    Can multiple passengers use the same credit card for bus? Please let me know.

    • @reachingsingapore
      @reachingsingapore 10 днів тому

      Hi! Unfortunately a credit card cannot be shared between multiple passengers. Each person needs their own card to ride the bus. If you do not have another card, the next best option is a prepaid EZ Link card. Similarly though, every passenger must have their own card. Buses do take cash, but it is more expensive than using a card.

    Hi there, In terms of foreign credit card /debit card, how much extra money will be deducted in MRT and buses.

    • @reachingsingapore
      @reachingsingapore 12 днів тому

      Hi! A 60 cents per day charge is added when you use a foreign credit card on public transport in Singapore. This is regardless of how many trips you make. If you make one trip, it will charge 60 cents; if you make 10 trips, it's still only 60 cents added. The fee covers the cost of foreign currency exchange for the Singapore operator.

    Tip 1: Taxi, correct just queue for normal taxi, its slightly cheaper, avoid trans cab (red) or compare using grab, gojek, tada. Also note that taxi has surcharge at peak hour and tolls esp if staying at suggested location like tanjong pagar. Tip 2: Train is affordable but note that it can be crowded and not 24/7. Just pay with credit card. If you topped too much into ez link, very troublesome. Tip 3: Sim card, every mall have. Or just klook. Singtel tends to sell extra bull that you dont need, but best reception. Tip 4: Walk because no trains there so this tip dont make sense. Taxi is hard to get ard the area mentioned too. Tip 5: F1 week is fine... just if you want to do any attraction, book ahead. There are plenty of hotel option. Avoid chinese new year. Most places are closed. December is good cos most locals are out. Tip 6: Ok Tip 7: Eat at hawker, coffee shops and food court. Most local eats black pepper crab. Tip 8: Ok

    What's the weather like in July? And is it easy to get a taxi in Orchard Rd?

    • @reachingsingapore
      @reachingsingapore 2 місяці тому

      Weather in July is typically warm throughout the day, sunny in the morning, and likely to have a thunderstorm in the afternoon. It's uncommon for it to rain at night. Getting a taxi in the Orchard Rd area should be easy - many buildings have taxi stands where you can hail a taxi or book using an app. Taxis won't be able to stop on Orchard Rd itself, they can only use the taxi stands and building entrances along the road. I wrote a full guide on how to catch a taxi on my website, check it out here: reachingsingapore.com/singapore-catch-taxi-guide

    Bayfront, Raffles Place & City Hall had a similar layout where same coloured train lines are on different floors. Newton station is the only station in SG that a commuter had to get out of the fare gates to switch to another colour train line (5 min grace period).

    When you get on the bus do you tell the driver your destination then tap your card? In England that's what we do but I was wondering in in singapore if I need to say where I'm going, if I already have the right bus from looking at google

    • @reachingsingapore
      @reachingsingapore 2 місяці тому

      Hi! No need to tell the bus driver where you're going. You tap your card when you step on the bus, and tap again as you leave the bus. The card reader will calculate the fare based on the distance you travelled, and charge this amount to your card.

      Debit card is accepted for Singapore transportation as long as it is visa or mastercard. There are some banks around the world that block overseas transactions for debit cards, check with your bank to make sure your card is enabled for overseas transactions.

    I'm just curious, are all MRT lines one-way or two-way? If I take the EW line from Changi Airport - Tanah Merah station until EW8 and transfer to CC9 at Payah Lebar station, does it go directly to CE1 Bayfront - Gardens By The Bay?

    • @reachingsingapore
      @reachingsingapore 5 місяців тому

      Interesting example! From Paya Lebar, trains can go to either Dhoby Ghaut or Marina Bay (inc. Bayfront). My suggestion would be to take the next train regardless and change at Promenade if you are on a Dhoby Ghaut-bound train. When catching the train back from Bayfront, you can take any train. Occasionally the train might not go all the way to Paya Lebar, but you can always get off at Promenade or Stadium (or any of the stations in between) and continue your journey on the same platform with a train that goes to Paya Lebar.

    Very useful video, thanks. How can I pay the EZ link card? Cash? Credit card? Thank you

    • @reachingsingapore
      @reachingsingapore 5 місяців тому

      Best way is to use cash. If you're visiting Singapore for a short visit, you might be better off using your credit card for public transport - if it's visa or mastercard it will work on buses and trains in Singapore. There is a fee of 60 cents per day for using a foreign credit card, but there is also a non-refundable S$5 "card cost" for buying an EZ Link card.

    Hi new susbcriber. First time to visit singapore maybe we will arrive about 10pm. Is it still advisable use mrt? We will be going to out hotel located at Chinatown.

    • @reachingsingapore
      @reachingsingapore 7 місяців тому

      Yes you can still use the MRT if you arrive around 10pm. Try to get to the Changi Airport MRT station before 11pm (Singapore immigration and baggage collection are very fast - it usually takes me 15-20 minutes after my flight lands to collect my bag). Depending on which part of Chinatown you are staying in, it's likely better to use the Downtown Line (blue) to get to your hotel. You would board the train at Changi Airport station, then change to the Downtown line at Expo station. This train would stop at Chinatown and Telok Ayer MRT stations which will probably be near your hotel.
