Sorry I'm late to the comments! Here's episode 3!!! A couple of notes: 1. If you missed my community post from a couple days ago, I've committed to having my editors edit the first full season regardless of how well the videos do. So keep watching and liking, and at this rate we'll go even further! 2. People mentioned that I'm good with remembering names compared to others. I have to disclose that in real life I am bad with names and I actually cheated a little: At the suggestion of a Patron, I wrote down character names from the show without any context and added to the list as I got introduced to more after each episode. And you'll see that I still forget some of them with that lol. 3. You guys are the best. Thanks for watching!
2) Dunno if I would call making notes/doing name prep as cheating... tbh it's actually very smart. Tons of reactors at the very least, take comprehensive notes, because you don't want to be constantly lost in the sauce, and not be able to immerse fully in the story due to how much info is being dumped at ya - which is necessarily front-loaded more in the start of the show. Here's hoping that you get enough video views to keep going with GoT, but if not at least consider watching it all on your own time, some of these seasons are literally the best television ever to be broadcast so far.
I'm glad I found your channel. I love watching people discover GOT knowing all that is to unfold throughout the seasons and you are very expressive and catch on pretty quickly as to what is going on. I hope you do your reactions often because there are a lot of episodes. Looking forward to future reactions.
Arya went to King's Landing because her mother and the septa thought she could learn to behave like the elegant ladies of the south and also to start looking for potential suitors since she would be a lady of one of the most powerful houses in the seven kingdoms. Bran also was supposed to go,since he is not the firstborn he would not inherit Winterfell,so in order to find a potential wife or to increase his prestige he should have gone to court as well,he dreamt of being a knight of the kingsguard before he fell off the tower
Lip balm has been around since the Egyptians. They used things like beeswax and various oils to sooth chapped lips. Varys's "little birds" is his name for his spies.
Ned was having a war flashback at the end of the episode when Arya was practicing with her new 'Dancing Master,' Syrio. It was supposed to be a beautiful moment, with Ned being proud of both Arya, his daughter, and of himself for doing something kind for Arya and giving her something that she really wanted; however, the memories of the horror of what war is really like came flooding back to Ned. Also probably him fearing for Arya, hoping that she would never have to experience what he has experienced.
Glad I found your channel. I have watched between 30-50 channels of people reacting to GOT. You are really doing a good job at paying attention to everything going on. Can’t wait to fallow you on your journey. Game of thrones is such a great show that you will enjoy.
I can’t wait to see more of your reactions to this show!!! You are going to absolutely love the character arcs in the show. Especially a couple you seem to already be interested in which I’m not mentioning who.
I do love that Tyrion pissed off top of The Wall, such a guy thing - marking one's territory, per se! 😂 The reason why Commander Mormont read the scroll from Winterfell is because every piece of information is his per view; he needs to know everything that is going on and therefore reads all scrolls which enter Castle Black. As for Varys's "little birds"...that's a euphemism for spies, so, no he is not speaking with actual birds.
This is one of my favourite episodes because it introduces my favourite character Syrio Forel. SPOILER: It's funny looking back at these episodes and remembering the arc Jaime goes on later in the series, it's sad that he didn't seem to be able to get Ned's appreciation or at least respect for killing the mad king, thereby getting at least some kind of revenge or as he puts it "justice" for what the Mad King had done to Ned's father and brother.
I know you've already finished the series but it's never explicitly stated in the show. The reason Arya went with Ned & Sansa to King's Landing is they hope being around the court would help to make her more into a lady, which failed spectacularly. Furthermore, in the books. Bran was also meant to travel with them. He wanted to become a knight so living in KL meant he could squire for a high lord and also become good friends with Tommen, who was around his age. The fall changed those plans. obviously.
man watching your video makes me wanna rewatch GOT again lol I remember few years ago right after college and before I got myself a job. I watched the first 7 seasons of the show in a week. I basically watch a season a day lol.
It funny how movies, shows, or song during certain years is like a Time Machine that takes us back to the feelings we had when we first watched. I think that’s part of why reaction videos are so popular !
Yes, that's Aegon the Conqueror's dagger that represents the Song of Ice and Fire! We didn't know this until House of the Dragon came out. They made it look less clunky in HOTD. So glad you're watching GoT!
Another enjoyable review/reaction. This was a fun episode...you get introduced to several "new" characters that will play a HUGE role in what's to some. Trust....ah yes...something that is hard to come by in this world. There is a reason it is called GAME of thrones.
26:45 Although they could not pop into a 7-11 and buy a chap-stick over the counter, primitive peoples were in touch with the botanical world around them. Oils from nuts and seeds and hydrating substances such as aloe were probably in common usage. Lard from animal fats could be used. Failure to take them along on journeys would have been a personal oversight.
This show has some "serious" character arcs and character development. I'd love to hear how scenes affect your view of characters as the show progresses.
Yes. That is the sane dagger from hotd. Good catch. By this time no one seems to know that it's a magic dagger that knows about the white walkers. Also hotd added a layer of interest to.the targaryan family as many of them either know or have visions of the white walkers. It kind of explains why some of them are mad. Or seem mad, but may very well be rational agents given what they know and what they think they need to do to prepare

