    Great video, Jason. Very thought
provoking. As a “young” senior person, I look back on life and wonder what changes I can make
    moving ahead personally with
myself and others. One major change I am working on is being
a positive person. That sounds easy but can be difficult in the day and time we live in. My goal is to encourage others while encouraging myself. Keep the videos coming. Excellent

There’s few people I can sit and listen to talk randomly about life stuff. Something about your demeanor and sarcasm clicks with me. Thanks for sharing.

Was that a STILLWELL cigar?? The cigar with PIPE TOBACCO filler?? Please for the love of God someone send a STILLWELL no. 27 to me in Europe. An English blend cigar with Latakia and Virginia?? I cant contain myself, I might come....... to the U.S just to buy one as they have yet to hit Europe.

Hi, from PORTUGAL, you should do more videos like this, you take/say your opinion about random subjects do you mau think is interessant , about life, ouro about foolish things,ir doesn't matter because the important os that you are a good speaker, and that is your special think, and i think you don't have notice yet, you are searching for something that you already have.
    Good luck....

I came for the Bourbon and Cigars and stayed for the philosophy!
You know, I keep going back to 'Is this the PERFECT CIGAR?' vid. Not just for the Andalusian Bull, but because I *need* to be reminded how lucky I am with my young family and that this snapshot of time is so fleeting, so temporary. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.
But boy, that Bull is so damned good - what are you smoking in this video?

Giving yourself a command, and then obeying yourself, because you respect yourself.
We obey people we respect, so if we don’t obey our own orders that we give ourselves, then we don’t respect ourselves. And if we don’t respect ourselves, no one else will respect us either.

Excellent chat. @10:33, I’ve always been my own role model. People should strive to be more like I am. Regarding wives, I’m not sure if women are even capable of respecting us. They’re driven by motivations that even they don’t understand. Being a good, dependable man, who provides for his families every need doesn’t ensure respect. Fear based leadership isn’t really my style, but maybe I’ll give it a shot someday. 🙂

I liked this video. I met my wife a little less then 20 years ago( October 2002). I got my junior black belt in karate that year, assisted with teaching class (juniors and seniors - not age related but grade related), so I knew a few things already (discipline, commitment, focus, etc.). I was also an acrobat, did capoeira, breakdancing and did shows for an income. She was a dancer. Most guys wanted her and give her nothing that she had any interest in. I ignored her. Not intentionally, probably 'cause I didn't think much of myself in that area. By December we met on the streets, she remembered me while I had no clue who she was and asked me to teach her how to split. We have been in a relationship ever since, happily married for 14 years, 1 child 12 year old and she still can't split. Focus on what is important I guess. I still sometimes wonder what I did right and the answer is a little bit each day (commitment, loyalty, trustworthy, letting her know what is on my mind(sometimes words not enough), keep other people out of our relationship, admitting I don't know everything thus keeping on learning about whatever is important (videos like these), the list goes on). Thank you for this video👍

Read "The Way of the Superior Man" for insight into what it takes for a man to be respected by his wife. This video is touching on it quite well. Spoiler alert: Constantly taking care of "Honey-Dos" is not it.

Beautifully said - I found myself nodding to much of this. In the corporate world we talk about authentic leadership, but I think it applies in your personal life too - others need to know your values, and see you demonstrating them consistently, this will drive respect… I would love to hear more of your thoughts - how do you motivate yourself on a huge project, and making a relatively small amount of progress each day, week. Keep it up - I love spending time in your company…

That certainly was a beautiful place you had in California. I enjoy being reminded of it in your closing. The new music is growing on me, too. :-) A series of this sort of video would be welcomed, but not necessary. If you discipline yourself to do such a series, would it be forced and unpleasant (at least for you)? Would you be true to yourself to create such a series? The anticipated path and the actual path can, and often do, diverge. We trimmed trees, removed scraggly bushes, and piled brush yesterday. Can hardly wait to see what y'all did over on BlackBurn. :-)

This is great! A few weeks ago I had probably my second cigar ever. I noticed that I was able to slow down and reflect on life. Something I don’t think a lot of people do often enough. So…I started researching cigars ,because of the great experience I had, and came across your videos! 😂
I recently purchased some cigars and plan to use them to slow down and reflect on myself and the things around me.
Since I started to self reflect more, I have already changed things in my life.
    Love your videos man!

If your boys are even willing to seek role models, and accept masculine advise from their dad or other men, then that's a success in itself. So much of what I see in youth these days is self-absorption to the point that they're not interested in what advise they might gain from anyone other than themselves, and I think that's due to fall of the "atomic family"(as they call it today). Watching your video brought to remembrance how I always sought advise from older guys who I perceived as "having it together". I have genuine gratitude for older guys who took the time to help me along in my ascendance to manhood. In contrast, I have all girls, but some of the principles are the same, and I just support my wife's efforts for the greater part she plays. (I do sometimes wish I'd had at least one son 😀).

This was not a boring video at all. You mentioned previously that you were going to put more effort into UA-cam. More high-quality content for your subscribers is the result of YOUR DISCIPLINE. I truly believe that your channel will have more than a million subscribers faster than you may think. P.S. That Pledge Prequel is amazing!

Yes, I agree completely and thank you for reminding me of some things and enlightening me in other ways. This video is one of the gems that you regularly create that hooked me years ago and galvanizes my interest. Your other videos are not bad, in fact they are excellent and I enjoy them. But this one, and many others in the past, is excellent, valuable, thought-provoking, and encouraging; thank you!
