Listen to those beautiful harmonies accompanying Shorrock's unforgettable voice. The LRB was one of the most underrated band of that 70-80's era of great music.
The song that introduced me to LRB in 1983 and still one of my favourites. Another classic by them is of course 'We Two' also a favourite of mine. To all those still listening in 2020 take care & stay safe.
OMG .... one of the greatest bands on the planet!!! Now kids you can learn from this group if you are going into creating a band today. This group will teach you success! Dont think so .... BET MY LIFE ON IT!!!!!
Great Ad for Sydney !Thank god the weather was good! I remember watching this live from Sydney being proud .. back then Australia was rarely mentioned or featured internationally on any media
I was only in the second grade when this song came out. I don't remember this group playing on MTV back in the 80's or 90's. Maybe it was just on the radio.
You guys are the best and only LRB. Why would anyone want to see the version of LRB now. Wayne Nelson is a very good singer but that's it!!! Go see the original three members. Sorry you guys lost your name.
blueraybird, Ric Formosa was the original lead guitarist. He wasn’t too shabby either. Have a listen to “it’s a long way there”. Awesome lead licks from start to finish for eight and a half glorious minutes.
The studio recording track was played while the band lip synched. No outdoor acoustic losses or change in any nuances, vocally or otherwise. I know the orig track by heart 😎
Everyone is there to singing / playing. They can sound like the studio version!!! Have you not heard of Alan Parsons? The man is a perfectionist and his live shows used to use the original singers from the album. Even later on different singers but the music perfectly played!!!
Who Cares! I LOVE this Verson! It is The Best! Even IF Britney Spears lip synced at her live shows,I would still kiss her Bare asss, and suck on her toes!!!! 2.45 pm 5/19/18...38 years ago This Weekend I Graduatied High School! Prairie Heights Lagrange, Indiana..WOW how those years have flown by! Like the twinkling of an eye..
thebeastlacey it is. I’ve listened to the recorded version a million times in my life, and this is 100% that version. Every note, every nuance is exactly the same/ and yes I’m a musician. If you don’t want to believe that, ask yourself how the wind is clearly blowing at a decent clip (look at their shirts) and ask yourself why there’s no wooshing noise, no ambient sound whatsoever. Not that these guys can’t sound awesome live, they are one of my favorite bands and I wish I could find more true live performances. But this isn’t a live performance
Chris, Graeham Goble has said the the band recorded most of their songs live in the studio. That’s drums, bass, and 3 guitars going down on 1 track. You don’t, and can’t do that unless you are bloody good. With that said, think about recording 8 and a half minutes of “it’s a long way there” mistake free as a “live” recording. Yes I think this the recorded version too. LRB alway got big wraps for how their live playing was almost indistinguishable from their recorded versions. No studio trickery just extremely talented musicians, and aren’t we lucky. Not just to hear this fabulous music, but to call them our own.
Great band and great song. But i'm glad this lip syncing crap that was all the rage in the 70s and early 80s is mostly gone. How many great live performances were we robbed of because of this. It's virtually impossible to find actual live recording of many great classic bands that aren't around anymore.
Its because the lead singer is the distinctive voice behind the band. He forms the heart and soul of LRB with Birtles and Goble. The bass player only joined much later
LRB were better before the bass player came in . He's the so called leader of the copy band now and they sound nothing like LRB . No new songs of note just a poor cover band of one of Australia's best
Per Mark Goodman on the SiriusXM Big 40 Countdown, George Martin liked the vocals of Wayne for this song over Glen's. But politics prevailed and Glen's vocals were used for the album.
They are not one of the greatest bands on the planet to me........their library isn't that extensive IMO. But......I do love their sound and love 7 or 8 of their songs quite a bit. Their voices blend so well together......have always loved their sound. This song takes me back
A little river bound was great. But why is it that they sing with American voices no slang of their Australian voices. The Beatles did the same thing. Sing with American voices but no English twang
I’m here in June of 2024 still amazed at how great these guys still are. Mercy we had such music in the 80’s❤🔥✌️🤘
One of the most under-rated bands of all time.
Ranks up there with Chicago and the Eagles.

Still listening in 2022 and never sounded better!
Farnham sings that song
one of the greatest bands in music world!
'The Little River Band' and 'The Eagles' have the same vibe in the sound of their music, two great bands.
I never thought of that. You are right!

I miss those harmonies.
I'm shocked that the views are so low on this. Great tune! ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS !
Glen is just one helluva vocalist, fantastic.
Gorgeous vocals, and just gorgeous period 🔥😍
Really great backdrop !
these guys had sooooo many great songs
Saw them live at Pine Knob in Michigan, long, long time ago..they were great! Amazing vocals and just great night.
Wayne Nelson

Neat piece of history. A great reminder of how superbly all their voices blended. Thanks for posting.

