So glad Baukje is better and drinking the bowl milk again, love the milk mustache. Risey and Yfke the gallop across the area, looking good. One special herd.
I am so thankful you let us know ahead of time that each horse that got colic recovered after a few days. I lost a horse to colic and we know Risey's birth mem died from colic. You've handled the news and video timing well for those of us following.
I think you're doing an amazing job, Yvonne! Regarding Reintje, Baukje, and Yfke getting sick, my best guess is there's something in that particular meadow. Other posters have speculated a water contamination, fungus, or invasive plant. I think it's tied to the meadow because the other horses are eating in a different area and they haven't gotten sick. And maybe Risey hasn't been affected because he's a different breed - or because one of the supplements you're giving him has a protective effect? In any case, I'm glad everything worked out in the end. 💙
I would have the pasture checked out. Continued prayers for you and the herd and boss Rein and Risey and Miss Glendy. Dont forget to try and smile and many hugs from afar.
Multiple horses with colic? It has to be something they're consuming. You've said in past videos that it's been raining a lot and the ground is super wet. Could it be some new plant has sprouted that they're all eating that's bad for them? Or maybe some parasite in the soil is starting to go rampant because of the wet. Or some sort of mold or fungal spores on the grass itself. I'd say look around the pastures for strange plants, and get stool samples tested for parasites (if that hasn't already been done). Or, god forbid, maybe even get their water source and the hay supply checked too. With so many getting sick, there has to be some kind of common denominator. I hope you figure it out and nobody else gets ill!
Thing is, it's only been reintje and her girls. None of the other horses/ponies have been effected. And hopefully they won't. I think it's all the rain, making the grass too wet/rich. 🤷♀️. Fingers x'ed that by now Yvonne has found the cause and it's been sorted. 🥰😍🥰❤️❤️
I agree it must be something they are eating, maybe a fungal thing in the wet conditions?. Added to above ideas, what about their feed, has the supplier changed anything in the feed makeup. Just a thought as I had an animal get sick as the feed had been changed.
@@kdlighthouse100the feed was my first suspicion when Uniek got sick. It is a very rich feed and we all know how greedy Uniek was when it came to food. And of course she always begged (and received) a few extra pellets just because she was Uniek. You’re doing good Yvonne just keep watching them with the vet check. Maybe they don’t need to eat wet grass. Try that and see that look like the common denominator is that they eaten wet grass from the pastor and then came back and with colic ache and it seems not all of them because rising has not❤
That was my first thought too after both Reintje and Baukje got colic after being in the pasture, either an unwanted plant, or bacterial/molds in the soil due to the large amounts of rain here
Regarding colic, could it be because of a food that has fermented or been stored incorrectly? I also agree with those who think you should check if it doesn't come from the meadows, just in case (this can also be due to a diet too rich in cereals, ingestion of sand, mold, etc). It's not your fault, sometimes problems happen even if you're careful. I don't know many people who take care of their horses as well as you do. Courage 🍀❤️🩹
Positive vibes to all the horses and ponies at Stal Horjus! I always thought Dieuwke was like the name Duke in English, so I always thought of Dieuwke as a boy! But in this video I heard Yvonne refer to as "her"!
