won't say the name on the off-chance you play it one day, where the final boss steals all the buddies you'd gathered up over the game and then you have to fight them to get them back.
It's the inverse of the SM64 Eel! Neat!
