Really is staggering to hear the difference between rugby and football players. Not just accent but vocabulary, content, level of reflection. This coming from an Arsenal season ticket holder!
@@Zkkr429 I am the CEO of a multinational - let's just say money is not an issue for me. My club level season ticket is £5000 annually, my Brabus is the best part of £250k. My house? Well, the one in Geneva is not as expensive as my one in London. I am not bragging, just feel it is important to add context to my previous comment. Best regards, Cleg Smegson
@@clegsmegson2627 rugby is advertised like a bullish game with big hits but it is actually a very complex game! much complex than football.i watched some masterclass videos where players from diferent positions explained how they analised on the spot and what kind of decisions they take during certain phases of the game. impressive . totally underrated the complexity of rugby.
I remember my mum commenting when Tony Neary (a solicitor and then the most capped England player) was being interviewed in Rugby Special "Oh, he's better spoken than footballers". Neary was later jailed for embezzling clients' money.
I can’t stand people who complain about the scrum in union. I love the contested scrum. If you don’t want contested scrums then watch rugby league. I watch league. I love all the codes of rugby; union, league, 7s; I love and watch them all.
Connor I can understand the frustration you feel about the resets, but think about this. If the clock was stopped for every reset, that would extend the game. Remember, American Football comes directly from rugby, and they stop the clock many times throughout a game. A 15-minute quarter can easily turn into 45 minutes real time, a 60 minute game can easily lapse pass 3 hours... yikes! I’m an American who grew up with the NFL, but once I found Rugby 4 years ago, I dropped the NFL and have been a fan of all the codes of rugby. Plus you can think of the resets adding to the drama of the overall game and the time crunch putting pressure on all involved. Adds a dynamism unlike other sports
@@MichaeldeSousaCruz It doesn't add drama to the game. It sometimes kills over 10 minutes of ball in play time. Either turn the clock off for the reset or add the time on at the end of the game.
Connor you might as well watch league (which I’m a fan of too) if you want to have more ball in play time. League is decades ahead of union in catering to spectators, because they went professional long before union and they had to create a game that people would want to pay to see
I've never really been in a proper scrum and I don't always understand what it entails but I agree that you can't have rugby union without the scrum, it affects the game in so many ways!
Only backs and Aussies moan about the scrums. So much unseen work goes on in there that too many people fail to understand or apprieciate. Austin Healy is the perfect example of a mouthpiece that just doesn't have that understanding, yet willing uses his ego and influense to rattle on about it; a good underatanding of his position in the game, but not of what goes on at the grunt end. Without the scrums the backs wouldn't have the platform to play their part nrarly as often.
Was good many years back but Not been world class for a few years. Offers nothing around the park except penalties. Sinkler (British/Irish Lion) is better.
C 0 Sinklers a hot head who in high pressure games will let the side down with discipline. Cole is much more controlled, experience and just coz he doesn’t do fancy offloads or big runs like sinkler doesn’t mean he doesn’t offer anything.
There speaks someone who doesn't and/or hasn't played in the front row at any decent level, and probably never.. Old King Cole and Jacob leafblower Marler are still Englands two best scrummagers, which as he said is needed to tire out the opposition pack, which in turn allows players such as Rhino Genge, Mako The fly half and Stinckler to rampage around the park later in the game. England are the only team in world rugby to have the benefit of players such as Cole/Marler to add depth and huge experience to their front row.. I played in some very good front rows as a hooker, albeit many years ago [almost stone age], and there isn't a better set of props on the planet right now, with the addition of Exeters Harry Williams to the 5 at the RWC.. They all offer what is required in any given circumstance..
Cole is solid in the scrum but he’s not destructive or feared. The way he plods about the field in between scrums isn’t world class. Let’s say he’s 7.5/10 in scrums and 3/10 in open play. Surely that can’t rank him as one of the world’s best tight heads.
Dan Cole is hilarious even when he’s not. Legend of England Rugby! 🔥🏴
Yes he is shutup
Bloke's a dude!
Couldn't agree more, no nonsense terrific servant, hope he gets to lift the cup soon.

I don’t think you understand what context means.

What a nice bloke and a great player. Thanks for representing England so well!
It's people like Dan Cole that make me slightly happier about being from Leicester. What a gem.
Love to see good England players who didn't come through posh private schools . Coles had a humble beginning and made the most of it

Can't stand the resets tho. Should call time off. Instead they waste 5 minutes of game time

6:06 brutal humpty dumpty headbutt
That's what happens when you go high on a prop.

That vid of him head butting the Irish guy 😂
Dan dan dan the man who CAN
Really important points he made about the dark art of the scrum. Please score against Oz again Dan!
Very good, and articulate.
Class act🏴🏴
Dan Cole, master of the dark arts and scrummaging god
Shame he was so badly shown up by the Beast in the RWC final.
Been a top player for England over the years
Sir you are a gentleman und v honest ty x
Brilliant player and seems like a top bloke!
Cole and Marler make a great double act on and off the field. Marler is more of the clown but Cole is delightfully dry.

Thanks for playing for England.
Legend
Front row is the best position to play 💪🏽
Hardest position to play
i would like to have a beer with him
Norma Stits me too!
wait...he played lock in a ladies team!...Where exactly was he binding?
its the classic minge bind!
England is cruising at the moment. They will be formidable...should be great game against ABs.
Jim Crow well done England. You wanted to win more...Congrats
Is anyone gonna mention that theres a classroom in the backround😂 keep headvutting for us dan!!
What a big bald bowling ball of a man. Great guy!
Hows the hit at 6:07 - monstered!
Top bloke.
you would end up playing a N F L style football scrums are exciting scrums help create the excitment of the next move
Such a humble man, even his hair was too good for him! Lol
Lookin like the rock! but smaller!
Smaller? Cole is 122kg.
I think his is the most humbled story
Should do a my story on George ford
Yep, best thing in the world, and tight head most important role in sport. Haha
so Dan if I understand you played second row with your head stuck between two Belgian girls bottoms?rugby is a hard game lol
South Leicester 😳😳 hope he’s not too disappointed as they lost 240-0 at the weekend 😫😫
Holy shit... I didn't believe you I'm afraid to say, so I googled it 😬😬😬
Great guy
20 degree heat in the middle of summer? wtf England
Love u england
Never mind lads fight to the end we are proud english
I’m a short but strong stocky guy what position do you reckon I should play? Flanker, Prop idk
hooker if you are chunky, scrum half if you are gobby
Hooker - where all the best, most intelligent, athletic, skilful, handsome people play.
@@richwalker8898 I spent a lot of years playing tight head and came to the conclusion that all hookers are nutters.
@@agnostic47 now I'll take that from a prop - but I'm fighting anyone else!😂
i do love dan but everytime he pulls on a england shirt i think....."thats 2 penalties we've given them" he is a great player though.
He gets the penalties back though when the other team collapses under his weight in the scrum😂
If there was no scrum it would be league. Nothing wrong with league but then there would be no union🤣💪
Like, if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle!
Looks like Scot Mendelson 😂
i think you played second row in the girls team cos they dident trust you😂
Binding a a second row in the scrum must have been interesting that game...
mikes246 the facial expressions
Imagine lifting him!
If you complaining about the scrum you can go watch soccer.
What a performance in that 2012 game against Ireland
I respect cole and all but doesn't he look like the type of person who drinks gravy?
Terrible squat technique from Marler
Boring

You make a fair few inaccurate assumptions, then start just spouting opinion as if it’s fact.
Alex Ryder Sinclair is better, cole still has something in scrum that’s it