The tiny little scrolls wrapped around raven's legs have to be unwrapped and read to find out who they're intended for, so it's not the most secure form of communication, but it's fast. Such notes are first received and read by the maester (who trains and cares for the messenger ravens). Sealed & stamped scrolls containing more sensitive information would be carried by a trusted person travelling on foot, horseback or via boat. They would ensure that it's only opened by the intended recipient.
Somebody commented last episode about shifting morality depending on the character. Fine example of it this episode. Cersei talking to Joffrey about lying and everyone screams about how horrible she is. Ned explains to Arya that Sansa had to lie, and everyone barely speaks up about it.
I remember trying to watch this with an ex and this brought up those feeling! Who cares what your reaction is? This show is great and speaks for itself.
I really enjoy your reactions to GOT! Stick with it even though it is hard to do at times. The character development and story lines are crazy good! The further you go the better it gets
Ned is a man of honor and gave his word to the king that he would marry his daughter to Jeoffrey...he can't just say "no" later, because of a problem between children.
What Varys meant with "my little birds are everywhere" was kind of a play with words, u know the saying "a little bird whispered into my ear", so he just calls his informants "birds" Another funny thing is that "Varis" in finnish means "Crow", it is pronounced exactly like his name, so theres more birdy stuff 🙂
more than that, Arya was being trained to KILL. Ned knew learning to fight would make her happy, but I think that was the first time he really felt the weight of making his daughter into a killer.

Sir Alisor Throne(the one who was teaching them in the yard)was sent to the Wall because he was on the wrong side of King Robert's, war, so he hates Jon because he's Ned's son
Good theories all in all. Hard to know if someone who at first appears to be involved was actually involved or being set up, or the information wasn't quite right somewhere because info is passed in a telephone game type manner in this type of setting. Because Jaime and Cersei are royalty and they love each other and they have blond hair, they consider themselves as being "Targaryen light." They actually believe that they are entitled to the throne! That is why they are smug. Tyrion, on the other hand, because he is not like them, can see their position of privilege more clearly. He doesn't take that power for granted. In Jaime's defense, because he was taught by Arthur Dayne, the greatest knight of the realm while he lived (and some say still....) he is not as smug as his sister. When he murdered the king, he saved countless lives. I do have to wonder if Ned would have done the same thing, or if he would have gone with keeping his honor and burned everyone in King's Landing?
It’s very difficult to assess Dany and Drogo because she was essentially sold to him snd has no real agency. So is she embracing her role, or is she submitting to it/trying to survive? Otoh few women in that world had any agency n their marriages, so it’s not apples to apples. Re: Jaime, it’s probably worth noting that he was like 15 and essentially a hostage when Ned’s father and brother were killed.

looking out for your own best interests what exactly is wrong with that? that is what you do......that is what people do Jamie chose his moment to kill the mad king......it certainly was NOT when the throne room was full of 500 people, including loyal knights....Jamie would have died, and he might not have even been able to kill the mad king Jamie chose a moment, when he knew that his strike would land, and no one would be around to save the king......the only people who were around, were those loyal to Jamie Ned just doesn't like the fact that what Jamie did happened AFTER his father and brother were killed....Ned is a begrudging asshole
In the books Arya is nine. Arya was brooding in her chamber and one of Ned's men asks Arya if she is in there. She shouts no! The man walks away and Arya muses that man was always stupid.
If you read these comments Snaxan don't read this, kinda spoilerish. OMG, this show is going to destroy her and it's going to do it by the end of this season.

The colored light on your drapes and wall bleeds into the video of the TV program.
Bravo.
27:40 well some men should question their orientation
looking out for your own best interests
what exactly is wrong with that?
that is what you do......that is what people do
Jamie chose his moment to kill the mad king......it certainly was NOT when the throne room was full of 500 people, including loyal knights....Jamie would have died, and he might not have even been able to kill the mad king
Jamie chose a moment, when he knew that his strike would land, and no one would be around to save the king......the only people who were around, were those loyal to Jamie
Ned just doesn't like the fact that what Jamie did happened AFTER his father and brother were killed....Ned is a begrudging asshole
Let's goo❤
I prefer the book version of the king eats and the hand takes the sh*t

In the books Arya is nine. Arya was brooding in her chamber and one of Ned's men asks Arya if she is in there. She shouts no! The man walks away and Arya muses that man was always stupid.
