hey craig- i've been a subscriber for about 6 months and love all your vids. you have inspired me to make my own brews. i have tried all extract and just tried my first grain/extract brew. keep up the great work. take care
What a terrific video!! I did run to get a homebrew to sip while watching this, but I also wanted to get on jeans, black t-shirt, and a baseball cap, but had to draw the line somewhere, lol. Felt like I was right there with ya. Yeast has vitamin B not D, unless I'm mistaken, but what the he**. I wish they had Festa Brew here, I'd sure try it, looks great. Fo, I was dying for you to pet that sweet doggy, thanks for finally giving in, LOL! Take care guys, this is what it's all about! Cheers!
Awesome vid! Early on when I was researching into starting brewing, I actually looked for the FestaBrew kits here in the US but had absolutely no luck finding them. I really like the concept of a brewery-made wort for an awesome, quick brew. Cheers guys--great video as usual!
Hi guys, I am now drinking my Festa Brew Red, which was brewed thanks to you guys and this review. It is excellent at 4 weeks. Can't wait for it to age a bit more. Just fantastic. Keep up the great vids...much appreciated. Will try a Coopers Kit next either dark ale or IPA. Cheers guys. Rob in Moncton
@casualtiesofpunk Basically what your buying is a food product at this point. So you get taxed on that. There is no alcohol in it (yet) so the huge taxes don't apple. 3 cases of craft brew would cost like $120 - $140. So this is a good buy.
LOL! Listen to that dog! My dog goes nuts for bottles too. Great vid. I'm with Steel Jan. I want to wear jeans and a black tee and join you guys for a chat and a brew.
@tnm140 Well, figuring the equivalent of a 5 gallon kit you would get about 640 ounces, divided by 12 ounces equals 53 bottles. So figure 2 cases for 26 bucks, vs 5 gallons for also starting around 26 bucks. Also figure no need to carry them (some of us walk to the store), and no need to carry empties back (some of us live in states with container deposits). And considering that homebrew tastes so much better and I think it's still a money saver in the US.
@mixmmick Will probably be doing one within the next week or two (hopefully). I haven't done much brewing since the last vid--had plenty of brew to drink! :-)
The old beer professor that I get my grains from makes up a similar thing. 23 liter (Maybe 5-6 gals in american moon measurements?) AG wort that you ferment up yourself. Kind of takes the fun out of it for AG folks like me, but its a great way of cheaply getting really really good beer (The guy makes a MAGIC brew) , and yeah here in australia we have ridiculously expensive beer. Here in perth its like $17 for a six pack of coopers, which is waaaaay too much. $9 a pint at the pub!
@PeiHomeBrewer Hey Len. I was just wondering what kind of esters and flavorings the Festa brew that Fo made would give off, given that the optimum fermentable temps can't be attained in Canada right now...
How much is beer in canada. Here in New Jersey I get 24 (a case as we say) 12 oz macro brew for around 15 bucks. I actually got a case of bud last week for like 13 and change. Basically I homebrew cause it fun not to save money. Thanks guys Todd.
@ACTeslaMachineDC This Red Ale came with S-04. The yeast in the video was for an actual lager I made. Craig was just showing the process. It was fermented probably around 65, but at this time my basement is 68 and I expect it to stay that way until fall starts up. With the A/c on in the house, the basement has been 68 since early June.
@ACTeslaMachineDC Its pretty HOT where I am right now. Craig took that clip with the S-23 from another of my videos. That wasn't the yeast for this Red Ale, but for an actual lager. This beer came with S-04. But my basement has been a stead 68 for the past 2 months. I fermented the lager around 55 degrees in my cellar at the end of winter. I have no fermentation temperature control so I'm all laggered out until Oct - Nov prob. But with the A/C on, my basement keeps at 68 so its ok for Ales.
@CraigTube Yer he is not wrong. Average case of beer here in Australia which is usually in 345ml bottles is between $40 - $55. Funnily enough, when I go out I buy some of the imported Gernam beers, as they are usually between $10 - $15 for a six pack. Most of the price of beer here is Alcohol tax.
Dear Craig, Thanks for the video.I need to try this Festa beer... By the way I tried the jello trick you two guys said would clear the inmate brew..I did not have any luck with that..Maybe you could address the right way to get it to work some day? Thanks Dave