Australia's counter to America's band The Eagles. Both bands had many great songs that inspired the entire planet. Gooday Mate!!!!!!
I'm a true Southerner, from Alabama USA! This is the Best Band Ever! No other Band will ever come close!
Awesome One of the best Bands of all the times 🙏🏻
Thank You so much, for best music on earth. Truly takes me home. Best vocal band ever. WOW! Leaves you speech less.
I love this music !! They don't make em like this anymore... Oh man now I sound like my grandmother lol
Great song! My favorite LRB tune.
Amen Sista!
I will always be there for the music and the lrb, I grew up in this area
Great Song & Band
beautiful Sydney!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my hometown!!❤❤❤❤
At first I thought was a miming performance, but I think it's really live. What musicianship!
Er no chance
@@davidkyle2073 I'm sure they could have pulled it off live, but you're right, that was the original recording no doubt.

The good OLD days.
I couldn't have done better even in my state. Thank you LRB!
Vocal harmonies are top 20 all time
excellent band, completely underrated
@cookie cookie tv As far as pop/rock bands, I think they're very close to The Smithereens, Cheap Trick and The Bee Gees.
Most under rated band of all time! Nobody has the Harmony and talent

🥀Awesome Song amazing lyrics and music
When I close my eyes, it's so easy to see!
Fantastic group!
I miss these guys. 1st saw them in Tallahassee, Florida in 1970's. The 'band' playing under their name should quit. No comparison. :)
Even a mellowed out Glenn would sound better than the current line up doing the old stuff. Its a shame we'll never hear John Farnham again either.
i love this song and this bands
the eagles from the land down under !
Great song, great band. I love it over the years.
Freggin’ awesome.
sharing lead vocal, nice
God how I LOVE this song.
the best. xxocc
Love Glens dance moves :)
Where can I find a man like THAT today?? ;-) lol
Great band of the past.
Brilliant band.
Nice song
The real LRB.... still better than the fakes..
I was only in the second grade when this song came out. I don't remember this group playing on MTV back in the 80's or 90's. Maybe it was just on the radio.
They were played on the top 40 radio station throughout the 70s and 80s, never saw them on MTV though.
Australian Music
so perfect
Good songwriters
love it still....
Hell yeah
This is the studio version
Yeah i thought that too. No difference from studio then it's lip sync. Kind of a rip off
And produced by GEORGE MARTIN. He knew a thing or two about vocal harmonies.
Via Satellite...Good stuff
We've just launched an online museum dedicated to Little River Band www.shorrockbirtlesgoble.com

Amen Sista! They were Great! Like The Honey Mooners ...Jackie Gleason and Art Carney...
Did you know that the Eagles thought they had the best harmonies ever!!
In this video you can see the 2 guys who swiped the LRB name from the original members, Stephen Housden and Wayne Nelson....
I think just Housden owns the name.
And the band went backwards ever since
Dis jawn dope 4sho

YES, It happened !!! Great singing...

Very cool. Not their greatest song - but even then ti's a great production from one of my FAV bands!
The lead guitarist on the far right looks like Graham Russell of Air Supply!
Stephen Housden (who joined the band just after "Time Exposure" was released).
The real & best LRB solo guitarist was David Briggs..
Steve Housden who now owns the Little River Band name
blueraybird, Ric Formosa was the original lead guitarist. He wasn’t too shabby either. Have a listen to “it’s a long way there”. Awesome lead licks from start to finish for eight and a half glorious minutes.

Lip sync? We would love to hear you. Shame your producers thought otherwise. I would listen to you guys in a basement unplugged.
What year was this
Once again, typical 70's using the studio recording dubbed in to a live performance.
The studio recording track was played while the band lip synched. No outdoor acoustic losses or change in any nuances, vocally or otherwise. I know the orig track by heart 😎
I really don't think so. The guitars sounded different than the studio version, plus there are mikes and monitors in all the right places.
It did sound a bit 'too good' for outdoors, IMO........
where was the pianist?? lol - yes, i know it was lip synched, but still one of my favorite songs of all time.
Mal Logan, he's on the left.

He was nowhere in the same league as George McArdle.

Why is Wayne Nelson singing the whole song on the newly greatest hits cd? Like Glenn singing better.
He was supposed to sing the original back in 81 but from what I have heard Glenn protested so he got it. Btw Glenn left the band after that album
and once again the great Wayne Nelson LRB fans!!!!!
Wayne Nelson rocks
Playback a bit?
That drummer didn’t read the memo
It's a shame they can't use there band name anymore and there's a cheap second rate version in America
Glenn and the original band were the BEST. Don't like the American guys who took over.

This is obviously a lip sinq deal. Not needed with this band. Their live sound is excellent.
Did this band really need 3 guitarists?
