    I like the way you get to the point(s) without a lot of unnecessary, introductory chatter. I'm in Singapore now, visiting for the first time. One thing I thought worth mentioning is that if you use an overseas Visa or Mastercard to pay for MRT and bus rides, you'll incur an extra 50 cent processing charge each time you use them. Another thing I find amazing is that it will often rain here for short periods of time. I never see people carrying umbrellas when it's not raining, but when it starts to rain, umbrellas miraculously seem to appear out of nowhere. I'm trying to figure out where people are hiding them. And these aren't the little, collapsible umbrellas.

      Actually there are some shops here
      Such as 7 eleven do sell umbrella if it is rain or you require one
      Which makes very convient in Singapore

    I'm a Singaporean myself and those are great tips!
    But a thing to note is Kopi-C (Kopi = Coffee) or Teh-C (Teh = Tea), the "C" does not mean Creamer. "C" = Evaporated Milk. If you order just Kopi or Teh (without the "C"), it uses Condensed Milk instead.

    In addition to private eateries in Singapore Changi Airport, there are also Staff Canteens in T1 and 2 (and maybe others) that are open to rhe public, have good prices, and large selections.

    I went to Singapore last week: tip of saving a lot of money: don't go to japanese or korean restaurants especially in the shopping malls, as I went with my brother it could cost us quite a good amount of money, because of the added tax you need to pay for expensive food!

    Correction: "Reserving" your table with tissues are not socially prudent. For one thing, it started years ago by some smart aleck who thought it was a great idea to do it. Apparently, that was back when basic social manners and etiquette was very shady.
    In other words, there's a 'rudeness' and 'inconsiderate' factor to it. Instead, have a friend seated at the table to inform politely in-coming patrons that you have companies at that table. It's just etiquette, not to mention it's a reflection of who you are as a fellow human being.

    Bonus tip: any price in most restaurants, multiply by 1.18 to get the actual price (accounts for both GST and service charge)
    Good video though, from a local’s perspective. I’d also recommend Googling for ‘good food around X’, where X is your destination because most reviews for food in Singapore are written in English. Miss Tam Chiak, Lady Iron Chef, Seth Lui and Daniel Food Diaries are great.

    Hi there. Thanks for the video as I'll be travelling to Singapore in a few weeks. I was wondering if there'll be extra fees if you pay MRT / bus rides with international cards? Thank you

      Hi! Yes, there is a fee of 60 cents charged each day you use a foreign credit card on the bus or MRT, regardless of how many rides you take on that day.

    Hello there.
    Wanna ask if they are also accepting Debit Card both Visa and Mastercard on their transportation.?- because what I always see is they are only using credit card.

    • @reachingsingapore
      @reachingsingapore  7 місяців тому

      Debit card is accepted for Singapore transportation as long as it is visa or mastercard. There are some banks around the world that block overseas transactions for debit cards, check with your bank to make sure your card is enabled for overseas transactions.

    there is no such express lane on escalator!!! stop spreading your imaginary law/rule!!! escalators is designed to stand not walk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @View_your_channel
    @View_your_channel 9 місяців тому

    Tips 19 is not a official rule and it does not exist, all MRT escalator has a logo stated to stand firm on escalator to reduce fall or accident... and pls stop promoting your stand left walk right on escalator, and there is not fast lane... you only keep left on espressway/highway and PCN(Park Connector)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