@emiliano17ar Well he took that video from my channel of me making a lager. Just showing the process of Festa Brew. That wasn't a video of this particular beer.
i dont know what the hang up with all grain brewers with brewing extract. beer is beer and the quality of extract ingredients is superior to what it was a decade ago. I all grain, I brew in the bag,i extract quality beer . Extract brews are winning contest nowadays...luv the videos....Cheers
Craig, is there a way to modify these kits? If you wanted to add an additional flavor whether it be honey, fruit, etc., is it possible? Thanks for all the vids.
@CraigTube I will look into if I am being taxed at all. since i found a great place to get supplies and other cool stuff from now ill look at my recipt I think I do get taxed a goods tax though. I'll get back to you on that though. cheers n'beers
Hey guys, cool video. Festa brew looks and sounds awesome. You guys have the same mugs as I do :) Those babies hold like 24oz.'s. Hey Fo- didn't know you were a Mets fan...I have been a Mets fan since I was like 8. Miller beer has come a long way too Craig, it's much much better than Ole Milly-waukee' for sure. cheers guys !
@tnm140 Even on a 1:1 compare, it's a savings even if marginal I agree. But it's so much more added value. How do we quantify that? After all, the price we'd pay for a masterpiece is not just the cost of materials, hehe. Lets go have a mona lisa homebrew!
@duckmonsterX Wow that is expensive. Its only $12.60 for 6 Coopers here. Which is still expensive, but it did have to come across the Ocean mind you! Sheesh!
Here on Vancouver Island ( west coast Canada) I pay around $12.50 for a cold 6 pack of almost any decent IPA. I have friends in CA. who pay 15.99 for 24 cans of Bud Light.....The difference is absurd. So yeah, no bloody wonder we brew our own here.
Just a little friendly advice to a Fo. As I see You Fo like grolsh bottles very much, as I am ;-) Tap them on the sink in water (no matter cold or hot) for about two-three hours and easy take of these ugly grolsh labels off with sponge... The bottles then will look great with your beautiful beer! ;-) Cheers!!! Nikolay / Bulgaria
What was your ferment temps fo? that saflager S-23 is a lager yeast, that best ferments between 59-68 and even lower than that I've heard. I dont think it is that cool in Canada still is it?
so i basically just put it in my carboy add the yeast and ferment for 10 days then rack into a primed bottles to carbonate wait the two weeks for bottling chill and drink it up
I just put on my first Festa beer today, daughter gave it to me for my birthday, hay cool i will giveer go. Its their wheat beer but It was way to easy left me sitting wondering wow what can i do now ,
what about the taxation on the kits? I think the only way to get around the taxation would be to go to an actual grain distrobution and grow your own hops, yeast that is a no brainer. If only I could do it that way.... Oh well I found a great supplier only 45 min from me! cheers and beers craig and fo!
And about Vitamine B... especialy Vitamine B12.... this is vitamine who make you feel "not passive and sad" in some way this is vitamine of happines... I did not mean LSD or MerryJane :-) haha
@CraigTube Craig I absolutly understand why you homebrew with whatever method you may choose. I love the hobby and the beer i make and have been making extracts for about 6 years. If it good i'll drink it. Festabrew, coopers, muntons, whatever, Ive never had festabrew but if I can find it ill definatly try it . Cheers
Great video. Another option for home brewers. I'm sure the "All Grain Superstars" are cringing. Who cares? They're snobs and you guys make great beer. Isn't that what counts??
It's actually B complex vitamins that are in yeast, not vitamin D. Again you guys are not doing research and giving false information. This is especially painful as I've just released a new track entitled, "CraigTube," that was going to be a bridge to relieve the tensions of the anti-arts campaign I thought you gave up.
@CraigTube £1 =$1.6001 so 50p is 80 cents for 440ml so your bottle is 341ml (bottles here in the uk usualy more than cans) so... my can is about 30% bigger so I would be paying about 56 cents for 341 ml of Beer , lol my head hurts ,oh carling is an English Beer, cheap lager 4% , its ok made from 100% English Barley , guess you have a different Beer by the same name .
hey craig- i've been a subscriber for about 6 months and love all your vids. you have inspired me to make my own brews. i have tried all extract and just tried my first grain/extract brew. keep up the great work. take care

