Dialectric grease is good for points ignition for sure, but I prefer the thick viscosity of the AC DELCO and BOSCH points grease. At the shop we tried all types of brake clean, carb clean and penetrating oils. Most were sub-par.
Some really good information and advice in that video. A stuck check valve, points grease and a pipe cleaner, keep it simple and don't overlook the small things. Good stuff. The Mantis did ya proud in the flower bed!
I like simple and thorough when it comes to engines etc. I sure don't like most new stuff, as it is usually complicated and cheaply built. Vintage is for me !

The chainsaw shirt was a gift from a former youtuber that did a lot of chainsaw stuff. He actually sent me some shirts, a cap, stickers and several parts saws, a truly generous person. Unfortunately he no longer does his channel. We have had normal heavy rain and low temps this spring, but next weekend it is supposed to get to 80 degrees, then cool back down to the normal 60's. The 80's will feel like a 100 due to the high humidity.
My Mantis (2010) runs great on Stihl Moto Mix which is 50:1 with 93 octane gas and is good for two years. When I filled it up this spring I just refilled it with my standard brew. Moto Mix starts easier than my standard brew but at $42 a toll on is pricy.
My Mantis runs the same fuel as my other two cycle stuff - about 50:1 Stihl Ultra with one ounce of OPTIMIZER Plus and one gallon of premium, non ethanol gas. I say about, because I measure my two cycle oil and my eyes aren’t what they used to be. I do err on the side of more, rather than less. I measure out what my eyes say is about 84 mm and pour it in my one gallon NoSpill gas container. That should give me about a 45:1 mix. I have never damaged an engine with this mix. My MANTIS STARTS IN A COUPLE OF PULLS.
Where do you get the foam for the Mantis air filter? We have two of those little tillers and they’re fantastic little machines! Thank you and God bless you.

Me, too. I put it on electrical connectors and a little bit on the spark plug, so I can get the boot off down the road.

Thank you for the super nice comment. The foam I made the air filter for the Mantis came from a motorcycle shop that specialized in dirt bikes.

I use NGK spark plugs. Easy to find and work great, have used them for years.