Have your soil and pasture area tested; the possibility could be in this situation - also, though we want to trust our suppliers with the horses grain choices - it’s best to make sure that they’re regularly having third party testing done on their products being sold and used for their customers horses 🐴 - hoping everything gets resolved quickly and your beautiful horses may live in health and safety ❤

I hope Yfke gets better. Maybe the vet can help Yfke like Baukje was helped. Maybe the wet grass from all the rain gives them colic 😢❤. Hopefully, the weather will improve and the pasture grass will not be so wet. I live in Central Florida in the USA. We have also had so much rain, but I'm not sure if horse owners here have had problems with colic. I'm curious about that. My heart goes out to all horses that are in pain because of it. My unreserved admiration for your sweet, calm manner remains.🥰
Just like I will stay with the herd. If things get too bad again, I'll just put "👍🏼" under the video and don't read any comments. 😆
Sending you best wishes and a nice evening in the beautiful Netherlands
Andrea❤️
You’re doing good Yvonne just keep watching them with the vet check. Maybe they don’t need to eat wet grass. Try that and see that look like the common denominator is that they eaten wet grass from the pastor and then came back and with colic ache and it seems not all of them because rising has not❤
Poor Yfke! Sorry to hear about all the problems with colic
I feel that's there's something growing in the pasture that's causing you so many problems. Fingers crossed for all of your beautiful horses
That was my first thought too after both Reintje and Baukje got colic after being in the pasture, either an unwanted plant, or bacterial/molds in the soil due to the large amounts of rain here
Get the soil tested.@@mirandak4512
Like hearding cats 😂
So Impossible 🐈, but fun first viewers to watch and giggle - not like YvonneH’s sighs of exasperation!! 🤪
Spidey and Glendy are both adorable little troublemakers and I’m here for it ❤️
Totes
Me too! 😂
Such beautiful horses good mischievous
Daisy is just as bad - she just missed out on the mischief this time.❤❤❤
The ponies are all about the quest for food! 😋
Glendy is being Glendy and has taken Spidey into her universe 😂🥰
Dieuwke is a typical Frisian name for girls. It means ‘protector of the people’. A wonderful fitting name for Dieuwke the dog❤️
MOD🌷
I love Yvonne showing us the frog leaping in the pasture. I feel like I'm walking and smiling with her. ❤
❤
They are just checking everything out making sure you don’t have any intruders!!😂😂❤❤
How sadly afraid you were dear Yvonne😢 Hope the last 3 month were the opposite: nice dry summer and healthy horses 💙
❤❤❤❤❤
❤🎉😊
Dieuwke waiting her turn for some milk is so cute! ❤
Who gave Spidey those lightning bolts?...
I'm so glad that I already know that Yfke is alright. 🙏❤️🐴
bauke and mathilde

Happy Sunday Trinity and fellow Herdies! ❤❤😊
💛🧡❤️
Love seeing Dieuwke!! She's so adorable.
You have been dealing with some issues! So sorry! I see this is June 18 and I hope by this day Sep 22 it is better.
❤❤
Cze. Opravdu netuším, proč onemocněli zrovna maminka Reintje a její dvě dcery. Víme, že Yvonne dělá pro své koně jen to nejlepší a doufám, že letos už si smůlu vybrala. Držím pěsti, aby se koním i Yvonne dařilo ❤❤❤.
Dieuwke is such a fantastic dishwasher! 🥰
"ugh"... but 🤣🤣
UGH!!! Colic aGAIN?!? I'm so sorry Yvonne ... you have been through the wringer enough alREADY without another episode!! I LOVE Yfke so ill be praying for her to remain well!!! Shes to pretty to be sick!!! ❤❤❤❤ LOVE TO ALL THE HERD COMMUNITY ----❤ Grandma Sherry❤😂🐎🐎🐎
❤❤
I hope Yfke gets better. Maybe the vet can help Yfke like Baukje was helped. Maybe the wet grass from all the rain gives them colic 😢❤. Hopefully, the weather will improve and the pasture grass will not be so wet. I live in Central Florida in the USA. We have also had so much rain, but I'm not sure if horse owners here have had problems with colic. I'm curious about that. My heart goes out to all horses that are in pain because of it. Risey seems to be still thriving and enjoying life, especially with Efke his bff.
So nice comment❣️😍❤
...and so rarely at the moment...😢
Rope barriers mean nothing to these intrepid littles!
Wonderful video. Thank you for sharing with us. ♥🐎
Dear Yvonne, I'm really sorry that you had another horse get sick. I hope, between you and the vets, you can find a cause...good luck.
Those ponies are little stinkers. They had me giggling. Like herding cats!!! Everyone wants the milk. You do an amazing job caring for everyone. 💜
Shiney and Sunny are good friends now, sweet.💞💞
Poor Yfke
❤ Thanks Yvonne! It's such a joy to watch all the horses, ponies & dogs come to you for everything. You weather the trials with humor, dignity & grace. My prayers are with all of you every day 🙏 I have complete faith that all will be well; God knows what you need; He knows we all need YOU!!!!💙🦋💙
Amen and perfectly said . Dont think it is anything that Yvonne is doing.
Never been this early. The horses are absolutely beautiful like always, Yvonne
Maybe check your pasture, where they eat, to see if something is growing there that shouldn't.