Just pickles up a blonde ale fiesta brew just finished pitching the yeast! Can't wait to try it. Fast and affordable, hopefully it tastes as good!

I have made a few of these like Brown Ale , IPA , cream ale and other festa brew kits and they came out great. Cheers and 17
Had a lot of fun watching this. Cheers!

I just bough one of these festa brew kits tonight looking forward to trying it out!

@tvtoms Im a long time home brewer. The savings is marginal but the hobby is great. I do mostly extracts an i love them. cheeres
Brewers yeast is high in B complex vitamins guys. You can buy it at any GNC or drug store, or you can drink it :)
The old beer professor that I get my grains from makes up a similar thing. 23 liter (Maybe 5-6 gals in american moon measurements?) AG wort that you ferment up yourself. right on craig. I live in Northern Ireland and the beer prices are absurd.

My local HBS sells fiesta brew in 2L pop bottles, you just add a 5g yeast and a blow off tube.

After all, the price we'd pay for a masterpiece is not just the cost of materials, hehe. Lets go have a mona lisa homebrew!
@weirdbeer Yea that S-04 is good at slightly higher temps...cheers man.
@duckmonsterX Wow that is expensive. Its only $12.60 for 6 Coopers here. Which is still expensive, but it did have to come across the Ocean mind you! Sheesh!

Try buying a case of beer in NL! I recently bottled my first brew and can't contain my excitement for another 2 weeks
@nige4958 Your right. I did know it was B, don't know why I said D. Just one of those things. . . . Thanks
Great vid sir

I just put on my first Festa beer today, daughter gave it to me for my birthday, hay cool i will giveer go. Its their wheat beer but It was way to easy left me sitting wondering wow what can i do now ,
Thats fast and easy but weres the fun in maing beer like that?
This vid is hilarious....especially daisy in the end
@terpsichoreankid Ask your local brew shops. Some make their own versions, like my one does.
what about the taxation on the kits? I think the only way to get around the taxation would be to go to an actual grain distrobution and grow your own hops, yeast that is a no brainer. so what beer are you talking about that you bought?
@terpsichoreankid Hey Joe, When are you doing your next video?
It would be fun to get on google+ and do this. You can have like 15 people in a hangout.
@drdezz Ah, that's not nice, Fo's a sweetie.
And about Vitamine B... especialy Vitamine B12.... this is vitamine who make you feel "not passive and sad" in some way this is vitamine of happines... I did not mean LSD or MerryJane :-) haha
@CraigTube
And water, sugar and yeast DOES work lol :D
@birkettchris I doubt it. : (
why lager yeast in a ale beer??
@CraigTube
Craig I absolutly understand why you homebrew with whatever method you may choose. I love the hobby and the beer i make and have been making extracts for about 6 years. If it good i'll drink it. Are you guys the new Mckenzie brothers? :)
Great video. Another option for home brewers. I'm sure the "All Grain Superstars" are cringing. Who cares? They're snobs and you guys make great beer. Isn't that what counts??

@tnm140 I put up a video a couple days ago that will answer this question. Its a short video. Check it out /watch?v=EzzhP__3bQM
@tnm140 Man that is cheap for N.J.
HAH, TSA parody. Ouch.
@drdezz I find this comment annoying . . . lol
aren't Socialism and high taxes great?
had enough yet?
it's up to you
isn't Socialism great?
how much is a can over there ? I'm in the UK I get the Beer when it is on offer ie: 30 cans of carling @ £15 that's 50p a can
@CraigTube £1 =$1.6001 so 50p is 80 cents for 440ml so your bottle is 341ml (bottles here in the uk usualy more than cans) so... my can is about 30% bigger so I would be paying about 56 cents for 341 ml of Beer , lol my head hurts ,oh carling is an English Beer, cheap lager 4% , its ok made from 100% English Barley , guess you have a different Beer by the same name .
